Abstract
Modern linguistics tends to link language to humans and to study humans as a center of linguistic research. Linguistic anthropology studies the nature of human languages in the context of those cultures that developed them. Scholars in the field seek to understand the social and cultural foundations of language itself while exploring how social and cultural formations are grounded in linguistic practices. Humans differ from other animals by their ability to complex reasoning and use complex language. In this article, we aim to compare how Mongolian and English idioms related to human intelligence reflect national and cultural features, and the figurative branch of the language especially idioms need special attention in language learning and adequate research.
