The research included linguistic-methodical templates of work textbooks of different publishers used in teaching Serbian language and a representative textbook used in learning German language as a mother tongue. The aim of this paper is to formally analyze the tests for examination of the native language, tasks presented in the collections for the preparation of the final exam, as well as workbooks focusing on linguistic methods in German and Serbian textbooks in order to point out the need to introduce Serbian language to additional methodological material, modifies the curriculum in older classes and approaches the field of functional stylistics adequately given the poor functional literacy of our students. Also, the better didactic design of the German textbook and the better implementation of functional stylistics in linguisticmethodological templates within them were pointed out.
