Mujeres Indígenas Universitarias, reflexiones en torno a sus experiencias

In today’s society, the various roles played by women and their impact on their communities has grown in importance. Thus, we need to realize women’s struggles are different and related to cultural diversity, and the experiences stemming from that circumstance. Hence the need to understand the barriers, challenges, and struggles faced by Indigenous women at the university drawing on an intercultural feminist approach. Following Bonilla and Rodriguez’ qualitative methodology, we found several challenges encountered by Indigenous university woman students regarding their recognition as social subjects. Likewise, they face the challenge of harmonizing their cultural identity experiences and social demands, as well as finding their place as autonomous and members of a collective. In addition, attention should be paid to structural, social and academic hindrances in women’s educational process and the roles they hold, which imply greater visibility, creating safe spaces, and exchanging cultural views.

Student Educational Resilience While Online Studying During the Covid-19 Period

Covid-19 has caused changes in education aspect so that it is forced to learn online. This condition has made the world of Education in shock that has caused stress on students who are conducting online learning when they don't have the resilience to help themselves. This research is aimed at identifying the extent of educational resilience of students when they are conducting online learning during covid-19 as well as comparing the extent of educational resilience of man and woman students. This research employed a descriptive comparative quantitative approach. 807 Junior high school and senior high school students in Bukittinggi West Sumatra province were the respondents in this study. The result of this research has shown that the extent of educational resilience of students in online study has been in the high category with 89.10% (score 51-150). The comparative T-Test have shown that there was no distinction inside the educational resilience level of male and female students with the sig. 2 tailed higher than 0.05.

How women physics teacher candidates utilize their double outsider identities to productively learn physics

Underrepresentation of women in physics is a prominent issue in the western countries. Since physics teachers are in a unique position to affect new generations of students, it has been suggested that they are an important part of the solution. In this paper, we explore how trainee physics teachers create spaces for themselves as learners of physics while negotiating their positioning as women and trainee teachers. The empirical data consist of interviews with 17 trainee physics students, and the analysis focuses predominantly on the identity negotiations of three woman students. We find that the women simultaneously submit to and master a “physics nerd” discourse that connects physics with nerdiness, masculinity, and intelligence, which enables them to successfully create subject positions incorporating physics student, teacher-student, femininity, and constructive study practice. Burnout prevalence in medical students attending a team-based learning school

IntroductionWorldwide burnout prevalence among medical students is high. It has a negative impact on students’ personal and professional lives as well as on their psychosocial wellbeing and academic performance. It can result in physicians with emotional distancing and indifference to work, and it compromises the quality of healthcare offered to society. This study evaluates burnout in medical students selected by mini-multiple interviews (MMIs) who were being taught by the team-based learning (TBL) method. MMIs are often used to select students with soft skills for medicine, and TBL is related to greater academic achievement, which would allow students to have greater resilience to stress. Information on burnout occurrence is lacking for this type of student.MethodsStudents (N = 143) attending the first three semesters at a private medical school were evaluated. The Copenhagen Burnout Inventory—Student Version (CBI-SV) questionnaire was applied on three occasions (applications = Apps one, two, and three) in each semester. Scores ≥ 50 were considered to indicate burnout. Data were analyzed by statistics programs.ResultsPersonal-related and study-related burnout frequencies for 1st semester students were, respectively, 24.4 and 22% in App one and rose to 51 and 48.5% at the semester’s end. Second- and third-semester students’ frequencies reached 80.4 and 78.8%, respectively. Around 40% of 1st semester students having burnout at App one maintained the burnout score. Peer- and teacher-related burnout frequencies are low (4.9 and 2.4%) at the 1st semester App one and rose to the highest (24–30%) by the end of the 2nd semester. Woman students had significantly higher burnout frequencies in the personal- (p < 0.001) and study-related burnout subscales (p = 0.003). Students living with friends had lower study-related burnout scores than those living with family or alone (p = 0.024). There were no significant correlations between the burnout scores and tuition funding (partial or total) or having or not having religious faith.DiscussionThe prevalence of personal- and study-related burnout among medical students of the Faculdade Israelita de Ciências da Saúde Albert Einstein (FICSAE), perceived via mini-multiple interviews (MMI)—selected and team-based learning (TBL)—taught, was similar to those internationally reported. The college semester and the gender of woman were associated with worse burnout levels. Additional studies are needed to support more effective actions to reduce the impact of stress on students.

The Impact of Digital Payment on Consumer Behavior in China

To continue China's economic growth, plenty of research has been conducted to find the relationship between advancing payment methods and thriving consumption. Currently, digital payment is the latest and most mature way in China.Instead of being a single application for online transactions, digital payment represents a complete online shopping environment. To generally review the impact of digital payment on consumer behavior in China, literature containing research on consumers from different age groups and gender will be collected and concluded. This research takes women and undergraduate students as the critical research object because people ubiquitously consider these two groups of people as the primary consumers in the e-commerce market.After arranging information from the research about three stages that cover the shopping intention by digital payment, consumer psychology, and consumer behavior, this review concludes that economic growth is potentially attained by digital payment in a secure online environment, with the business target at profit maximization at the same time keep consumers rationale in a normal range, especially for woman and undergraduate students.

АНАЛИЗ ИЗМЕНЕНИЙ МОРФОФУНКЦИОНАЛЬНЫХ ПОКАЗАТЕЛЕЙ И ФИЗИЧЕСКОЙ ПОДГОТОВЛЕННОСТИ СТУДЕНТОК ВУЗА В ТЕЧЕНИЕ УЧЕБНОГО ГОДА

The state of health of the student youth continues to be of particular concern. The matters have been made worse by the consequences of coronavirus infection, which affected physical fitness and morphofunctional indicators of undergraduates. This article describes the results of the research conducted by the Department of Physical Education of Surgut State University in the academic year of 2021–2022. The purpose of the study was to reveal the dynamics in morphofunctional indicators and physical fitness of undergraduate students doing fitness during the academic year. The analysis revealed that second year woman students doing fitness during the academic year improved their morphofunctional indicators and physical fitness. However, it demonstrates negative changes as well. In othe authors’ opinion, this is due to the consequences of the pandemic and requires a more thorough analysis of this problem.

BODY IMAGE, COMPASSIONATE SELF AND PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS RELATION IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The goal of this study was two-fold: first, to find out how self-compassion, body image, and psychological distress are linked in university students; and second, to find out how gender and education affect the variables in the university study.The sample consisted of 149 men and 151 woman students from universities in Pakistan. We used Body Shape Scale (Cooper et al., 1987), Self-Compassion Scale (Neff, 2003), and Psychological Distress Scale (Kessler et al.,2003) to measure body image, self-compassion and psychological distress, respectively.Cooper et al. (1987) made the Body Shape Scale, which measures body image, self-compassion, and psychological distress. Kessler et al. (2003) made the Psychological Distress Scale (which measures psychological distress), which made the Body Shape Scale, which measures body image. The results of the study show that self-compassion is a lot more important than body image. Similarly, body image is a big predictor of psychological distress and self-compassion among students at universities. Self-compassion, on the other hand, helped to break down the link between body image and psychological distress. Results also showed that there was no difference in gender when it came to body image, self-compassion, and psychological distress. As far as body image self-compassion and psychological distress go, there were no gender differences there. Findings also suggested that programmers that help people have a positive and healthy relationship with their bodies could be beneficial if they target shame and include self-compassion practices.

Low Body Mass Index for Early Screening of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis: A Comparison Based on Standardized Body Mass Index Classifications

PurposeScoliosis is a common musculoskeletal problem in adolescents. This study aimed to identify the prevalence of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) and its associated factors among Korean adolescents. The prevalence of thin individuals among students with AIS was compared based on body mass index (BMI) classifications. MethodsThis study was a secondary data analysis and used the 2016 Korean National Health Examination for School Students data. Data from 16,412 students were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square tests, and logistic regression analysis. ResultsThe prevalence of AIS was higher in women (3.8%) than in men (1.6%), and a higher school year was a risk factor for AIS in both sexes. In woman adolescents, scoliosis was associated with thinness; however, the risk of AIS was inversely associated with overweight/obesity in both sexes. The prevalence of thin woman students with scoliosis differed based on the criteria used: 3.3% by the World Health Organization criteria and 14.3% by the International Obesity Task Force criteria. ConclusionThe prevalence of thin students with scoliosis could increase by up to four times depending on the BMI criteria. For early screening of thin people at risk of AIS among female students, the criterion of International Obesity Task Force should be used as it is more permissive of thinness. This is also because of the underestimation of AIS prevalence when using the BMI Z score of the World Health Organization cutoff.

Comparação de aspectos sociodemográficos e de estilo de vida com qualidade do sono e sonolência excessiva diurna em acadêmicos de medicina em uma universidade do sul de Santa Catarina

OBJETIVO: Comparar aspectos sociodemográficos e estilo de vida com qualidade do sono e sonolência excessiva diurna em acadêmicos de medicina em uma universidade do sul de Santa Catarina.MÉTODOS: Estudo transversal. A amostra foi composta por estudantes curso de medicina da Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina, localizada em Tubarão/SC. A coleta levantou dados sociodemográficos e utilizou os questionários: Estilo de Vida Fantástico, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) e o Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS). Foi realizada análise bivariada através do teste ANOVA post hoc de Tukey em relação ao desfecho: sonolência diurna e qualidade do sono, considerado erro alfa de 5%.RESULTADOS: A amostra foi composta por 299 alunos, sendo a maioria mulheres (170; 56,9%), com mediana (P25-P75) e idade de 22 (20-23) anos. Na avaliação do estilo de vida, os resultados mais prevalentes foram: bom (131; 43,8%) e muito bom (129; 43,1%); o ESS indicou como achado mais comum a baixa probabilidade de sonolência diurna (186; 62,2%); e o PSQI demonstrou qualidade de sono ruim na maioria dos casos (221; 73,9%). Foi observada sonolência diurna excessiva maior nas mulheres (p<0,05), e o estilo de vida bom ou muito bom foi associado à melhor qualidade do sono (p<0,05) e menor sonolência diurna (p<0,05).CONCLUSÕES: Apesar da maioria dos alunos possuírem baixa probabilidade de sonolência diurna, a qualidade de sono mais prevalente foi demonstrada como ruim. As estudantes apresentaram maior probabilidade de sonolência diurna e o estilo de vida foi relacionado com boa qualidade do sono e menor sonolência diurna.

The Effects of Research-Inquiry Based Learning on the Scientific Reasoning Skills of Prospective Science Teachers

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of research-inquiry-based learning approach on the Scientific Reasoning Skills of Science Education Prospective Teachers in the Nature of Science and Science History Course. The study was designed as a single group pre-test – post - test model. The study group consisted of 31 prospective teachers in the 3rd grade of Science Education program in a public university in the spring term of 2017-2018 academic year. For the scientific reasoning skills of prospective teachers "Scientific Reasoning Skills Test - SRST" was measured as a pre-test, then the Nature of Science and Science History course was conducted with the Research-Inquiry Based Learning Approach and SRST was applied as a final test. This test consists of 7 sub-dimensions and contains a total of 26 items. The findings of the sub-problems of the study can be expressed as follows; a significant difference was found between the SRST pre-test total scores and post-test total scores in favor of the post-test total scores according to the sub-dimensions of proportional thinking, correlative thinking and hypothetical thinking. There was no significant difference in the post-test total scores according to the sub-dimensions of conservation laws, identifying and controlling variables, combinatorial thinking and probabilistic thinking. There was no significant difference between SRST pre-test and post-test total scores of man and woman students. A significant difference was found only in the sub-dimension of combinatorial thinking in the total scores of the sub-dimensions of SRST.

Is one of important aspect in diagnosis and treatment planning on the period of mixed dentition. Prediction method that used commonly is Moyers method which the data is taken from Kaukasoid ras. The objective of the research is to see the difference of leeway space of mandibula on Minang man and woman students of elemantary school Lubuk Sikaping. The method of this research is cross sectional comprative study. 56 samples of mandibula study are taken from the student of SDN 06 Pauh, SDN 09 Pauh, and SDN 10 Pauh Lubuk Sikaping at the age of 8 to 10 years and they are Minangnese. The results are analyzed statistically by t-test on significant degree 95%. This research indicates that the large average of man mandibula leeway space on the left (1,76 mm) and on the right (1,85 mm). And the average of leeway space of woman mandibula leeway space on the left (2,03 mm) and on the right (2,16 mm). The analyze t-test result on the significant degree 95% show there is no significant difference (p>0,05) between man and woman students. Therefore, it can be concluded that the large average of leeway space of man and woman mandibula in Minang students of elementary school Lubuk Sikaping showed no significant difference in size.

What Does It Mean to Be a Young African Woman on a University Campus in Times of Sexual Violence? A New Moment, a New Conversation

Sexual violence in the higher education is an epidemic of global proportions. Scholars conclude that the individual and collective silence that surrounds such violence enables its perpetration and that violence will only be eradicated when we break this silence. In this paper, we used two participatory visual methods (PVM), collage and storytelling, to explore what sexual violence at university looks like and what it means to woman students. Two groups of student teachers in two South African universities were engaged in collage and storytelling workshops in late 2017 and early 2018, respectively. We thematically analyzed the issues that emerged from the data, drawing on transformative learning theory to explore how our approach might help women students to break the silence around sexual violence and stimulate critical dialogue to address it. Our analysis suggests that these visual tools enabled deep reflections on the meaning and impact of sexual violence, particularly for women. In addition, the participatory process supported introspection about their experiences of sexual violence and their responses to it as bystanders in and around campus. More importantly, they discussed how they, as young women, might break the silence and sustain new conversations about gender and gender equality in institutions and beyond.

MOTIF PERSAHABATAN DAN KESEPIAN PADA SANTRI

There are many factors that could make a person become lonely, one of the factors is the condition where the person have to live far from their parents and family, which is shown on the teenegers that lived in boarding school. Building a good friendship could help a person who feels loneliness. This research aims to determine the correlation of friendship motive towards loneliness on boarding school students, differences in the level of friendship motive on man students and women students, and the difference in levels of loneliness on man students and woman students. This research has 247 student subjects consisted of 172 man students and 75 woman students at the boarding school Darud Da'wah wal Irsyad Rahman Ambo Dalle Mangkoso. This research uses product moment person test and independent sample t-test. The results of this research show that was correlation of friendship motive towards loneliness (p = 0.000). Correlation coefficient of friendship motive toward loneliness of -0.618. There was no differences in the level of friendship motive men students and women students (p = 0.731). There was no difference in the level of loneliness men students and women students (p = 0.150). The benefits of this research is to give an idea of the friendship motive and loneliness, especially the students at the boarding school.

HUBUNGAN ANTARA PENGETAHUAN SISWA TENTANG KONSEP-KONSEP EKOLOGI DENGAN ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT DIDASARKAN PADA GENDER (STUDI KORELASIONAL TERHADAP SISWA DI SMAN 31 JAKARTA)

Ecological footprint is an estimation analysis or measure individual consumption behaviour resulting in the environment. One of the factors which ecological footprint affects are knowledge of ecology concepts and gender. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between student’s knowledge of ecology concepts to ecological footprint based on gender. This research was conducted on January-February 2016. The method used was descriptive method with correlational study. The sample was simple random sampling about 104 students. The prerequisite test showed that the data was normal and homogen. The first hypothesis test using linear regression test and simple correlation. Regression model obtained Ŷ = 0.047–0.574X had a significant and linear relationship. The coefficient of correlation obtained was –0.72, which means there was a negative relationship between student’s knowledge of ecology concepts to ecological footprint. The coefficient of determination obtained was .518, which means student’s knowledge of ecology concepts contributed 51.8% to the ecological footprint. The second hypothesis test using t-test independent sample, significance value obtained was .123, which means that there was no significant ecological footprint difference between man students and woman students. The result of this study concluded that there was negative correlation between student’s knowledge of ecology concepts with ecological footprint and gender was no affect the student’s ecological footprint. The higher of knowledge of ecology concepts will reduce their ecological footprint and it will create a balance environment.

Predictors of Physical Activity Amongst Women Students of Teacher Education for Primary Education at Indonesia University of Education, Sumedang Campus

Physical activity (PA) interventions are needed at all age groups (USDHHS, 2000), while women students in Indonesia are still continue to exhibit a poor level of PA which calls for more effective PA interventions. This study is aimed to examine some predictors of PA amongst women students of Teacher Education for Primary Education (TEFPE), including self-control on diet (SC-D), health related fitness knowledge (HRFK), and free time motivation (FTM). This study applied descriptive correlation and regression analysis, and a cross-sectional approach, and participants consist of a random sample of 206 women students of TEFPE. Data were obtained byusing SC-D scale (Grassick et al), FTM scale (Baldwin & Caldwell, 2001), HRFK test (Smart fit), and International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short (IPAQ-Short) self-report, in which those instruments have been adapted to Indonesian version. The coefficient reliability (Cronbach-alpha) of SC-D scale and FTM scale is fairly high, .80 and .84 respectively, while HRFK test has been validated, and belongs to content validity, while its reliability is high enough (.81). The whole HRFK’s test items (40 items) showed fairly good of its discrimination index. This study revealed that the largest percentage of woman students belongs to a low level of physical activity (vigorous = 13.1%; moderate = 40.80%; light = 46.10%). A multiple correlation among SC-D, HRFK, FTM, and Paws fairly high and significant (R = .858< .05). A multiple regression analysis showed that HRFK (b3 = 63.697) is far more powerful than SC-D (b1=25.086), and FTM (b2 = 7.055) to predict PA. Students’ motivation to engage in PA during free time tend to be generated by extrinsic rather than intrinsic motivation. This study suggest that the acquisition of HRFK is a foundation to promote PA, in order to maintain “a carryo ver effect” to exhibit healthy and active life style amongst students. But free time motivation should be sustained as “driving force” to exhibit healthy behaviour across a life span.

영아 심폐소생술시 지지대를 사용한 두 손가락 가슴 압박의 효과

영아 심폐소생술 1인 수행시 효과적인 가슴 압박 방법을 모색하기 위해 시뮬레이션을 활용하여 두 손가락에 지지대를 사용하기 전 후의 가슴 압박 효과를 측정하였다. 여자 대학생 50명을 대상으로 실험을 실시하고 paired t-test, 카이제곱 검정 및 Fisher's exact test를 이용하여 결과를 분석하였다. 가슴 압박의 깊이는 두 손가락에 지지대를 사용하기 전 <TEX>$2.50{\pm}0.59cm$</TEX>에 비해 사용 후 <TEX>$3.73{\pm}0.33cm$</TEX>로 유의하게 개선되었다(p < 0.001). 두 손가락 지지대 사용은 대상자의 가슴 압박에 대한 자신감과 효과를 유의하게 증가시켰다(p < 0.001). 결론적으로 영아 심폐소생술 1인 수행시 두 손가락 지지대 사용은 가슴 압박의 깊이와 자신감 그리고 효과를 유의하게 증가시켰다. 따라서 지지대를 이용한 두 손가락 압박법은 영아 심폐소생술 1인 수행시 유용할 것으로 판단된다. This paper aims to compare the effectiveness of the chest compression when a person pushes on the infant's chest by using two fingers with the support during infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation, with the effectiveness of it without the support, and to find which one is better. For the study, 50 college woman students were tested during the simulation and the result of the test has been analyzed by chi-square test, Fisher's exact test. In case of the chest compression by using the support, the depth of the chest compression comes to <TEX>$3.73{\pm}0.33cm$</TEX>. On the other hand, in case of the chest compression without the support, <TEX>$2.50{\pm}0.59cm$</TEX>. It is founded that the method of pushing on the chest by using the support is more effective than that without the support (p < 0.001). It is concluded that the way that a person pushes on the infant's chest by using two fingers with the support during infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation has turned out to be more effective and useful. It is thought that in the future, the further study for it should be conducted.
