Abstract

The article reveals peculiarities of metaphorical transfer in hybrid nomination. For the first time this problem is examined in the diachronic aspect by the material of the German hybrid words of the conceptual field “Education”. The choice of a composite component for metaphorical transfer is justified taking into account the anthropometricity of a metaphor. The mechanisms of metaphorization of original and borrowed hybrid word components are analysed. The peculiarities of using terms-Anglicisms in the figurative meaning are identified. The necessity for metaphorical transfer in hybridization in the conceptual field under study is justified.
