Abstract

Memorialization as a purposeful activity to preserve, consolidate and transmit cultural and literary traditions, associated with the personality and work of poets and writers, to next generations becomes especially demanded during critical historical periods, which is what happened with Maria Sergeevna Petrovykh at the turn of the millennium. Born in Yaroslavl, who at an early stage of her work became a prominent figure among the poets of the Silver Age, who rethought the traditions of Russian classical poetry, who revealed many bright artistic phenomena of different national cultures to the Russian reader but, unfortunately, little known to the general reading public due to historical circumstances, Maria Petrovykh becomes an iconic personality in the Russian cultural space in the 1990s – 2000s. The article traces an attempt to present the influence of the personality and creativity of M.S. Petrovykh on the literary and cultural environment of her hometown.
