THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GUTINMATHE'S IN BLOG-BASED LEARNING WITH A CONTEXTUAL APPROACH ON LINEAR EQUATION SYSTEM

This study aimed to determine how effective the learning is using Gutinmathe's blog with a contextual approach. This research employed a quantitative approach and ADDIE Web development method, with analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The population in this study were Year 10 students of one of the vocational high School in Pandaan, Indonesia and the samples were Year 10 students majoring in Medical Laboratory Technology from the school. The data was analyzed using the paired-sample t-test conducted by SPSS. Gutinmathe's blog learning media was validated by two media expert lecturers and one teacher. The media validation score was 78.33%, meaning that the blog media is feasible to use. The results of this study indicate differences in learning outcomes before and after using the Gutinmathe blog-based learning media, where the students' post-test answers are better than the pre-test. It shows that using Gutinmathe's blog-based learning media with a contextual approach is effective.

Analisis Kebutuhan terhadap Aplikasi “Warkop-Peduli Covid” Pada Warkop Tarakan Brewing House

Coffee shop has become a public space that provides freedom for visitors to engage in chatting, gathering and seeking information. The gathering activity that occurs can be a risk for Covid-19 transmission. The purpose to analyze the system that has been running and its weaknesses, to analyze the needs and the proposed system related to the application "Warkop Peduli Covid". This is a qualitative descriptive analysis with Evolutionary Web Development method which focuses on Context Analysis. In-depth interviews were conducted with the Coffee shop Tarakan Brewing House owner and Coffee shop visitors. The results are the needs of the owner of the Warkop Tarakan Brewing House, namely an application that immediately presents results related to the risk of transmission, updates on the latest information on the number of positive cases in Tarakan City which are officially released by the government and the presence of preventive information in the form of pictures or videos. Meanwhile, the needs of visitors to Coffee shop Tarakan Brewing House are to ensure that personal data can be kept confidential. In addition, the information presented must be readable or easy to understand. The proposed system to be developed is a Web-based “Warkop Peduli-Covid” to facilitate independent risk assessment of Covid-19 and information related to the prevention and current conditions of Covid-19. Open user interface architecture for digital multivendor ship bridge systems

Equipment found on ship bridges rarely offer consistent user interface design across the numerous systems that seafarers interact with. It is well documented in human-computer interaction research that consistency is an important aspect for reducing human error and increasing user ability to efficiently use digital systems. Current workplace regulations and design guidance do not provide a clear path towards interface consistency between different maritime vendors and equipment. Because of this, there is a need to develop new and consistent frameworks for the design of modern ship bridges and their systems. We approach such a problem by asking the following question: How can the organization of ship bridge systems enable consistent user interfaces for multivendor ship bridges? To answer this, we present work from an industry-driven project seeking to regulate the relationships between ship bridge (i) integrators and (ii) system vendors. This paper presents a user interface architecture that systematically distinguishes between system integrators and system vendors. This user interface architecture then applies web development processes and methods that, we argue, establish a framework for increased design consistency. Furthermore, this architecture presents a new path for ship bridge user interface development that adapts current state-of-the-art user interface methodologies to a maritime context. We argue that by implementing the proposed architecture framework the industry can capitalize by saving costs, increasing innovation and improving the quality of ship bridges, thereby optimizing the work environment for seafarers and overall ship safety.

Validating a size measure for effort estimation in model-driven Web development

Web development is moving towards model-driven processes whose goal is the development of Web applications at a higher level of abstraction based on models and model transformations. This brings new opportunities to the Web project manager to make early estimates of the size and the effort required to produce Web applications based on their conceptual models. In the last few years, several studies for size and effort estimation have been performed. However, there are no studies regarding effort estimation in model-driven Web development. In this paper, we present the validation of a model-based size measure (OO-HFP) for Web effort estimation in the context of a model-driven Web development method. The validation is performed by comparing the prediction accuracy that OO-HFP provides with the accuracy provided by the standard function point analysis (FPA) method. The results of the study (using industrial data gathered from 31 Web projects) show that the effort estimates obtained for projects that are sized using OO-HFP are more accurate than the effort estimates obtained using the standard FPA method. This suggests that by following a model-driven development approach, the size measure obtained at the conceptual model of a Web application can be considered a suitable predictor of effort.

An evaluation of the utility of web development methods

Although many web development methods exist, they are rarely used by practitioners. The work reported here, seeks to explain why this might be so, and suggests that, for many, the perceived benefits may be outweighed by the difficulty or effort required to learn the method. In attempting to gauge the utility of methods the authors undertook a 2-year study of 23 small web development projects, attempting to use a range of published (academic) methods. Of the 23 projects we found only one case where the developer continued to use an academic web development method throughout the lifecycle. The ability to understand a method and/or its techniques was repeatedly cited as the reason for its abandonment. Our findings also indicate a number of key areas, relating to terminology, completeness, and guidance, where existing methods may be failing their intended users. In attempting to further our understanding of web development methods we completed a comprehensive survey of web development methods; covering 52 web development methods, encompassing a range of different research communities, and drawing upon 63 different sources. Our findings here shed some light upon the confusion of methods for the would-be user. In summary, the findings are that, although there is much of value in a variety of methods, method choice is somewhat bewildering for the newcomer to the field, and many methods are incomplete in some dimension. By providing this work we hope to go some way towards supporting the software engineering community, in both academia and industry, in their understanding of the quality issues that exist with the take up and use of web development methods.
