Abstract

Purpose. Discover value and effectiveness of correction adaptive resource of visual system by using optic trainers “ZENITSA” during treatment of children with acquired myopia and children with predisposition to myopia. Material and methods. There was 26 students of primary school under surveillance. All of them with progressive low myopia and predisposition to myopia. 12 boys and 14 girls with age on average 9.6 ± 0.6 years old. Two courses of optical kinesitherapy using optic trainer “ZENITSA” were done during the study year and having a period 5 months between courses. Results. A binocular visual acuity is increased by an average from 0.48 to 0.80 (p < 0.01). A subjective refraction decreased an average on 0.85D from 2.1 ± 0.58 to (-) 1.25 ± 0.48 (P < 0.05). The reserves of relative accommodation (RRA) increased from 2.32 ± 0,24 to 4.5 D ± 0.22D (p < 0.01). The stability of visual perception to hyperopic retinal defocus increased by an average 13.2 % and the width of visual perception is increased by 0.9 D. There was no increase in refraction. Conclusion. Regular opto-reflexively courses of treatment using optical trainer “ZENITSA” helps to accommodation vergence eye system works better. Usage of optical trainers “ZENITSA” helps to increase adaptive opportunities of visual system, as a result children with myopia and children with predisposition to myopia getting normal process of refractogenesis. Keywords: acquired myopia, adaptive resource, optical trainers “ZENITSA”.
