The research aims to justify the need to improve the system of training foreign language teachers in the context of the reorganization of higher education institutions based on the identification of deficits faced by young specialists – foreign language teachers. The paper discusses the main problems in both the methodological and psychological training of graduates of specialized faculties, identified during the survey of students of specialized faculties, young professionals and teachers working in secondary schools. The author classified the problems in the field of teacher training that are faced by both teachers of specialized faculties and graduates working in schools. In addition, an attempt is made to outline possible solutions to the identified problems. The scientific novelty of the paper lies in the fact that the author put forward proposals for changing the technology of training future foreign language teachers, taking into account the identified deficits. The study is based on data obtained in academic year 2023/2024 through interviews and surveys of respondents, as well as an analysis of data posted on the websites of higher education institutions in the section “Education”. As a result of the research, the problems were identified and the corresponding solutions when designing an educational program for training students – future foreign language teachers, taking into account the requirements that they face in practice were proposed.

The discursive construction of internationalisation in Philippine Catholic university websites

This study examines how the growing priority for internationalisation is constructed in Philippine Catholic universities through a discourse analysis of institutional websites. School websites have increased relevance in the current global education milieu, where internet connectivity is an important means to communicate with current and potential teachers, students, and institutional partners. Specifically, I explore what and how notions of internationalisation are expressed in websites of higher education institutions (HEIs). This qualitative research offers the novelty of focusing on the case of top Catholic HEIs in the Philippines. Caught up in the global pressure to internationalise and the dictum and desire to preserve their religious identity, Catholic HEIs represent a cohort with nuanced practices and ideological struggles related to tensions in global, institutional, and religious priorities. The findings have implications for Catholic HEIs across the globe as they compete for higher world rankings and participate in internationalisation.

Autonomy Governance Transformation in the Higher Education Institutions Towards the Typical Models in Vietnam

Based on existing studies on university autonomy, particularly university autonomy in Vietnam, along with the examination of legal documents about the higher education system in Vietnam, and the findings from field surveys and surveys conducted on various higher education institution websites, this article aims to elucidate the autonomy model of higher education institutions. In doing so, it highlights the current state of autonomy in Vietnamese higher education. It identifies the dimensions missing from previous studies concerning university owners, both at the institutional and practical levels. The article outlines five major autonomy models for higher education institutions, which are formed by a system of mechanisms and policies in higher education. For each of these models, the research considers, analyzes, and evaluates the level of autonomy in terms of decision-making rights and self-responsibility across three fundamental areas of the university: organizational and personnel autonomy, academic autonomy, and autonomy in finance and facilities.

AN ANALYSIS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ACCESSIBILITY TOOLS ON WEBSITES

The websites of higher education institutions, due to the fact that they are addressed to multiple stakeholder groups, not only need to have an appropriately designed information structure but must also be useful. Additionally, in the case of public universities, their services are expected to be accessible to the widest possible audience, especially for people with disabilities. The accessibility tools used on websites should be quickly located, easily identifiable and user-friendly. So far, no standards have been developed regarding these issues, and therefore, there are various solutions on the web. The objective of this study is to analyze various implementations of accessibility tools on university websites in terms of their location, form of presentation and ways that enable access to them. A study was conducted in which web interfaces were evaluated with the participation of users. The experiment consisted of two parts: the first one used the eye tracking technique, whereas in the second one, a survey was conducted. The research material was prototypes of websites from four different universities. Each website had two versions differing in implementation of accessibility tools. In the study, 35 participants were divided into two groups of people. Each group was shown one of the two sets of website prototypes and the users were tasked with finding and activating a specific accessibility tool. After exploring the websites, each participant completed a questionnaire that pertained to their opinions regarding aspects such as appearance, placement and a way to access tools dedicated to people with disabilities. The obtained data, processed to the form of heatmaps and fixation maps, were subjected to a qualitative analysis. The survey results and eye tracking data were analyzed quantitatively. On the basis of performed analyzes it can be concluded that the following factors have an impact on the reduction in efficiency and productivity of users: placement of accessibility tools on university websites in a place other than the upper right corner, an indirect access to these tools or their non-standard appearance.

Widening Access for Home-Educated Applicants to Higher Education Institutions in England

There has been a rise in Elective Home Education (EHE) as a result of the global pandemic and with this, an anticipated increase in EHE students applying to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). With this increase, it is vital institutions acknowledge and prepare for widening accessibility. It is the expectation that institutions are inclusive, and this study opens discussions on the inclusivity of this applicant group and the knowledge exchange and collaboration opportunities to facilitate change. The aims of this study were to identify potential barriers in accessing HEIs for EHE students and to gain insight into the experiences of these participants. This study will create a basis for developing policies and practices to work towards building an inclusive transitional process into HEIs for all students and be instrumental in building bridges between mainstream and alternative education. Through a semi-structured interview with a HEI applicant, an online survey with 3 HEI applicants and 2 staff from admissions teams at HEIs in England, and a document analysis on the HEI websites, it is highlighted that more work is needed on improving the inclusivity at these establishments and further study into accessing EHE students for research purposes should be sought. Recommendations are shared.

Spiritual Care in the Undergraduate Nursing Degree in Portugal

Spiritual care is an essential dimension of holistic care. The purpose of this study was to identify the explicit presence of spiritual care in undergraduate nursing curricula in Portugal. Data were collected through a search in the syllabuses of undergraduate nursing degrees as displayed on the websites of higher education institutions (HEI). Of the 36 HEI, none had a course unit entitled (with title or subtitle) spirituality or spiritual care, even though all the HEI describe a common mission related to preparing nursing students for holistic care.

Improving modern library education is impossible without understanding the essential changes taking place with the library in the context of the digitalization of modern society. The purpose of the article is to study the influence of the processes of digitalization of library and information activities on the professional training of library specialists. During the study, an analysis was made of the legal framework, publications in the professional press, websites of higher education institutions, foreign projects broadcasting scientific information about the digitalization of librarianship. It is shown that digitalization affects the development of all major areas of library activities, the introduction of digital technologies leads to significant changes in the forms and methods of library services. The domestic and foreign experience of acquiring and improving digital competence in the framework of formal and non-formal education is considered. The generalization of the studied material made it possible to identify and characterize the main digitalization trends that affect library practice and the training of library staff.

TRENDS OF TEACHER TRAINING TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TRAUMA-INFORMED EDUCATION: EXPERIENCE OF DEVELOPED COUNTRIES

The article is a comparative education study of the peculiarities of teacher training for implementing a trauma-informed approach. The relevance of the topic is stipulated by the contradiction between the social demand for training future teachers to work with children who have experienced trauma and the development of such programmes by Ukrainian higher education institutions. The analysis of previous studies shows that the issue of preparing teachers to implement the tasks of a trauma-informed approach has been considered in the context of qualitative and quantitative research by foreign scholars. However, there is no analysis of the structures of professional training curricula for future teachers. Given this, the author aims to identify trends in such training based on the analysis of teacher training programmes and outline ways to implement promising practices in Ukraine. In the article, the results are obtained using the qualitative comparative research methodology. The research data was obtained by analysing the websites of higher education institutions and educational curricula aimed at preparing teachers to implement a trauma-informed approach. The results of the study are structured at the organisational and content levels. At the organisational level, the author identifies a trend towards micro-qualifications and distance learning. At the content level, the author identifies a trend towards the development of programmes for a wide range of specialists and developing integrated training courses centred around the trauma-informed approach. Among the prospects for the implementation of the studied foreign experience, the author identifies the development of both individual modules and individual teacher training programmes for the implementation of the trauma-informed approach.

The Impact of Website Services’ Quality on Users Satisfaction in Higher Education Institutions:

    This study sought to determine how consumers' satisfaction is affected by the websites of higher education institutions' service quality. The study sample involved 211 users of the website of economics, commercial and management sciences faculty of Ferhat Abbas University in Setif. Primary data were gathered via a questionnaire, and they were analyzed using SPSS.26 software.
 The study came to the conclusion that consumers' satisfaction is positively impacted by all aspects of the website service quality. Based on these results, we provided a series of recommendations, with a focus on strengthening the safety and privacy of the faculty website, designating specific staff members to respond to users, boosting the website's functionality, and implementing ongoing changes in line with users needs.

Marketing of educational programs – a study of Swedish universities through presented images

ABSTRACT Marketing of higher education through images sends a message about the targeted audience. Our aim was to investigate norms and representation in marketing images on the websites of higher education institutions. Critical visual methodology was used to study images from Swedish higher education programs in engineering, economics, and nursing. The results show a reproduction of already existing notions on societal norms and educational structure, i.e. that typical male- and female-dominated programs are still cemented in their thinking about the students targeted. Present study show that there is a potentially untapped opportunity to influence future inequality in both the labor market and in higher education through marketing. Imaging in marketing of higher education should therefore be well thought through and permeated by the pursuit of diversity in visual representations, so that stereotypical and norm-preserving images are avoided. Images that are more inclusive and show a greater variety of motif are needed.

Comparative Analysis of Educational Programs for the Training of Masters of Management in the Education Field in the Universities of the USA and Ukraine

The article is grounded on the author’s study of national educational practices for training masters of management which is based on the study of official websites of Ukrainian universities and educational programs for students of higher education of the second (master's) level of specialty 073 "Management" (Management of an educational institution), analysis of scientific works on training masters of management in the USA and the analysis of official websites of higher education institutions of the USA. The comparative analysis of educational programs for training masters of management in the educational field at universities of the USA and Ukraine was carried out. The analysis of the scientific literature, which characterizes and compares the structure and management system of higher education in the USA and Ukraine, the study of regulatory documents, that regulate educational activities at the second (master's) level of education, provided an opportunity to determine the peculiarities of approaches to the master's training of managers in the field of education in these countries. On the basis of the comparative analysis of directions, terms, methods of training, the target component, the structure of blocks and the subject matter of content components of educational programs, common and distinctive features in the preparation of masters of management in the educational field in the universities of the USA and Ukraine were identified, and directions for improvement of domestic training programs were determined. According to the obtained results, it was concluded that domestic universities are guided by the current standard of higher education of Ukraine in this specialty for formulating the purpose of the educational programs. The attention is focused on the technological aspects of management of educational institutions in the substantive components of the programs. The educational programs of US universities differ in their greater variability, which emphasizes the directing of the learning strategy of the universities educational programs to the needs of the program users.

Technical, Usability, Content and Other factors (TUCO) Framework for website upgrade in Higher Education Institution

This paper presents a framework for the upgrade of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) websites. The objectives of the research are to examine important factors for Higher Education Institutions (HEI) websites upgrade and develop a framework and guidelines for the upgrade of websites of these institutions. The framework is anchored on the requirement of any upgrade to guarantee continuity in two important roles of a HEI website, namely; the continuity of the institutional image, and the continuity of online service delivery to stakeholders. The research adopted the Design Science Research (DSR) approach which is a problem-solving paradigm and considers research as capable of bringing change through introduction of novel artefacts that address societal challenges. DSR is characterised by two major iterative cycles of build and evaluate activities that are executed until a sufficient artefact is realised. The framework was developed during the conclusion phase of the research. The Framework is named TUCO, representing the initials of the framework lenses of Technical, Usability, Content and Other factors. The lenses are connected by a hinge that holds together all the lenses and represents the flexibility of the framework which allows for an upgrade to be done by looking through at one lens or a combination of different lenses depending on the priorities of the upgrade and the resources available. Each lens has a number of components that must be considered during an upgrade. The framework contributes to the HEI websites body of knowledge and provides support and practical guideline for practitioners.

ФОРМИРОВАНИЕ ИМИДЖА ПРЕПОДАВАТЕЛЯ ВУЗА В ЦИФРОВОМ ИНФОРМАЦИОННО-КОММУНИКАЦИОННОМ ПРОСТРАНСТВЕ

Digital environment is a field of presentation of social, personal, professional image and means of inter-institutional and inter-personal communication, which are subject to transformation in constantly changing global economic and geopolitical conditions. All these circumstances impose specific requirements on the professional life of academic staff and reflect the need of competent reflection of academic staff portfolio in digital information and communication space. Moreover, the need for the presentation of comprehensive information about the university academic staff and their professional competencies is explained by the requirements for corporate websites of higher education institutions and obligatory information about their teaching staff. This requires a systematic step-by-step work aimed to form a positive image of a university. The purpose of the work is to substantiate and develop the formation of the image of a member of the academic staff in digital environment. The authors analyzed the corporate websites of 18 universities and conducted a survey of 138 students. The respondents shared their views on the importance of digital competencies of the faculty, on the image information about the faculty member, his personal, socio-cultural, professional-corporate images. The aspects of image management in modern conditions were determined. The types of teacher's activity and their representation through digital channels were investigated. The article presents a model for the formation of a teacher's image in the digital information and communication space, the innovative aspect of which is the model’s content-functional module and its development.

Survey of Available Information on the Risks and Contraindications of Oral Hormonal Contraceptives on Higher Education Websites

Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is one of the most common cardiovascular disorders after myocardial infarction and stroke. Primary manifestations include deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, which are often preventable and often underdiagnosed. Patients with inherited thrombophilia or family history of VTE are at increased risk for VTE. Acquired VTE risk factors include the use of oral hormonal contraceptives, such as combined oral contraceptive pills (COCPs) containing estrogen and progestin. Women with a family history of VTE are advised not to take COCPs; possible alternatives include use of progestin-only contraceptive pills or non-oral contraceptive methods. Currently it is unknown if young women at college are given information regarding this potential risk when seeking oral contraceptives. Thus, higher education websites can provide a potential venue to promote awareness of this risk. In this study, we reviewed a sample of higher education websites in the US to assess availability of information on oral hormonal contraceptives and their risks for young women.Methods: US higher education institutions for this survey and categorized into 5 major types: community colleges, liberal arts institutions, private for-profit institutions, public non-profit institutions, and private non-profit institutions; 25 institutions from each category were included for analysis. The study was conducted using the Google search terms “birth control pills,” “oral contraceptive pills,” OR plus the university name. Mention of contraindications, risk factors, and blood clot warnings was noted for each website and categorized as to whether the information appeared on the institution's webpage or as a link to an external reference source. Information listed was further classified by risk factors and contraindications mentioned.Results: A total of 125 US higher education institution websites were assessed. Eighteen (14.4%) of the 125 offered information on COCP-related clotting risks. Community colleges and private, for-profit institutions had no information on birth control available either on their webpage or through an external link. Only 3 of 25 (12%) liberal arts institutions discussed clotting risk information. Five of the 25 (20%) public, nonprofit institutions surveyed provided information on their student webpages; three of these 5 offering information through their website as well as through a link to an external website. Of the private, non-profit institutions surveyed, 2 (8%) provided information through their institution's website and 4 (16%) provided information through external sources. Regarding contraindications, 2 (8%) liberal arts schools provided information on their website only, identical to the percentages seen with private and public non-profit institutions. Additionally, 4 (16%) private non-profit universities and 2 (8%) public, non-profit institutions provided information only through external sources. Two (8%) public non-profit institutions provided information both on their website and through external links. Overall, only 6 (4.8%) of the 125 institutions described family history or inherited prothrombotic blood disorder as a potential contraindication or risk factor for COCP-related clotting, all 6 of which were public or private non-profit institutions.Conclusion: The results of this study raise the question of whether higher education institutions are providing the appropriate risk and contraindication information for women considering oral contraceptives as a birth control method. This suggests that there is an opportunity for more birth control education to be provided by higher education institutions. Contents of training of future youth work social workers: from the experience of Uman State Pedagogical University

The relevance of the study is that modern youth is the subject of special attention of modern society, because the change of socio-economic and political system of Ukraine has had an ambiguous impact on the consciousness and behavior of the younger generation. Today, democratic processes are observed in various spheres of life, civil society is being developed, and opportunities for personal development, initiative and creativity are being provided. The future of the state largely depends on the civic position of the younger generation, this fact increases the importance of managing the processes of national-patriotic formation of future youth work social workers in the process of studying in a higher education institution. The purpose of the article is to analyze the specifics of the educational and professional program "Social Work (Youth Work)" to prepare future youth work social workers at Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University. Research methods: systematic, problem-targeted, normative-comparative analysis of sources; content analysis of documentation, educational programs, curricula, content of active educational programs of educational components; screening of websites of higher education institutions that train future social workers for youth work. The article highlights the relevance of the introduction in the educational process of training future youth work social workers such disciplines as “Theory and practice of youth work”, “Youth in the modern community”; the content and structure of compulsory educational components of the educational-professional program “Social work (Youth work)” are revealed; methods of teaching and learning, criteria for evaluating learning outcomes of a program are presented; general and professional competencies and learning outcomes of a program are regulated and analyzed - regulated by academic disciplines. The peculiarities of the educational program for the preparation of future youth work social workers from the experience of the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University are determined.

The authors generalize and systematize the themes of theses on the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the speciality 231 Social Work, protected in Ukraine in 2020-2021.
 To inform the scientific community about the state of training and defence of Doctors of Philosophy in Social Work theses are submitted according to the following criteria: thesis theme; supervisor; date of defence; specialized academic council, council composition; the decision of the specialized scientific council on awarding the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, approved by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; thesis abstract; list of published works on the theme of the thesis.
 The source base for quantitative analysis of these themes in social work was: orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, thesis materials (theses, reviews of reviewers, official opponents, videos of the theses defence procedure), published on the official websites of higher education institutions, scientific institutions (according to the «Temporary procedure for experimenting to award the degree of Doctor of Philosophy»).

Media Representations of Academia: Mapping and Typologizing News Coverage of All Swiss Higher Education Institutions

Higher education institutions (HEIs) are pivotal organizations in knowledge societies. A growing need for societal legitimation has led many HEIs to expand their media efforts—as news media are important sources through which both the broader public and stakeholders inform themselves about HEIs. Despite this importance of the news media–HEI nexus, few studies have analyzed it, and the scholarship has considerable gaps. Most studies focus on few news outlets, specific media types, or coverage of a few research universities. Therefore, this study provides a comprehensive picture of coverage of all Swiss HEIs across diverse media. Using data from quantitative content analysis of news articles ( N = 5,732), official statistics, and HEI websites, we conducted a hierarchical cluster analysis to map coverage. We identified 6 types of HEIs that differ from official distinctions of HEIs, are portrayed differently in news media, and exhibit different structural characteristics. Only 2 types receive a high amount of coverage, showing that few large and strongly resourced universities have great advantages in the competition for visibility.
