QR Code Labeling Design for Fixed Asset Management in Accounting Information System PT. Cipta Jaya Perkasa

In an increasingly competitive world of work, the balance between work demands and employees' personal lives is an important issue that affects job satisfaction and productivity. The purpose of this research is to design a fixed asset accounting information system application using QR codes to facilitate inventory in bookkeeping. It can store more comprehensive data, on fixed asset data accurately in recording in each entity. The research method applied is the software development method using Prototyping, where the software creation process will be carried out module by module with testing, starting from tagging, and creating a unique QR code for each fixed asset in each existing entity. The result study results indicate that using technology can make it easier to record assets by simply scanning the QR Code label, which is attached to each asset. So that the process of recording or managing assets can run accurately and quickly. The output of the research is the creation of a web and mobile application to manage asset information systems by utilizing QR Code technology. The implication of this research is for companies to develop wellbeing programs that not only focus on stress reduction but also pay attention to the need for work-life balance. This research also contributes to the development of HR management theory in the context of employee welfare management in modern industries.

Promoting Workplace Health, Safety, and Well-Being Among Essential Agricultural Workers Through Vaccine-Preventable Infectious Diseases Training in the Rio Grande Valley

ABSTRACT Introduction Health, safety, and well-being training programs provide essential education on anticipating, identifying, and mitigating exposures like infectious diseases. Gaps in infectious diseases awareness and education became especially apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequently were exacerbated by mis- and disinformation. Methods Vaccine-preventable infectious diseases training (influenza, hepatitis A and B, and tetanus infections, including COVID-19) was developed, delivered, and evaluated among 1,043 farmworkers, bodega workers, and production management in the Rio Grande Valley using mobile-learning technologies. The Kirkpatrick Four-Level Training Evaluation Model was utilized to evaluate training satisfaction (Level 1), effectiveness (Level 2), and effect on behavior (Level 3). Results The mean score on the pretest before training was 67.8% (SD 17.5), and the mean score on the same test immediately after the video training was 77.2% (SD 17.9). A paired t-test revealed that knowledge improved significantly from pre- to post-training (p < .05). We observed a difference between mean pre- and post-test scores relative to the pooled standard deviation, resulting in an effect size estimate of 0.53 indicative of a medium learning effect. Conclusion There is no “silver bullet” for training migrating bodega and farmworkers. Our findings suggest that the utilization of m-learning techniques continues to be a successful mechanism for delivering health, safety, and well-being awareness training content to agricultural workers in remote and challenging work environments. There is a long overdue need for offline capable software with features that allow equitable access to training, even in remote farming regions.

Te Mauri—whānau mana motuhake: supportive care for whānau Māori living with cancer

This article describes the origins and development of Te Mauri (the life essence), a unique Māori (Indigenous people of New Zealand) public health and well-being programme aimed at addressing critical gaps in knowledge about supportive cancer care for whānau (families) living with cancer in Aotearoa (New Zealand). Te Mauri is a kaupapa Māori (Māori philosophy) public health initiative having a whānau ora (family well-being) approach, so is based not on the individual, or patient, but within whānau and the core role of communities in relation to the provision of cancer care, the promotion of recovery from cancer, and the maintenance of well-being for current and future generations. Te Mauri makes an important contribution to expanding mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge) and the range of Indigenous models of care so that cancer service provision is improved for the benefit of all those who are on a cancer journey.

Increasing student well-being through a positive psychology intervention: changes in salivary cortisol, depression, psychological well-being, and hope.

The significant prevalence of mental health problems among children and adolescents is a major concern worldwide. The current study evaluates the impact of a year-long, school-based intervention, Flourishing Students, on adolescents' salivary cortisol levels, depressive symptoms, psychological well-being, and hope. Utilizing a cluster randomized design with intervention and control classes, 72 students engaged in 32 well-being lessons during academic year 2016-2017, whereas 68 students followed their standard curriculum. Depressive symptoms and psychological well-being were assessed at three time points, while the stress hormone cortisol and hope were measured at two. The results showed a slight increase in cortisol levels from baseline to post-intervention during school hours in the control group, whereas no change occurred in the intervention group. Additionally, total cortisol levels at post-intervention were slightly lower among intervention-group students compared with control group students. Questionnaire data revealed significant interaction effects on psychological well-being and hope from baseline to post-intervention, and on depression and psychological well-being from baseline to the 5-month follow-up. The intervention group scored lower in depressive symptoms and higher in psychological well-being and hope compared with the control group. These findings underscore the essential role of comprehensive assessment methods in evaluating intervention efficacy in well-being programs.

Transforming Workforce Dynamics: The Role of Remote Work Flexibility, Technological Adoption, and Employee Wellbeing on Productivity of State Owned Enterprise Employee

This study examines the impact of remote work flexibility, technological adoption, and employee wellbeing on the productivity of employees in state-owned enterprises (SOEs). In response to shifting workplace dynamics, SOEs have increasingly implemented flexible work arrangements and digital tools, prompting the need to evaluate how these factors influence employee performance. Using a quantitative research approach, data were collected from 400 employees across various SOEs in Indonesia. The analysis, conducted using multiple linear regression, revealed that technological adoption significantly enhances employee productivity, followed by remote work flexibility and employee wellbeing. Findings also highlight challenges such as digital infrastructure limitations and the need for more comprehensive wellbeing programs. The study contributes to existing literature by providing insights into how SOEs can optimize workforce productivity through flexible work policies, digital transformation, and employee wellbeing initiatives. Practical recommendations for overcoming identified barriers are discussed, offering a roadmap for SOEs to enhance employee performance in a rapidly evolving work environment.

Analysing the Factors Impacting the Mindfulness and Wellbeing of Faculty Members of Arts and Science Self-Financing Colleges in Kerala

Teaching in the modern academic environment is more complex, which makes it necessary to examine the challenges Kerala’s self-finance institutions arts and science institutes’ staff members are experiencing. This study investigates workplace stress among academic staff in self-financing arts and science institutes in Kerala. It analyses stress management techniques, including wellbeing initiatives and emotional intelligence training, and identifies the main stressors based on knowledge management (KM). The goal of the study is to improve faculty members’ performance and wellbeing in these institutions by providing information regarding relevant stress-reduction techniques that are specific to KM. The factors causing workplace stress have been measured as (a) demographic factors, (b) institutional factors and (c) psychological factors. Also, the stress management activities for the faculty members were considered a wellbeing programme, emotional intelligence, training and development. Initially, data collection was performed and 156 faculty members worked in arts and science self-financing colleges of the Kerala district. For a survey, in accordance with the proposed hypothesis, a systematic questionnaire has been created and sent to the faculty members who operate in Kerala. Moreover, statistical tests were performed on the gathered data using structural equation modelling (SEM) techniques. This investigation has revealed the characteristics that affect the faculty and staff working for an organisation in terms of workplace stress and excellent fit. The findings reveal that demographic demographics, institutional issues and stress management strategies influence faculty members in Kerala’s arts and self-finance colleges.

The power of researcher communities: actions towards better mental well-being in academic workplaces

This article delves into the mental health crisis in academia, highlighting the challenges associated with the growing cases of psychological problems among academic employees and Early-Career Researchers (ECRs). We demonstrate how the Researcher Mental Health Observatory (ReMO) community addressed these issues through networking, awareness raising, and advocating for actions to nurture a supportive work environment and remove stigma from mental health problems. Moreover, we highlight the role of institutions in promoting mental health, showcase instruments to collect data on academic working conditions, and discuss initiatives like the well-being ambassador programme aimed at supporting ECRs in their career development and mental well-being. Additionally, we touch upon the importance of self-care behaviours and peer support in academia. We conclude by highlighting the ongoing discussions on mental health, well-being, and healthy academic working environments, underscoring the long-lasting impact of the ReMO community’s efforts in the European academic world.

Burnout among Postgraduate Healthcare Trainees at a Tertiary Healthcare Center in Saudi Arabia.

The aim of this study was to investigate the level of burnout among postgraduate healthcare trainees at a tertiary care center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and assess the need to establish a well-being program. This cross-sectional study was conducted between December 2021 and January 2022 and used two validated questionnaires: the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) for assessing burnout among postgraduate healthcare trainees, and a questionnaire for assessing program directors' opinion on the need for a well-being program. A total of 386 trainees and 85 program directors completed the questionnaire. In both groups, the majority of the respondents were male (trainees: 53.9%; program directors: 61.2%). A total of 226 trainees (58.5%) scored above the CBI burnout cut-off score, with the median score being highest in the personal domain (62.5,IQR: 45.8-75). In the univariate analysis, the mean burnout score was higher among trainees who were married (P = 0.036), had children (P = <0.001), and were seniors (P = 0.028), whereas in the multivariate analysis, the only significant predictor of burnout was having 1-2 children (P = 0.023) or 3-4 children (P = 0.013). In the program directors survey, 90.6% agreed that improving physicians' well-being would directly rectify patients' overall well-being, but only 28.2% stated that it is currently incorporated in the curriculum. This study found that a large proportion of postgraduate healthcare trainees experience burnout, particularly in the personal domain. Although program directors supported the concept of trainees' well-being, its incorporation into the curriculum was lacking, suggesting the necessity of establishing a well-being program.

Should I Stay, or Should I Go? Emotional Exhaustion's Association with Intent to Leave in a National Sample of Female Physician Trainees.

Background: Physician burnout disproportionately affects women and contributes to attrition from the workforce, a costly problem that likely begins in training. Female physicians leave the workforce significantly earlier than male counterparts. The association between burnout and attrition intent in women physician trainees is unknown. Methods: This is a cross-sectional analysis of baseline data from a national sample of female physician trainees in a randomized controlled trial testing a well-being program in 2022. Participants completed surveys on burnout and intent to leave. Associations were analyzed using chi-square testing and univariable linear regression. Results: A total of 1,017 trainees responded. The average standard deviation (SD) age was 30.8 (4.0) years, 959 (94.3%) self-identified as a woman, and 540 (53.1%) as White. One-fifth (207, 20.7%) were in postgraduate year (PGY)-1, 198 (19.8%) PGY-2, and 595 (59.5%) ≥ PGY-3. Most scored positively for burnout; 77.5% experienced high emotional exhaustion (EE). One-fifth (20.6%) reported some intent to leave their program before graduation, and 32.7% reported intent to leave their specialty within 2 years. There was a strong association between EE scores and intent to leave: trainees reporting a high likelihood to leave before graduation had a 22.27 higher EE point average than those reporting no likelihood (95% confidence interval [CI]: 7.80, 36.74, p = 0.003). Conclusions: Attrition intent was associated with burnout. Addressing burnout during training will not only benefit trainees but could impact the retention of women physicians.

How do medical students' expectations shape their experiences of well-being programmes?

Medical schools have a duty of care to support their students' health and well-being. Student support studies have tended to focus on outcomes in respect of effectiveness and satisfaction. In contrast, little is known about how student expectations of support may shape their experiences and engagement with support mechanisms, as well as the relationships students have with those offering support (including the institution itself). To address this gap in knowledge, we explore how medical students' expectations of student support systems shape, and are shaped by, institutional rules and processes. We employed a qualitative case study approach using an institutional ethnography informed methodology. Our context was a medical school that provides a well-advertised, formal institutional support system where students are assigned a personal tutor. Data collection included interviews with medical students (n = 13) plus document analysis (public facing artefacts and internal policies/guidelines related to the support system). We applied the lens of psychological contract theory to guide abductive analysis of interview and text data. Students expected a strong support system to be provided by the medical school and the personal tutors. However, their experiences did not always align with their expectations. Some felt excluded by the system while others regarded the relationship with their personal tutor as more transactional than relational. Where their expectations were unmet, students responded by reducing their engagement with the formal support system and creating their own peer-support network that supplemented existing formal support. Student expectations matter in shaping their experiences of support systems. Where expectations are unmet, students may disengage and/or find alternatives. This may be easier for some students compared with others. More understanding of the relationship between expectations and engagement with support can inform the development of institutional support structures that meet the needs of all students across time.

Self-Compassion for Healthcare Communities: Exploring the Effects of a Synchronous Online Continuing Medical Education Program on Physician Burnout

Introduction: Physician burnout is a common problem for which self-compassion training has shown positive effects. In this program evaluation, we explore the effects of a synchronous online continuing medical education program (Self-Compassion for Healthcare Communities, SCHC) to improve physician burnout and related outcomes. Methods: The SCHC program was delivered online via Zoom and consisted of six 1-hour weekly sessions to enhance self-compassion and well-being. The primary outcome was the “burnout” subscale of the Professional Quality of Life scale; compassion satisfaction, secondary traumatic stress, self-compassion, resilience activation and decompression, and job satisfaction were evaluated, and qualitative data were also collected. Results: A total of 116 physicians attended at least one session of the program, 48 of whom completed both the preprogram and postprogram surveys. The results showed that physicians experienced a reduction in their burnout levels (P = .001) as well as improvements in compassion satisfaction (P = .027), secondary traumatic stress (P = .001), self-compassion (P &lt; .001), resilience decompression (P = .012), and job satisfaction (P = .038). Qualitative data, obtained from a total of 91 participants who attended at least one session, indicated that participants were satisfied with the SCHC program: they found it useful for learning to be compassionate with themselves and they highly valued having the chance to connect with other colleagues who experience similar struggles. Discussion: The live online SCHC program showed benefits on physician burnout and related outcomes such as compassion satisfaction, secondary traumatic stress, self-compassion, resilience decompression, and job satisfaction. Nonetheless, in addition to individual-focused well-being programs, systemic changes in health care delivery were also deemed necessary to decrease burnout.

Managing the impact of workplace trauma for Australian first responders: Harmonizing policy and practice

IMPACT Workers’ compensation costs are rising for first responder organizations, and mental health issues remain a serious concern for their employees. While advocates have long called for wellbeing programmes to address these challenges, this article evaluates the actual impact of such a programme. The authors explore the influence of team belongingness and a supportive work environment. While workplace trauma significantly affects the mental health of frontline workers, those who participated in the wellbeing programme and had strong team and organizational support reported lower psychological distress. The article highlights the importance of multi-level wellbeing interventions for the first responder workforce.

Uncovering student profiles. An explainable cluster analysis approach to PISA 2022

Educational data mining (EDM) applied to the wealth of data generated from international large-scale assessments (ILSAs) shows potential for identifying successful educational initiatives. Despite limited research on clustering methods in ILSAs, leveraging these methods to uncover student profiles can help decision-making in designing tailored programs. This study aims to identify and characterize 15-year-old student profiles using PISA 2022 data and reveal insights into the relationship between these profiles and factors such as ICT availability and use, gender, academic performance, and educational expectations. We analyzed PISA 2022 Spanish student data (n = 30,800) with a selection of 74 contextual variables, applying an end-to-end explainable cluster analysis methodology that integrates different machine learning (ML) and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques. This methodology covered data pre-processing, dimensionality reduction, clustering, and classification to ensure data quality and result explainability. We obtained 16 derived variables, 7 student clusters, and an optimal XGBoost classifier with a global accuracy of 0.8643. Using local and global SHAP values, we interpreted clusters, finding that socio-economic status and ICT availability and use at home are the most important factors differentiating student profiles. Our findings suggest the need to emphasize (i) proper ICT accessibility and use, as well as student support networks to improve academic performance, (ii) gender-specific well-being programs, and (iii) the encouragement of educational expectations tailored to students’ gender and their exposure to higher education. These results pave the way for personalized academic policies and programs through ML-based tools for uncovering student profiles.

Telehealth-delivered recovery-orientated well-being plan group program for bipolar disorder: a pilot randomised feasibility and acceptability study.

Psychological interventions may assist in the management of bipolar disorder, but few studies have assessed the use of group therapy programs using telehealth. The present study aimed to assess the feasibility and acceptability of a well-being group program for people living with bipolar disorder designed to be delivered via telehealth (Zoom platform) using a randomised controlled pilot design. Participants were randomly assigned to either the 8-week well-being plan treatment condition or the wait-list control condition. They were administered a structured diagnostic instrument to confirm bipolar disorder diagnosis followed by a set of self-report questionnaires relating to mood, quality of life, personal recovery, and stigma. A total of 32 participants (16 treatment; 16 control) were randomised with 12 participants completing the intervention, and 13 the control condition. The program appeared acceptable and feasible (75% retention rate) with a mean attendance being reported of 7.25 sessions attended out of a possible 8 sessions. Participants reported high levels of satisfaction overall with the intervention, with a mean score of 9.18 out of 10. Preliminary evidence suggests that delivery of the group program online is feasible and acceptable for participants living with bipolar disorder. As the program was designed to prevent relapse over time, further research is needed to determine if the program may be helpful in improving symptom outcomes over a longer follow-up period.

Awareness and use of Canadian Armed Forces mental wellbeing programs and resources among Regular Force personnel

To support broader efforts to empower military personnel to improve their health and wellbeing, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) have implemented numerous mental wellbeing programs and resources. The aim of the present study was to better understand factors that may drive awareness and use of these programs/resources. Data from the Your Say Survey, which is routinely administered to CAF members to assess their perceptions of policies and programs, were analyzed to identify key predictors of awareness and use of programs and resources promoting positive mental health at the individual, unit leader, and organizational levels. The survey was completed in 2021 by a stratified random sample of 1,743 Regular Force members, which was weighted to be representative of the CAF Regular Force population. Awareness of most programs/resources that were considered was found to be quite high, whereas use was comparatively low. Results of logistic regression analyses revealed that program/resource awareness was generally lower among younger CAF members, those who were single and had no dependent children, and those who indicated their supervisors infrequently demonstrated positive behaviours around mental health. Awareness also varied depending on the organizational command in which CAF members worked. It was found that CAF members were generally more likely to have used the program/resource if they reported poorer self-rated mental health and were older. Similar to program/resource awareness, use varied significantly depending on CAF members’ organizational command. The potential implications of these findings for enhancing awareness of mental wellbeing programs and resources in the CAF, and in occupational settings as a whole, are discussed.

Co-designing the Family Wellbeing Program to Address Mental Health Disparities in a Latino Community: Lessons Learned

Abstract: Background: Latino caregivers caring for children under 5 years old who are under resourced, and underserved may be most vulnerable for experiencing mental health problems. Furthermore, Latino families with young children—during the COVID-19 pandemic—were at particular risk for multiple and concurrent stressors and acute adversities. Objectives: The Family Wellbeing Program (FWP) was designed to strengthen Latino caregivers’ mental health and mental well-being, and facilitate their access to mental health supports and service providers. Methods: Using the principles of community-based participatory research, a university research team and staff from a federally qualified health care center co-developed and implemented the FWP. Pre- and post-implementation focus groups with six staff were conducted and data analysis was guided by the RE-AIM framework. Results: Staff identified implementation challenges related to the pandemic and socioenvironmental factors affecting the reach and participation of Latino families. Staff perceived the program improved caregivers’ help-seeking behaviors, yet suggestions for improving the FWP for Latino caregivers were noted. Staff also discussed implementation strategies to sustain future programming. Conclusions: Implementation strategies along the RE-AIM dimensions were identified to improve the participation of Latino caregivers in future adaptations of the FWP. The implications of this work could show promise for sustaining programs designed to address disparities in mental health among Latino caregivers.

The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Improving Workplace Well-Being: A Systematic Review

In recent years, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly increased in the field of workplace well-being. This study systematically reviews the most common applications of AI in this context, covering literature published between 2018 and 2023, and evaluates both its current and potential impact. The research involved a comprehensive search in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, following PRISMA guidelines, resulting in 31 articles that met the inclusion criteria. The qualitative synthesis reveals that AI is being utilized in areas such as mental health monitoring, emotional support, personalized well-being programs, identification of psychosocial risk factors, and training and development. This review contributes to the existing literature by offering a detailed categorization of AI applications in workplace well-being, and it highlights the practical utility of AI in enhancing employee mental health and overall well-being. The findings suggest that AI has the potential to revolutionize the management of workplace well-being, providing actionable insights for both researchers and practitioners. Recommendations for future research are also discussed.
