Abstract
The article considers the history of foundation of the public organization — Altai regional local lore association. The reasons and ways of its foundation, participants, objectives, forms of activity in the context of development of public movement in the years 1990-ths — the beginning of the 2000-ths. The notions about local lore studies and local lore experts are being analyzed. The author reconstructs the pool of participants and evaluates their contribution into the foundation of the regional local lore association (A. D. Sergeev, A. V. Dobrikova, L. G. Kojnova). The sources of its history are revealed. The basis of this publication is constituted by the materials of the interviews with the participants and witnesses of the local lore movement in the years of 1990-ths in Altai krai — V. B. Borodaev, O. V. Padalkina, V. A. Skubnevskij, A. V. Kontev
