Abstract
The study deals with staff selection and recruitment for internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation. Personnel technology in this regard is to create ef-fective staff selection and recruitment system and find candidates suitable for law enforcement prac-tice. The author suggests the relevant areas for im-provement of internal affairs staff selection and re-cruitment technology. The emphasis is placed on the challenges met by psychological service during the aforementioned processes. It is necessary to introduce novel tests and assessments and enhance the professional and psychological culture of law graduates. The study presents a brief historiograph-ical overview of the subject matter. The researcher concludes that robust personnel policy will enhance the effectiveness of internal affairs bodies as a whole, increase the credibility of the police, and de-velop public confidence in this institution.
