Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the competitiveness of products by selecting the package design of Shaanxi Pingyao beef as a case and integrating Chinese traditional patterns into the package design through a modern perspective and design method. In order to analyze the existing beef package design and the five design proposals presented by the researcher, the final evaluation criteria were presented through operational definition in accordance with the evaluation criteria of the study. The evaluation items were analyzed centering on aesthetics, attention, reliability, uniqueness, and relevance. Consumers' preference and purchasing degree for beef package design were evaluated and analyzed to identify problems, and consumers preferred and The results were presented in the thesis to see if the purchase rate was high.
 As a result of the study, most of the 5 designs presented by the researcher obtained relatively higher scores than existing commercial products in 5 evaluation items. Received a significantly higher score. In terms of purchase, works using traditional printmaking techniques received the highest score. In the survey analysis by age group, consumers under the age of 20 obtained the highest scores in both preference and purchase for works that applied the modernization of traditional Chinese patterns.
