Abstract

Cross-border transactions for the supply and transit of Russian gas to Ukraine: content and regulatory features This article examines the contracts concluded between Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine for the period 2009-2019. The author analyzes their legal nature and concludes that, as a type of cross-border transactions in the gas sector, contracts for the supply and transit of gas are regulated by private international law. Special attention is paid to the choice of applicable law and the arbitration agreement. In addition, the issue of negotiating contracts for the new decade was raised in the light of the record of a meeting of representatives of the European Union, Ukraine and the Russian Federation, and companies of these countries 19-20 December 2019.
