Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the possibilities of didactic games in the development of speech skills of preschool children in teaching Chinese. The article describes the components of speech skills that need to be formed in preschoolers when learning the Chinese language. The specifics of using didactic games for the development of Russian preschoolers’ speech skills in the process of teaching the Chinese language is shown, and the principles of teaching and pedagogical conditions that contribute to the development of preschoolers’ speech skills in Chinese lessons using didactic games are determined. The authors present the results of a pilot study that was conducted in 2020-2021 in St. Petersburg on the basis of the Chinese language school “ShengTan” and in the kindergarten “Star Trek” (“Zvjozdnyj put”). The scientific novelty of the study lies in the selection of teaching principles and the identification of pedagogical conditions for using the didactic games for the development of Russian preschoolers’ speech skills in teaching Chinese. As a result, the difficulties faced by Chinese language teachers and their students in the educational process were identified, the role of didactic games in the development of preschoolers’ speech skills was determined.
