Abstract
The article defines the essence of the method of projects in the process of foreign languages teaching, its content and principles. Efficiency in its practical application in the process of foreign languages teaching of students has been proved.It is proved that the use of the project method of teaching helps to create a creative atmosphere in a foreign language lesson, an active cognitive process in which every student is involved. It is substantiated that the project method belongs to the group of communicative methods, forming intercultural competence in foreign language classes, stimulates activity among students, arousing desire for active action, communication and expression of their own thoughts in a foreign language. During the project work, students come to understanding that the basis of linguistic and cultural space is based on a system of primarily spiritual, moral and human values, norms and rules, which unites people on certain grounds.It is analyzed that this method of teaching, having influence on the emotional sphere of a teenager, allows to most effectively instill universal values not as a set of attitudes, but as an inner conviction of the teenagers, their worldview. This method is successful because in the course of its implementation, students learn to acquire information independently, gaining knowledge and experience of cognitive and educational activities, enriching their spiritual and value sphere. It is proved that the principles of the project method of training, namely: problematicity, variability, cognitive, adaptability, personal factor, presence of interest to the educational process, help for effective practical application of the project method in the process of foreign languages teaching and creation of appropriate conditions for its realization.
