Abstract
In the paper a theoretical analysis of pedagogical, psychological and methodological literature on optional programs in the field of research activities, the author's program of optional training research activities «Methodology of preparation of scientific research» for training of young scientific personnel of EMERCOM of Russia, the purpose, tasks, structure and content of the proposed discipline, as well as quality assessment criteria for the protection of the final research project by students were described.
