Design And Build Smart Remote For Iot Based Air Conditioner

More and more activities and technological advances should be able to go hand in hand, some of these activities can be done simultaneously at one time to save time and energy. Unfortunately, not many people know about it. In this study, the author designed a remote control system to control the Air Conditioner (AC) instead of the conventional remote. The author uses ESP32 microcontroller and Infrared Led (IR Led) as well as the telegram application. In this study, it will be seen whether the designed system can run well, with the conditioning of the WiFi network used specifically for the designed system. It is hoped that this study can be a reference for other researchers in developing similar research, and it is possible that ready-to-use finished products can also be produced in the future.

Using Brain Waves and Computer Interface Technology as a Communication System

ABSTRACT Introduction The existing methods for individual emergency alert systems often rely on physical or voice-based human intervention, which may not be practical or safe in certain emergency situations or for people with certain rare medical conditions or disabilities. Popular voice command programs such as Siri and Alexa can be loud, drawing unwanted attention. Additionally, existing devices are limited to indoor usage, lack portability, involve multiple wires, have low noise tolerance, and offer limited customization options. This study introduces a novel method for emergency alert using brain waves. Method An electroencephalography (EEG) headset device was used to capture the user’s brain waves. After calibration, the device identifies peak brain signals and stores them for future use. When a command is triggered, the device’s Bluetooth functionality communicates with a dedicated application installed on any digital device. The user can use their thoughts to select a predefined command within the application, which is then transmitted to any local WiFi network or internet connection. Results Overall, this pilot study achieved a success rate of 96–98% for receiving the brain-computer interface (BCI) commands and sending the appropriate SMS text messages. Conclusion By leveraging these technologies, disabled individuals may access and use new technologies, starting with the ability to text message using their mind.

Wi-fi sensor networks (WSNs) and IoT platforms can establish centralized facts systems to reveal environmental situations. Through sensor information evaluation, we will discover capability risks in real time. When unusual readings are detected, the device can cause signals, ship SMS messages, and make calls to exact contacts. These signals offer statistics about the threat factor, its location, and suggested movements. Using uploading actual-time statistics to cloud servers and issuing alerts through various communication channels, this machine ambitions to reinforce communities with critical data, thereby enhancing their disaster response and preparedness

An Optimization of RSRP on Wi-Fi and LTE-LAA Coexistence Networks

Over the last decade, mobile traffic has grown at an exponential rate, resulting in a scarcity and incompetent use of licensed spectrum by mobile network operators. Therefore, it is important to maintain effective communication to avoid disconnecting signals. The technique of regulating the power of a transmitter in order to improve the communication signal or entire quality of service is known as power control. It is mostly used to improve the performance of a communication device by controlling the transmission power. Power control, in most scenarios, allows the transmission or signal power to be scaled, leading to improved signal quality. On the other hand, power control methods are aimed at avoiding unnecessarily high-power transmission. Hence, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a computational method for optimizing the reference signal received power (RSRP) by iteratively attempting to improve an unnecessarily high-power transmission solution in terms of a given quality measure. The objective of this research is to evaluate the optimum RSRP value and proposed ideal energy detection threshold for Wi-Fi and LTE-LAA in order to obtain fair coexistence between two networks. Thus, simulations for PSO are carried out using MATLAB software. Based on the results obtained, there are improvement in throughput for both networks after PSO implementation therefore, an ideal energy detection threshold is suitable to use in order to get fair coexistence between Wi-Fi and LTE-LAA networks. Consequently, all the results obtained will be used in following research work in order to evaluate user’s handover in various scenarios.

Long-distance hand tractor controlled by android system in Wetland Field

Modernization of agricultural practices is essential to overcome challenges such as decreasing agricultural labor and decreasing agricultural land in Indonesia. This research examines the development and performance of a hand tractor that is controlled remotely via an Android-based system using the NodeMCU ESP8266 module and a WiFi network. This study focuses on the technical and operational performance of hand tractors in wetlands. Modifications were made to the tractor, by installing three DC motors to control the clutch and gas levers. Tests were carried out on the control system accuracy and response time to assess the system's suitability for field operations. The research results show that the Android system has 100% accuracy in executing all commands given, but the response time decreases as the distance between the Android device and the WiFi module increases, with an average delay reaching 6,8 seconds for a maximum 100 m distance. Field efficiency testing shows that a tractor with Android control has a work efficiency of 70.48% in the plowing process and 75.33% in the harrowing process, lower than with manual control which reaches an efficiency of more than 95%. Despite response delays and reduced efficiency, the system is an important step toward agricultural mechanization, especially in labor-intensive wetlands.

Data ecosystem using smart home technology to support healthy aging

Abstract Background Smart home technology has been widely used to mitigate the challenges that population aging brings. However, the lack of a centralized data ecosystem has prevented these technologies from realizing their full potential. This project aimed to construct a data ecosystem compatible with smart home sensors to monitor healthcare for seniors, improving their quality of life. Methods The infrastructure was constructed using a user-centered design approach, allowing smart devices such as motion, temperature sensors to operate independently and communicate through a Wi-Fi mesh network. API technology provides a reliable channel for real-time data collection. To ensure data privacy and security, extracted data is hosted in a cloud environment that provides comprehensive data protection, and cloud computing is utilized for high-performance computation tasks. Analytical models such as Machine Learning can be implemented to recognize indoor activities, achieving the goal of remote monitoring. Results This data ecosystem advances in privacy and security, interoperability, accessibility, and data-sharing. Unified authentication mechanism ensures data is transmitted among heterogeneous devices with minimal vulnerability. Additionally, the common communication protocol provides the foundation of interoperability between devices. With unobtrusive devices, inhabitants are not burdened with operation, ensuring their accessibility and improving their user experience. Lastly, the data is exchanged in a standardized JSON data format, enabling efficient data-sharing board data integration. Conclusions This project developed a data ecosystem based on existing smart home environments. The ecosystem is compatible with smart devices that families already have, effectively reducing additional healthcare costs. Implications of this study include helping health policy and decision makers to adopt more smart home ecosystems to keep older people healthy at home. Key messages • Study constructed a data ecosystem compatible with smart home sensors, achieving remote monitoring of indoor activities and improving the quality of life for seniors. • The developed ecosystem offers promotion in privacy and security, interoperability, accessibility, and efficient data-sharing, reducing healthcare costs.

A Modified TCP BBR to Enable High Fairness in High-Speed Wireless Networks

Wireless networks, especially 5G and WiFi networks, have made great strides in increasing network bandwidth and coverage over the past decades. However, the mobility and channel conditions inherent to wireless networks have the potential to impair the performance of traditional Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) congestion control algorithms (CCAs). Google proposed a novel TCP CCA based on Bottleneck Bandwidth and Round-Trip propagation time (BBR), which is capable of achieving high transmission rates and low latency through the estimation of the available bottleneck capacity. Nevertheless, some studies have revealed that BBR exhibits deficiencies in fairness among flows with disparate Round-Trip Times (RTTs) and also displays inter-protocol unfairness. In high-speed wireless networks, ensuring fairness is of paramount importance to guarantee equitable bandwidth allocation among diverse traffic types and to enhance overall network utilization. To address this issue, this paper proposes a BBR–Pacing Gain (BBR–PG) algorithm. By deriving the pacing rate control model, the impact of pacing gain on BBR fairness is revealed. Adjusting the pacing gain according to the RTT can improve BBR’s performance. Simulations and real network experiments have shown that the BBR–PG algorithm retains the throughput advantages of the original BBR algorithm while significantly enhancing fairness. In our simulation experiments, RTT fairness and intra-protocol fairness were improved by 50% and 46%, respectively.

Simulation of Launch Pad Atomization for Military Weapon System

This study aims to optimize three critical parameters (inclination angle, hook lifting, and sparking) for a missile launching system by combining precise mathematical methods, IoT concepts, and advanced sensor technologies. The system uses an Inertial Navigation System (INS) in conjunction with gyro and proximity sensors to ensure accurate target interception by carefully determining the optimal launch angle. The Internet of Things concept is integrated effortlessly, with a clever coordinating WiFi networking, weight estimation, and sensor data processing for real-time cloud data flow. Security protocols protect the integrity of the data, and a reliable power supply system guarantees reliable operation. The project incorporates both Hot Start and Cold Start functionalities, enabling dependable launches and prompt adaptations to dynamic changes. Flexible igniting mechanisms such as Chemical, Electrical, and Electro-Chemical systems are available, and reliable and secure missile launches are prioritized with safety features like Spark Damping Inner Tube Coating and Moisture-Resistant igniting. All things considered, this project prioritizes security, dependability, and adaptability while addressing critical elements required for a sophisticated and efficient missile launching system.

Data Mining Approach for Evil Twin Attack Identification in Wi-Fi Networks

Recent cyber security solutions for wireless networks during internet open access have become critically important for personal data security. The newest WPA3 network security protocol has been used to maximize this protection; however, attackers can use an Evil Twin attack to replace a legitimate access point. The article is devoted to solving the problem of intrusion detection at the OSI model’s physical layers. To solve this, a hardware–software complex has been developed to collect information about the signal strength from Wi-Fi access points using wireless sensor networks. The collected data were supplemented with a generative algorithm considering all possible combinations of signal strength. The k-nearest neighbor model was trained on the obtained data to distinguish the signal strength of legitimate from illegitimate access points. To verify the authenticity of the data, an Evil Twin attack was physically simulated, and a machine learning model analyzed the data from the sensors. As a result, the Evil Twin attack was successfully identified based on the signal strength in the radio spectrum. The proposed model can be used in open access points as well as in large corporate and home Wi-Fi networks to detect intrusions aimed at substituting devices in the radio spectrum where IEEE 802.11 networking equipment operates.

Generalized stochastic Petri net-based performance analysis of a Wi-Fi network probe in a dynamic QoX management system

Over the years, the concept of Quality of Service (QoS) has evolved from traditional network performance metrics to include Quality of Experience (QoE) considerations. This evolution also encompasses various business-related aspects, such as the impact of service quality on customer satisfaction, the alignment of service offerings with market demands, and the optimization of resource allocation to ensure cost-effectiveness and competitive advantage. This comprehensive approach, considering all the QoS dimensions (QoX), ensures the proper management of QoS across different services, contexts and technologies. Building on this broader QoX framework, it is essential to rely on advanced monitoring tools capable of handling the complexity introduced by these new demands. In this context, this paper describes a Generalized Stochastic Petri Net (GSPN) based model to analyze the performance of a Wi-Fi network probe in terms of computational capacity. The probe node plays a crucial role in a distributed monitoring system designed to implement a machine learning based global QoX management framework. Hence, the model explores the probe's computational resources to handle supplementary machine learning tasks alongside its typical packet capture and data processing responsibilities. Additionally, the model can evaluate the efficiency of the probe node under different scenarios, providing valuable insight into the potential need for additional resources at the node as operational demands continue to evolve.

The aim of the research is to determine the media relations strategy carried out by PT Angkasa Pura II at Fatmawati Bengkulu Airport in fostering good relations with the media. This research uses the Four-step Public Relations Process theory by taking the six media PR strategies proposed by Frank Jefkins. This type of research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results of this research can be concluded that PT. Angkasa Pura II at Fatmawati Bengkulu Airport in building good relations with the media, namely carrying out various activities such as invitations for coverage at the airport terminal, media visits and providing a wifi network for the media. Apart from that, there are obstacles, namely the large number of media who find it difficult to attend the activities being held.

Enhancing TCP Airtime Fairness through Precise Computation for Upload and Download Flows in WiFi Networks

Airtime fairness has emerged as a key approach to enhancing wireless throughput performance. However, existing research often overlooks the precise calculation of airtime, particularly in relation to TCP acknowledgments. This paper introduces a novel method, implemented on the access point side, for accurately calculating the airtime of TCP and UDP flows. Building on this, we propose a QoS-based scheduling algorithm designed to improve fairness between upload and download traffic. The effectiveness of the algorithm is validated through experiments that accurately measure both throughput and airtime for upload and download traffic.

Optimization of 5 GHz Wi-Fi Network Performance Using Leaky Feeder Cables in Building Infrastructure

Wi-Fi operates on three frequencies: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. The 2.4 GHz frequency experiences more interference due to its shared frequency with Bluetooth. Wi-Fi on the 5 GHz frequency encounters less interference but has lower transmission power. This research aims to optimize the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network by utilizing Leaky Feeder cables in the AI building of the State Polytechnic of Malang. The study includes the analysis and design of Leaky Feeder cables, where the access point transmits Wi-Fi signals at a 5 GHz frequency through the leaky feeder cable, which is designed with small slots to allow a small amount of signal energy to leak out. For the farthest signal coverage, the access point reaches a distance of 77 meters with a signal strength of -89 dBm after the installation of the leaky feeder cable. This indicates that the leaky feeder cable has helped extend the access point's signal coverage to a greater distance, albeit with lower signal strength.

INTEGRATION OF TELEGRAM BOT AND UPTIME KUMA FOR WI-FI NETWORK MONITORING USING MIKROTIK

Wi-Fi network monitoring is a crucial aspect in ensuring the availability and security of widely used internet services. This research confirms the use of Telegram bots for notification integration with the Uptime-Kuma monitoring program and proxy devices for Wi-Fi network monitoring. The main router and network controller in this study were Mikrotik devices, while Uptime Kuma was used as a monitoring tool to track the performance and availability of the Wi-Fi network. When important events are discovered on the network, network administrators can receive quick notifications through integration with Telegram bots. In the context of Wi-Fi networks, the Security Policy Development Life Cycle (SPDLC) method is used to design relevant and effective security policies. It includes the stages of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and regular updating of security policies to maintain optimal levels of security. The results show that the integration of Telegram bots with the Kuma Uptime monitoring tool can improve network availability. This allows quick reaction to Uptime and Downtime reports in network conditions, which record the percentage of time network services are available. Thus, administrators do not need to wait for complaints from users if the connection is suddenly lost, because changes in connection status will automatically send a notification to Telegram.

Enhancing Deaf Athletes' Performance: Vibrating Wristband for Referee Whistle Detection on Recreational Sports Using Wi-Fi

This project arises in response to the to the various investigations found that have pointed out the difficulties that Deaf people have faced in the sports field due to the communication barriers they have with referees. The ASH board of directors has confirmed this fact and this is the problem identified. In addition, several studies support the difficulty of concentration among athletes. The proposal consists of a device for athletes placed on a wristband, which emits vibrations when the referee's whistle is blown. It seeks to improve the performance of the Deaf player by obtaining instant communication with the referees. For this project, a qualitative approach has been used to collect data on the experience of Deaf players in sport. For its construction, materials were needed such as the ESP8266-01 modules, a vibrating motor, a push button, transistor and batteries. In this case, each of the modules, connected to the transmitter or receiver, used the Wi-Fi network as a means of wireless communication between them. In addition, tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360 and Arduino IDE were used for programming, since HTTP was used as a communication protocol between the modules. Finally, the prototype obtained has been validated by comparing it with a previously developed device and performing maximum range and instantaneous response tests. As a result, it has been improved compared to the existing ones, the design was adjusted to improve and change the components used, size and ergonomics. Furthermore, the tests were successful, and the device functioned correctly.

A practical scheme for enhancing consistency and independence in wireless key generation for Wi-Fi networks

Wi-Fi networks benefit from physical layer wireless key generation, a theoretically secure method for improving information transmission security. This paper introduces the Consistent Independent Key Generation (CIKG) scheme based on the Wi-Fi signal transmission model. It addresses the dual challenges of channel noise and virtual carrier low-pass effects. The scheme begins with extracting the channel frequency response (CFR) from the entire signal preamble, including both long and short symbols, followed by applying cubic spline interpolation to the short symbol-derived CFR to achieve fine-grained frequency fading corresponding to the long symbols. This refined CFR is averaged to bolster noise resistance, improving key consistency. Subsequently, the inverse Fourier transform is used to obtain the channel impulse response (CIR), and a deconvolution strategy reduces the impact of virtual carrier low-pass filtering on the multipath information of CIR, thus improving key independence. Implemented within Wi-Fi networks, the effectiveness of the CIKG scheme is rigorously tested across diverse scenarios. Quantitative evaluations indicate that the scheme substantially improves key consistency, achieving a 5 dB enhancement in signal-to-noise ratio over traditional CFR-based schemes and elevates information entropy by 20%, significantly boosting key independence. These advances affirm the potential of the CIKG scheme as a formidable solution for developing robust and secure wireless communication networks.

The advancement of wireless communication technology is critical for improving the efficiency, safety, and productivity of mining operations. This study focuses on evaluating and recommending an optimal outdoor wireless network solution for Bara Prime Borneo (BPB) mining operations in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for decision-making. The current Wi-Fi infrastructure faces significant challenges, including limited coverage, interference, and scalability issues, which hinder its effectiveness in the demanding mining environment. To address these challenges, the study employs a comprehensive approach to identify stakeholder expectations and value perceptions, explore alternative wireless network designs such as Private LTE and Kinetic Mesh, and systematically select the most suitable solution using AHP. Through discussions with subject matter experts and secondary data collection, the study outlines the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) associated with the existing Wi-Fi network and potential alternatives. Using AHP, the study prioritizes various criteria such as coverage, reliability, cost, scalability, and security. The recommended design aims to bridge the gap between current capabilities and future needs, ensuring robust and extensive network coverage that supports various digital applications essential for modern mining. By selecting the proposed solution using AHP, BPB can achieve a more reliable and scalable wireless network, enhancing overall operational efficiency and safety while meeting the evolving demands of its mining operations.
