Abstract
This article is concerned with the history, current realities and development prospects of the leading center of legal education in the South of Russia, the Faculty of Law of the Southern Federal University. The continuity of the law faculties of the Imperial Warsaw, Don, Rostov State and Southern Federal Universities emphasizes centuries-old traditions as much as possible of the scientific school, methods of teaching legal disciplines and the demand for university graduates. A continuous thread laid from the past to the present that allows you to look to the future with justified optimism.
