Abstract

The paper aims to reveal the potential of musical art for developing secondary school pupils’ interest in domestic history. The article examines realization of young peoples’ patriotic education by means of art at music lessons. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the Russian composers’ works are analysed taking into account their role in developing teenagers’ interest in domestic history. The research findings are as follows: the author compiles a list of musical, pictorial and poetical works recommended for use in musical classes in order to promote pupils’ interest in domestic history.
