Abstract

The research has shown that chitosan complex addition to layer feed 50 to 150 g per feed ton helps to increase egg production intensity by 0.8 to 2.1% and to reduce feed consumption by 1.1 to 1.8% and by 1.2 to 2.6% per ten eggs and 1 kg of egg mass respectively. Ash, calcium, phosphorus, zinc and copper content in experimental group layers tibia increased by 2.81 to 5.0%, 2.03 to 3.06%, 1.04 to 1.23%, 0.1 to 0.16 mg%, 0.64 to 1.82 mg% and 0.06 to 0.15mg% comparing to control group layers. Egg shell elastic deformation reduced to 18–19 µm from 21 µm for experimental group 47 weeks aged layers and egg shell thickness increased to 0.38 mm from 0.36 mm in control.
