Abstract
The article examines the role of entrepreneurship in achieving the goals of sustainable development of territories, as well as the essence of ESG-transformation of business development. The analysis of the current level and directions of state financial support for startup entrepreneurs working in areas contributing to sustainable development (environmental and social spheres) on the territory of the Gatchina municipal district of the Leningrad region. It is noted that social entrepreneurship in the region has a more developed regulatory and legal framework and receives more government support in comparison with environmental business. In this article, recommendations were formulated to improve the effectiveness of government support measures for start-up entrepreneurs – representatives of SMEs working in the environmental and social spheres, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development of the region.
