Abstract

The article discusses the possible realisations of simple syntactic groups formed by a head verb and a subordinate adjective in Bulgarian. One of the realisations of this construction is analysed in detail with respect to two linguistic mechanisms that play a role in linking lexemes in grammatically correct constructions: connotation and syntactic accommodation. The description of the members of the group takes into account the characteristics of the lexical classes that make it up as well as its syntactic variants. The paper also describes normative issues of the linguistic realisation of the group that arise from the selection of values for the grammatical categories of gender and number. Keywords: simple syntactic groups, connotation, syntactic accommodation, verbs, adjectives, Bulgarian language
