This paper investigates the qualities of high-performing teams in a work life context. High-performing team qualities increase the level of functioning, productivity, and efficiency of teams and create organizational performance, competitiveness, and business success. An overview of the qualities is based on research literature of high-performing teams, including research on innovative high-performing teams. The study is based on a longitude teambuilding case 2019-2021 in the Norwegian Transmission System Operator, Statnett SF. The team changes were supported by a professional facilitator the whole process. The outcome demonstrated that the approaches used to improve performance, defined by the teams’ ambitions, and needs, had the wanted effects on goal achievements, team cooperation and culture as well as working conditions and climate.
