Abstract
The paper considers the process of accordion (bayan) performance development in Primorsky Krai in the period from the beginning of the Civil War till the beginning of the 1940s. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the authors for the first time provide a comprehensive survey of accordion (bayan) performance development in Primorsky Krai in the mentioned period, introduce previously unpublished materials into scientific circulation. The conducted research allows concluding that, in spite of the wartime crisis, art of accordion (bayan) playing in Primorsky Krai achieved significant popularity, though its development was less impetuous in comparison with the neighbouring regions. The achievements of this period contributed to subsequent flourishing of art of accordion (bayan) playing in Primorsky Krai.
