Abstract
The article reflects the role and importance of national standardization in the socio - economic development of Russian regions in the conditions of modern reality. A special place is given to the state and prospects of standardization work in industry and the reflection of its participation in government programs. A methodological approach to the selection and establishment of activity indicators for industrial enterprises in order to ensure the sustainable development of the region is proposed. It is concluded that an important factor in improving the performance of industrial enterprises can be the assessment of their innovation and production activity, as well as competitiveness and quality. The results of the assessment can be used to make management decisions in order to support and motivate the development of industry in the region.
