Abstract
The article provides the historiographic analysis of the photo collections stored in the Governmental Institution “State Archives of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District - Yugra”. The author identifies the peculiarities of photographs as a historical source: their illustrativeness, informativeness, reliability and value when exhibiting the household items, houses that were made by handicraftsmen. Relying on previously unknown archival sources and photos the author examines the household goods, which were made by the regional producers’ cooperatives.
