Makna Simbolik dalam Tradisi Adat Khatam Al-Qur’an Pada Acara Pernikahan Oleh Masyarakat Desa Sekernan Muaro Jambi

Every Muslim has various forms of interaction with the Qur'an. For example, the people of Sekernan Village make the recitation of khataman al-Qur'an part of the traditional wedding procession. In practice, this tradition has a unique procession that acculturates with local culture. Therefore, the community makes this tradition a religious ritual in the form of meaningful symbols that are believed to have a positive influence on the sustainability of building a household. So, this research aims to look at the procession and the meaning behind the practice. Using Clifford Geertz's theory, it is used as an analysis to find the meaning behind the symbols in the traditional tradition of khatam al-Qur'an. The results of this study show that there are several series of customs that must be carried out by the bride before reading the Qur'an. Among them are the procession of processions, weighing, then reading the khatam al-Qur'an starting from surah al-Duha to surah an-Nas accompanied by the Koran teacher and his parents. In addition, this tradition also has symbols that relate to the concept of religion, namely in the form of religious education, birrul walidain, and privileges that are believed to have ultimate meaning, so that it continues to be maintained to this day.

Shifting Traditional Values Teaching Sasak Tribe Community from Maqashid Asy-Syari'ah Perspective

The tradition of memulang is a tradition carried out by the Sasak People as part of the wedding process. In carrying on this tradition, a young man took away his bride without any of the family knowing about it. Focus of this research is (1) what are the factors behind the shift values that occur in the marriage process (2) what is the analiyze of the shift in values toward the memulang tradition to Sasak People in an acculturation perspective and Maqhasid Syari’ah in Gondang Village, Gangga District, North Lombok Regency. This research is a type of qualitative research. Collecting data by interviews, observation as primary data and secondary data obtained from several literatures related to acculturation and Maqhasid Syari’ah. The result showed that : the shift that occurred in this tradition of memulang was due to the modernity of the times caused by the existence of technology, development of education and the existence of apathy in Sasak tribe itself. for Maqhasid Syari’ah, this tradition is believe to be able to cause benefits that occur including stregthen the bond of the marriage, streghten nasab and streghten persemendaan, so that this perspective can be used as a punishment for memulang tradition.

Balimau Tradition in the Wedding Procession in Nagari Koto Alam, Pangkalan Koto Baru District, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province

This study examines the "Balimau Tradition in the Wedding Procession in Koto Alam Village, Pangkalan Koto Baru District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra Province". The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the balimau tradition in the wedding procession in Koto Alam Village and to describe the meaning of the balimau tradition. The theory used in this study is the symbolic interpretative theory of Clifford Geertz. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. Data collection in this study was carried out using observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data analysis technique in this study uses steps including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of this study indicate that the balimau tradition is a bathing tradition carried out by the bride and groom after carrying out the marriage contract, this tradition is carried out during the village barolek event. The implementation of the balimau tradition is to prepare the tools and materials for balimau, the bride and groom are paraded to the river, read prayers, shave the bride's hair, rub the boreh kasai on the bride and groom, rub the bungo kiambai, the bride and groom dive, wash the bride and groom's hair, bathe, use pamanih oil, distribute kotan kuniang, and wash away the remaining materials from the balimau tradition. The meaning contained in the balimau tradition is to cleanse and purify the bride and groom. The tools and materials used in the balimau tradition have meanings that are intended for the good of the bride and groom.

This study aims to find out how the review of Islamic law on pre-wedding practices. The method used in this research is library research. Sources of data used in this study include books and journal articles. The results of the study show that pre-wedding photography is an activity of taking pictures carried out by couples who are not legally husband and wife or before marriage. Some of the goals of the community doing pre-wedding photos are to document the moments of happiness of the bride and groom, the desire of a pair of husband and wife to make memories, to beautify wedding invitations, to be attached to souvenirs distributed at weddings, to be used as decoration or display during the wedding process , to simply follow others, and to follow trends. There are differences of opinion in determining the law of the practice of pre-wedding photos. The first opinion states that pre-wedding photos are haraam because they can lead a prospective husband and wife closer to adultery.

This study investigates the symbolic meaning of tradition and tries to explain the Mappacci symbols of Bugis Traditional weddings in Pomburea Village, East Kolaka Regency, Lambandia District. The employed qualitative descriptive research methodology in this research is Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis. The research data comes from the symbols used in the Bugis Traditional Mappacci wedding procession from the Pomburea Village community. This study shows that mapacci is used in three main stages: Mapacci, Barasanji, and Khamatal Al-Qur'an. 2) The Mappacci ceremony, which is interpreted as "clean" and "holy", aims to cleanse the soul and body of the bride and groom before starting household ark by cleaning everything, including "Mappaccing ati" (clean heart), "Mappaccing nawanawa" (clean mind), "Mappaccing pangkaukeng" (clean actions and behavior), and "Mappaccing ateka" (clean faith) and the symbolic meaning of the Mappacci process is: (1) The pillow represents honor, glory, dignity, and mutual respect (sipakatau); (2) the silk sarong represents self-respect, sitat istikamah, and perseverance; (3) the leaves of banana shoots represent mutual connection or continuous life; (4) the leaves of jackfruit represent noble ideals or hope and honesty; (5) the leaves of pacci represent cleanliness or purity; and (6) rice represents well-developed, blooming, and good living creatures.(8), means unity, (9) young coconut and brown sugar: both represent sweetness

Penelitian ini berlokasi di Nagari Guguak VIII Koto Kecamatan Guguak Kabupaten 50 Kota. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui rangkaian prosesi makan lomang dalam pernikahan masyarakat Minangkabau di Nagari Guguak VIII Koto Kecamatan guguak Kabupaten 50 Kota dan untuk mengetahui makna simbolik lomang pada prosesi makan lomang di Nagari Guguak VIII Koto Keacamatan Guguak Kabupaten 50 Kota. Penelitian ini menurut pendekatan analitik merupakan kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data mulai dari observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi dan triangulasi. Subjek penelitian yakni satu orang key infroman dan empat orang informan yang merupakan masyarakat asli Nagari Guguak VIII Koto yang pernah melaksanakan prosesi makan lomang tersebut sebelumnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimbulkan bahwa makna simbolik lomang pada prosesi pernikahan masyarakat Minangkabau di Nagari Guguak VIII Koto Kecamatan Guguak Kabupaten 50 Kota yakni sebagai simbol silahturahmi awal mempunyai niat yang suci karna lomang terbuat dari beras ketan putih, bambu pada lomang bermakna kekuatan yang utuh dan daun pisang yang membungkus lomang merupakan sebagai agama, karna segala sesuatu kehidupan tiangnya pada agama

This research aims to obtain data on the shift in cultural values in the customs of marriage traditions in Manna District, South Bengkulu Regency. The research was conducted in Manna District, South Bengkulu Regency for 5 months from August 2023 to December 2023. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method that is carried out through observations, observations, and in-depth interviews with customary heads, village heads, RT/RW and the Community. The results of this study resulted in the existence of a shift in customs that occurred in the Manna community of South Bengkulu Regency along with the development of the times and the progress of science and technology, another thing that makes the shift is a fairly large budget for traditional indecisive processions, making people choose modern or ordinary wedding processions.

Pastoral Counseling is a reciprocal process that occurs between the counselor and the client to achieve a common goal, namely what the counselee himself hopes, namely to get out of the problem. The meaning of pastoral counseling in the Sangihe community's pemingan tradition is: Daleng'u Wera is one of the pastoral services that can be carried out where there are pastoral functions that can be applied, namely: guiding, supporting, empowering and preventive or prevention functions. So that pastoral counseling and customs become one of the new things that can influence each other and also complement each other in their services. In this case, pastoral counseling can play an important role in the Dalengu Wera customs to facilitate open dialogue and communication, provide understanding, provide spiritual support and emotional so that both families and couples can get the right decision before entering the wedding procession. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method to see the meaning of pastoral counseling in the Daleng'u Wera betrothal tradition.

The Values of Islamic Education in the Traditional Wedding Ceremony of the Karo Tribe

This study aims to analyze what processions are relevant to Islamic education's values and the values of Islamic education in traditional ceremonies of the Karo tribe in Aji Baho Village, Biru-Biru District, Deli Serdang Regency. This research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The source of the data used is primary data collected directly by researchers, namely data obtained from informants, namely the Head of Aibaho Village, Community Leaders of Ajibaho Village, Several People of Ajibaho Village, Biru-Biru District, Deli Serdang Regency. The secondary data are village archives, records of observations, and several other documents related to research in Ajibaho village, Biru-Biru District, Deli Serdang Regency. The results of the study were. First, the procession was divided into 2, namely pre-marriage (the stage of nungkuni kata, ngembah belo selembar, nganting manuk) and the wedding procession (process rose, reconnaissance pedah-pedah / luah, prayer congratulations, traditional work perjabun singuda, belo selembar, man bersama and man sepiring) and second, the value of education in ceremonies that contain the value of tawhid, worship, morals, ukhuwah. According to the researchers' analysis, the procession and the value of education at the ceremony contain prayers, hopes for happiness, health, cheap sustenance, active effort, and obedience to worship. The value of Islamic education in the Karo tribal wedding ceremony can be seen in two processes: the premarital and when the wedding occurs.

Literary works are able to express all human problems and feelings. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research using the method of Comparative Literature. The data source used is a collection of poems by W.S Rendra includes poems 'invitation’,' Song Of The Angels’, and 'Kakawin Kawin' in the book four collections of poems. These three works were chosen because they have a connection to the wedding procession. Research techniques used are data collection, data analysis, and data inference. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is a wedding procession represented through the poem ’invitation’,’Song Of The Angels’, and ’Kakawin Kawin’. In the poem 'invitation ’and’ Song Of The Angels', both set in a church, and are going through the process of marriage. Meanwhile, the poem 'Kakawin Kawin' is set in the House of the late bride. The difference lies in different situations but each poem represents the wedding procession differently.

Accounting of Bugis Tribe Marriages in Labuhan Lombok Village: Ethnographic Study

This research aims to understand the Bugis tribe's marriage accounting for migrants in Labuhan Lombok. This research uses an interpretive and ethnographic paradigm as research methodology. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation and interviews. Interviews were conducted with four informants consisting of the bride and groom, the woman's family and the local community. The results of this research show that the series of Bugis wedding processions consisting of Memanu-manu, Massuro, MappatuAda, Mangolli, Cemme, Mappanre Temme, Mappacci, Mappabotting, Reception, and Mapparola contain the values of affection, steadfastness, honesty and family values. . The implications of this research can develop cultural accounting practices that are relevant for Bugis tribal migrants in the context of marriage.

Pantun in the classical and Digital Malay Era: A phenomenological study

This study aims to describe the function of Pantun in the Classical Malay era and the digital era in Malay society in Riau Province, Indonesia. This research is descriptive qualitative research using a phenomenological strategy. Data were collected by interview techniques, namely with humanists, chanters, and Pantun maestros, and then through documentation and observation. Pantun data was taken from representatives of the four major rivers in Riau: the Rokan, Siak, Kampar, and Indragiri. The validation of the research data was carried out using source triangulation. Data analysis was done using interactive techniques: data reduction, presentation, analysis, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the function of Pantun in Riau in the Classical Malay era was the function of communication in daily life, in traditional wedding processions and conveying feelings of affection, didactic functions, entertainment functions, and Kamal functions. The function of Pantun in Riau in the digital era is only to open and close remarks at an event, such as in traditional wedding processions and performing arts entertainment.

Krenah: The Middle Ground in the Face of the Impasse of Calculating Dates and Days at Weddings

Marriage is an important moment in human life. In various tribes and nations, marriage is a sacred moment carried out through a series of rituals or wedding processions according to the culture in the environment. In Javanese culture, especially in Selakambang Village, Purbalingga Regency, marriage is an important day that must begin with a calculation to determine the day and date of marriage by village elders in order to find the meaning of the day with good connotations. This tradition has been carried out for generations by the people of Selakambang Village, Purbalingga Regency in determining the celebration day. Interestingly, unlike in other parts of Java, this counting tradition has a middle ground when it comes to deadlocks in determining good dates and days. This research will describe krenah (ritual saving the day and date of marriage), the purpose, ritual process, and conditions for carrying out krenah (krenah). This research uses descriptive qualitative methods by conducting a phenomenological approach. This research data was obtained from observations and interviews conducted on communities, elders, traditional village heads, and community leaders in Selakambang Village, Purbalingga Regency. The results in this study explain narratively the description of the Krenah, the reasons and purposes, the ritual process, and the conditions for doing the krenah so that it is revealed why the krenah is called a middle way when the counting does not find the meaning of a good day and date and continues to be carried out until now (this research was conducted).

The presence of Mak Andam in the Lingga Malay Traditional Cultural Wedding Procession

This study aims to determine the role of Mak Andam in traditional Malay Lingga marriage using a qualitative approach. Mak Andam plays an important role in preparing brides-to-be, and its role in organizing Malay wedding ceremonies has a rich cultural and social dimension. Qualitative research methods are used to understand more deeply about Mak Andam's role, their perceptions, experiences, and perspectives on Malay marriage. This study used in-depth interviews with Mak Andam who is experienced in engaging in Malay marriages. The qualitative data obtained from the interviews were analyzed using content analysis to identify key themes related to Mak Andam's role. Research findings suggest that Mak Andam's role in Malay Lingga weddings includes a wide range of duties, from dressing the bride and groom to providing emotional support. Mak Andam also has in-depth knowledge of Malay wedding traditions and plays an important role in maintaining the authenticity and sustainability of this cultural heritage. They also have a great influence in creating meaningful experiences for the bride. This research provides a deeper understanding of Mak Andam's existence in Lingga Malay marriages, by explaining the complexity of their social and cultural roles. These findings contribute to the preservation and further understanding of traditional Malay wedding culture and may also be useful in the context of the preservation of similar cultures and customs around the world.

Cultural Harmonization in the Midst of Modernity: A Sociological Study of the Mappacci Tradition in Bugis Weddings in Purun Village, Penukal District, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency (PALI) South Sumatra

Mappacci tradition in the community of Purun Village, Penukal Sub-district is an integral part of social and cultural life that forms identity and togetherness in the community. In a sociological review, this tradition offers valuable insights into social dynamics, social structures, and social interactions in the context of marriage and Bugis family life living in South Sumatra. This article outlines the sociological aspects of the Mappacci tradition, including cultural symbolism, cultural reproduction, social structure and social conflict. First, the analysis of cultural symbolism in Mappacci reveals how symbols such as pacci leaves, pillows and silk sarongs not only have individual meanings, but also illustrate the values, norms and social structures inherent in Bugis society. Secondly, the role of this tradition in cultural reproduction illustrates how marriage practices and the Mappacci ritual help maintain cultural identity and social solidarity within the community of Purun Village, Penukal Sub-district from generation to generation. Furthermore, an analysis of the social structure of Mappacci highlights the importance of family hierarchy, defined social roles, and gender norms in shaping the wedding procession and the implementation of the tradition. Finally, a review of social conflicts identifies potential tensions between customary traditions and modern values, as well as efforts to maintain the relevance of the Mappacci tradition in the face of evolving social dynamics. With these sociological aspects in mind, this article aims to provide a deeper understanding of the role and significance of the Mappacci tradition in the context of Bugis social and cultural life. In addition, the article also underscores the importance of sustaining and preserving cultural traditions to ensure the continuity of a rich cultural identity amidst the ever-changing currents of modernization and globalization.

Eka Semaya is a composition of karawitan petegak, which takes ideas from the stylist's personal experience. Eka Semaya is taken from the word Eka, which means One, and Semaya, which means Promise. So it can be concluded that Eka Semaya is a promise made by someone who is used to describe love and affection for the opposite sex, or it can be interpreted as a determination or a commitment between two humans (men and women) in which they make this Promise or determination in a wedding procession. This work creates stories about the stylist's and his partner's life journey. It is poured into a karawitan composition using the gamelan Semar Pegulungan Saih Pitu as the medium. The creation method used in Eka Semaya's karawitan designs is Alma M. Hawkins' method, which includes several stages: exploration, improvisation, and forming. Eka Semaya's composition is divided into four rounds, totaling 12 minutes. The realization of Eka Semaya's karawitan arrangements is expected to increase young Balinese artists' creativity to create works based on personal experience and have a value of beauty and features in compositional works.
