An annular hollow microstructured fiber surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor based on ZIF-8 film is proposed for the measurement of CO2 concentration in air. Internal detection is adopted to enhance the spectral response to CO2 gas, and nano-gold pillars are embedded on both sides of the channel. The geometric parameters of the sensor are optimized to achieve an average sensitivity of 1.01 nm/% over the range of CO2 concentration from 0% to 100%. The results indicate that the sensor is a promising SPR gas sensor with great potential in CO2 detection applications.
