Abstract

The article examines the relationship between the concepts of scientific, technical and technical and forensic means within the framework of criminal proceedings and customs control. An analysis is carried out of the need to comply with the conditions of scientific character and reliability when creating and using scientific and technical means. It is noted that technical and forensic means are absorbed by scientific and technical means. Currently, the most effective way is to change the technological process of customs operations through the introduction of fundamentally new, innovative technical means of customs control, which, in the author’s opinion, should be classified as scientific and technical means.
