Abstrak School education is one of the important things for the progress of the nation and State. Advanced schools and students also lie in teachers and principals, so with this the principal as a leader must be able to direct well so that it is far from existing problems. Therefore, good and good management for school principals towards improving teachers is very important. The research used is qualitative or field. The results showed that: 1) Principal Management in improving teacher performance in TK Kartini, namely, covering 4 stages of activities, namely: a) planning b) organizing c) implementation d) supervision. 2) The Management Model applied by the Principal in improving teacher performance is: a) Providing examples to teachers, by fostering good personal relationships, b) Assisting teachers in solving the problems they face, c) Appreciating the strengths and weaknesses of teachers and helping them through counseling, d) Providing provisions in encouraging the strengths, interests, and abilities of teacher members in carrying out duties, e) Emphasize democratic approaches in the formulation of goals and regulations.

PERAN KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA GURU

This This study aims to determine the leadership role of school principals in improving teacher performance. The research was conducted at SDIT Annur Cikarang Center, Bekasi Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The subject of this research is the principal of the school. The resource persons were foundations as superiors, deputy principals, and teacher representatives from level 1, level 3 and level 6. The research location was in a private school which is located at Jalan Raya Rabbit block R7 Number 1 Cikarang Pusat, Bekasi Regency. The results of the study show that the role of the school principal is in improving teacher performance through coaching teachers by participating in trainings that are held both internally and externally, the role of the principal is also to supervise through supervision activities to see directly the learning process in class, the role of the principal schools also provide motivation to teachers either verbally or in the form of awards for outstanding teachers, as well as the role of the principal in improving performance through evaluation to measure the level of success and weaknesses of teachers. The conclusions from this study indicate that the principal plays a role in increasing teacher performance. This shows that the principal has carried out his duties and functions properly.

Digital Competence of Higher Education Teachers at a Distance Learning University in Portugal

The Digital Education Action Plan (2021–2027) launched by the European Commission aims to revolutionize education systems, prioritizing the development of a robust digital education ecosystem and the enhancement of teachers’ digital transformation skills. This study focuses on Universidade Aberta, Portugal, to identify the strengths and weaknesses of teachers’ digital skills within the Digital Competence Framework for Educators (DigCompEdu). Using a quantitative approach, the research utilized the DigCompEdu CheckIn self-assessment questionnaire, validated for the Portuguese population, to evaluate teachers’ perceptions of their digital competences. A total of 118 teachers participated in the assessment. Findings revealed that the teachers exhibited a notably high overall level of digital competence, positioned at the intersection of B2 (Expert) and C1 (Leader) on the DigCompEdu scale. However, specific areas for improvement were identified, particularly in Digital Technologies Resources and Assessment, the core pedagogical components of DigCompEdu, which displayed comparatively lower proficiency levels. To ensure continuous progress and alignment with the Digital Education Action Plan’s strategic priorities, targeted teacher training initiatives should focus on enhancing competences related to Digital Technologies Resources and Assessment.

Primary Science Teachers’ Self-Efficacy Beliefs about Teaching in Malaysia

This research aimed to measure the primary science teachers' self-efficacy beliefs about teaching in Malaysia. A descriptive research design was used for this study. The sample consisted of 144 primary science teachers in Batang Padang, Perak. The instrument’s items were adapted from three different instruments and modified for this study; the components of the subscales are "Pedagogical Knowledge," "Content Knowledge," "Teachers' Effort," and "Student Engagement." The study investigated the differences in teachers' self-efficacy according to gender, and education qualifications. A T-test was used to compare the mean differences between different groups. There was a statistically significant difference between male teachers (M = 4.08, SD = 0.42) and female teachers (M = 3.93, SD = 0.39). In contrast, t-test results showed no statistically significant difference between primary science teachers who possessed different education qualifications regarding their self-efficacy. This study redounded to science education by looking at the self-efficacy judgment of science teachers and providing information about the strengths and weaknesses of teachers' self-efficacy in Batang Padang, Perak. From this study, it emerged that female teachers have a lower level of self-efficacy. Therefore, because most of the teachers are female, it is crucial to determine why female teachers have lower efficacy and their difficulties. Research should further investigate and comprehend the differences in self-efficacy beliefs based on other demographic variables. Increasing The Competence Of Teachers In Improving The Ability Of Creative Thinking And Action Of Students Through The Utilization Of Animation Learning Videos

This research is motivated by the weakness of teachers in the application of ICT in the learning process in the classroom. This is based on observations in the teacher's lesson plan that never includes ICT-based learning media. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in teacher competence in applying ICT in the learning process through in-house training. In-house training was chosen as an effort to increase teacher competence because in terms of time it does not interfere with the main task of teachers and in terms of costs it does not require a lot of money, because it is carried out internally in schools. The method used is school action research (PTS) with two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementing corrective actions, observing and reflecting. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in teacher competence in implementing ICT through in-house training for teachers at SDN 3 Sukamenak, Purbaratu District, Tasikmalaya City. Assessment through the in-house training observation rubric in cycle 1 was only 30% ready to take part in the activity, so it was included in the poor category, and the results of the assessment in the second cycle which reached a value of 80%, were in the very good category. While the teacher's activity in the implementation of learning in the second cycle is better than in the first cycle. Where the final result is an increase in teacher competence in applying ICT in the learning process with a 40% increase in the percentage.

Pelaksanaan Supervisi Kepala Sekolah Di SMP Kristen Elim Makassar

AbstractThe purpose of this study is 1) to find out the picture of the implementation of the principal's academic supervision and 2) to find out the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for implementing the principal's academic supervision. This research approach is qualitative. The data sources in this study are principals and teachers of the field of study. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of this study show that the implementation of academic supervision carried out by the principal first carried out the planning process, such as making learning tools (syllabus and rpp), supervision schedules, supervision instruments, supervision techniques, guiding teachers in carrying out learning activities in class or the field, determining the plan for the implementation of supervision and making a supervision format. The principal informs all teachers to prepare all that will be supervised. The implementation of supervision begins with data collection to find various shortcomings and weaknesses of teachers, carried out at the end of the semester, after the midterm exam. The follow-up to the implementation of the principal's supervision is to guide teachers to improve learning by providing examples, discussions, training, and consultations. Supporting factors are the readiness of teachers to receive guidance, the willingness of teachers to participate in supervision, and inhibiting factors, namely, teachers who do not prepare themselves, and all administrative components become obstacles in the implementation of academic supervision

 The current system starts with the student form evaluation, Students receive a printed page of the evaluation questions answered in Likert-scaled form. The human resource department normally is responsible in monitoring the attendance and punctuality of the employees. Classroom observation is normally conducted by the college dean with a minimum of two classes handled by each faculty member. The overall performance based on classroom and administrative evaluations which include the grades submission or records management, committee involvement, attendance and punctuality, etc. are manually computed. Identifying the top or outstanding faculty requires time and effort. There is bulk in evaluation forms being distributed to students during the evaluation period. The current process is also prone to human errors and records confidentiality, integrity and availability could possibly be compromised. In summary, it is a complex and paper heavy system. There are many points of failure. Department coordinators may fail to inform the instructors that require evaluations. Evaluation answer sheets can be miscoded. Evaluations may end up unreturned or undistributed. Classes are interrupted. Computing and producing result documents are time intensive and tedious work. Space also is a concern because of archiving the results for a period of time. The proponents’ reason in conducting the study is to design and develop a performance evaluation system with the application of data analytics capable of catering the needs of colleges and universities in doing faculty evaluation. The researcher has the desire to find a better approach or to innovate the way to evaluate, monitor and identify the strengths, potentials and weaknesses of teachers with regard their performance to help them become more competent in their field with the help of Data Analytics application. The study utilized the descriptive and developmental method of research. Since the present study was concerned with the design and development of performance evaluation system with application of data analytics, these methods were the most appropriate. The respondents of the study were the faculty members and school administrators of the College of Computer Studies Department of the institution that were involved in the survey. The study used the purposive sampling to define the target respondents for the evaluation. There were 31 faculty members and five school administrators, a total of 36 respondents. A questionnaire was used to determine the response of the respondents towards the developed system over the concept being deliberated. To evaluate the feedback of the respondents, Likert scale was used. Data were gathered through the use of normative survey, library and internet research. Observations and informal interviews were also conducted to get the views of related individuals in the study to help in formulating the conceptual framework, designing the proposed system and other areas of the study. The statistical tool used in the interpretation of data was the arithmetic mean. It was used in determining the average responses of the five options in each item of the questionnaires. Ranking the data was also used in the mean results Based on the data gathered, findings revealed that: The respondents’ rate of an average mean of 4.33, the evaluation showed that the majority of the respondents assessed the developed system as “Highly Accepted” in terms of functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability. With the usefulness index as another set of evaluation, the respondents showed that the application of data analytics in the developed faculty performance evaluation system is “Moderately Useful” with an overall mean of 4.41.

This study investigates the effect of employing digital educational games (DEGs) on motivation towards e-learning, and life skills of primary school students in more than one Arab context: in Palestine, Jordan, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates. It also investigates the need to employ these games in the educational process, the challenges which faced the employment of these games, and ways to develop their employment in the learning process. This qualitative study used a multiple case study by conducting open, semi-structured interviews on a sample of four teachers and four parents of two from each country to reveal in-depth views to clarify the mechanism of employing these digital educational games. Data were subjected to multiple case study analysis using Ary et al. (2010) model. The results show that DEGs were a contributing factor in increasing students' motivation towards e-learning and enabling them to acquire the life skills necessary to live in this era when adding these games to the elements of fun and excitement to learn in a collaborative environment. They provide students with communication, problem-solving, decision-making and technological skills. The results also show the challenges that face employing them in the e-learning process, represented in material ones, such as the weakness of the technological infrastructure, and educational ones, such as the weakness of teachers in dealing with DEGs and choosing the appropriate game for the age category and subject. The study recommends adopting the employment of DEGs officially in public education institutions, and providing material and technical support to teachers, students and parents‎.

Merits And Demerits of Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies) Teachers in Using Instructional Resources

The study elucidates the merits and demerits or strengths and weaknesses in using the instructional resources among Social Studies teachers. In the Basic Education Unit of the Department of Education, this study would give them feedback on how and what interventions would be the best to employ and reinforce to overcome their weaknesses. This study used the descriptive method of research to determine the strengths and weaknesses of teachers in teaching Araling Panlipunan ( Social Studies). The study focused mainly on the strengths and weaknesses of teachers in teaching Araling Panlipunan( Social Studies) in terms of teaching content, motivating the students, presenting the lesson, assessing student performance, and attainment of lesson objectives. Data were gathered from the Grade IV teachers who handled Araling Panlipunan ( Social Studies) subject during the study and their respective pupils in San Pablo, Isabela. The performance of the Grade IV pupils was determined in terms of their final grades in Araling Panlipunan ( Social Studies) during the School year 2017-2018 and through their percentage score in a forty-item achievement test. With these strategies, the teacher frees the students to learn using their critical thinking abilities so that they will be able to discuss crucial issues and challenges that confront them in everyday life.

BIMTEK PENYUSUNAN PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN BERORIENTASI LITERASI TANGGAP BENCANA

Educating residents around the coastal areas not only involves the central and regional governments, but also all aspects of the community structure. Considering the number of children who are victims of disasters and the lack of integration of disaster response literacy in the field of education, University of Lampung, in this case the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) also participated in educating residents around the coast, especially the South Lampung area, through the field of Education. In addition, based on the results of direct interviews with one of the Sciences Teachers of Primary School in South Lampung, it is known that the unavailability of teaching materials that build disaster response literacy and the weakness of teachers' skills in developing integrated lesson plan for disaster response. Therefore, there was a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) activity for the preparation of lesson plan oriented towards disaster response literacy of junior high school students for science teachers. Through this Bimtek, science teachers are equipped with knowledge about integrating disaster response into learning through lesson plan and learning media.

Exploring Learning Activities in Teaching Islamic Education in Preschool Classroom

In Malaysia, Islamic Education is one of the subjects listed in Standard National Preschool Curriculum has listed various methods as guidelines for preschool teachers for the teaching and learning process. Methods available include inquiry-based learning, integrated, multi-themed learning, project-based learning, mastery learning, contextual learning and learning based on intelligence diversity. Various methods used by teachers can affect the PdP of preschool Islamic Education subject. Teachers need to complete the method according to the content in the subject that can attract students and practice it. The purpose of this study is to explore the learning activities implemented in the teaching Islamic Education subject. This study was conducted based on a qualitative case study using semi-structured interview protocol questions as a research instrument. The study sample consisted of three teachers who teach preschool Islamic Education subject. This study was conducted in a private preschool in the district of Hulu Langat. The findings of the study exhibited that singing and storytelling activities as well as good examples from teachers were the activities often used and more effective on children. The implications of this study can benefit teachers in implementing more effective learning activities for preschool Islamic Education subject. In addition, those involved in the implementation of Standard National Preschool Curriculum can get courses or programs on the effective learning methods for this subject. Thus, problems related to the knowledge and weaknesses of teachers can be overcome with the exposure of more effective and easy to implement methods.

The purpose of this community service is to increase the role of MGMP physics teacher in Lebak District in developing interactive learning media innovation. Media Innovation learning the form of learning media based Videoscribe. The weakness of teachers in making media learning makes a problem to be sought solution. One of the developments in science and technology that can be utilized as an effective and efficient learning media in physics learning is by making interactive learning media based Videoscribe. The method of public service is conducted by interview, observation, socialization, and training. Community service activities in the MGMP Physics district Lebak goes well according to the results of the questionnaire feedback the level of satisfaction of partners in the implementation of devotion to the community who said that partners respond to positive response (95%) With this devotion activity. This activity adds teachers’ skills to create an interactive and innovative learning medium for preparing teaching materials in schools. Media-based Videoscribe learning is one of the latest innovations for teachers in the MGMP Physics of Lebak district.

Upaya Meningkatkan Kinerja Guru PAI dalam Menyusun RPP Berbasis Kecakapan Abad 21, Literasi dan HOTS melalui Workshop di SMP se-Depok Kabupaten Sleman

The weakness of teachers in drafting the RPP based on 21st century, literacy and HOTS in particular, is still widely seen in the mismatch between basic competency (KD) and the formulation of indicators referring to 21st century learning, literacy and HOTS, not yet appropriate between the material and learning methods used, inconsistency between learning activities with selected methods and models. This is what causes the teacher not to maximally implement planning well in the learning process in the classroom. This research aims to improve the performance of PAI teachers in drafting RPP based on 21st century, literacy and HOTS through workshop activities in junior high school in Depok District, Sleman, 2019/2020. This research uses the method of research actions performed in three cycles. The results showed that workshop activities can improve the teacher's performance in achieving a well-formulated standard. The teacher's performance in drafting the RRP of 62.5% in cycle I increased to 73.75% in cycle II, and increased to 86.25% in the III cycle. The results of this surveillance action show that the implementation of workshops can improve teacher performance.

KINERJA GURU MATEMATIKA BERDASARKAN PERSEPSI DAN KOMPETENSI SISWA SMP DI KOTA MERAUKE

This study aims to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of teachers in the teaching process in terms of aspects of mathematics teacher competency. It describes how the four teacher competencies have been running in the learning process in the classroom based on students' perceptions related to student competencies themselves using Structural Equation Modeling data analysis techniques (SEM). The study population was all junior high school students in Merauke City, Papua. The method of sampling was used proportional random sampling, which is continued by simple random sampling, to obtain a total sample of 436 students. The data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to students' perceptions about the performance of mathematics teachers consisting of 48 questions in the form of a Likert scale. The results obtained that pedagogic and social competencies are competencies that affect student competencies with mathematics teacher pedagogical competence is most influential on student competencies. Therefore, to improve student competency, teachers need to improve pedagogical and social competence.

The Evaluation of Teachers’ Performance in Terms of Pedagogic Competence and Professional Competence in Unesa Labschool Junior High School

This study was conducted to find out the description of the evaluation of the performance of Unesa Labschool Junior High School Kawung teachers in terms of pedagogical and professional competencies. The method used is qualitative research because it aims to obtain in-depth data and information, so that the goal of knowing and evaluating teacher performance can be achieved. This type of research is an evaluative research, that is, research to look for gaps between real conditions and expectations as determined by existing standards.Subjects in this study were the principal, teachers and students of Unesa Labschool Junior High School Kawung.This study was conducted in the odd semester of the 2019-2020 school year. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documents. The data analysis technique used in this study was an interactive analysis model consisting of three components, namely data reduction, triangulation, data presentation and conclusion making. The results of this study indicate that teacher performance viewed from pedagogical competencies has generally run well and accorded to the academic qualifications and teacher’s competency standards set by the government. However, the weaknesses of teachers that are still very visible are in creativity in the application of learning both methods and strategies, or in making learning media to support teaching and learning activities. Furthermore, the use of technology is still low and most teachers still use conventional methods in teaching. Whereas teacher performance in terms of professional competence is still not in accordance with academic qualification standards and teacher competencies set by the government. There are still weaknesses in the development of creativity related to media or teaching aids that support learning. In addition, the low implementation of Classroom Action Research (CAR) serves to improve the professionalism of teachers themselves. And the last is the utilization of information and communication technology for personal development that has not been maximized.

Enhancing Teachers’ Competence in the Learning of Fiqih Mawaris through the Collaboration of Conventional and Modern Media At-Tashil Digital Application at Balai Diklat Keagamaan Aceh

Problems in today’s learning includes the low competence of teachers in the use of media for teaching and learning. Among the weaknesses of teachers is the lack of the ability in using the media in learning fiqih mawaris. Many teachers still use conventional media such as markers, board and paper. This affects on the low level of students’ ability on the subject of fiqih mawaris. This study aims to understand the competence of teachers in teaching and learning fiqih mawaris through the collaboration of conventional media and digital media (the application of At-Tashil) at the training center of Balai Diklat Keagamaan (BDK) Aceh. This study adopts qualitative approaches. Data were collected through interviews, the study of documents and observations, while collected data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation of data and the withdrawal of conclusion. The results show that teachers’ competence on subjects of the fiqih mawaris was improved through the process of collaboration between conventional media and modern media of At-Tashil application.

IMPLEMENTASI SUPERVISI OLEH PENGAWAS SEKOLAH TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN GURU DALAM PROSES BELAJAR MENGAJAR

This research was motivated by the weakness of teachers in carrying out the learning process in Bandar Laksamana 1 Public Middle School. The purpose of this study is to improve the skills of teachers teaching in the classroom with the help of supervision. This research was conducted at Bandar Laksamana 1 Public Middle School. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles with. Each cycle consists of four stages such as planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study show that on the basic score, teacher teaching skills are included in the sufficient category with an average score of 60.21. After improvements were made in the first cycle, the results of the teacher's skills assessment increased to a good category with the teacher's average score of 75.54. For the implementation of the teacher's skills assessment in teaching in the second cycle again increased with a very good category with an average value of 85.75. Based on the results of the above research, researchers can conclude that with the implementation of supervision in Bandar Laksamana 1 Junior High School can improve teacher skills in teaching.

PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI GURU DALAM MENYUSUN SILABUS DAN RPP MELALUI SUPERVISI AKADEMIK DI SMP NEGERI 3 SUNGAI LALAK

This research is motivated by the weakness of teachers in preparing syllabus and plans for implementing learning. The purpose of this study is to improve teacher competence in preparing syllabus and plan for implementing learning. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Lalak. This study uses school action research which consists of two cycles. The results of the study prove, the basic data of the teacher who compiled the learning device is 67% or as many as 8 teachers who collect. While the quality of the learning device is only 3 teachers with a large number of assessments of 70 with a percentage of 25% with very little category. In the first cycle the quantity of collection of learning devices increased to 92% while the quantity for the syllabus and lesson plans was above 70 with a percentage of 75% in the good category. In the second cycle, the quantity of teachers who compiled the syllabus increased to 100%. While the quality of the 12 teachers who compiled the syllabus and lesson plans, the assessment has been above 70 with a percentage of 100% in the excellent category. It can be concluded that by applying the academic supervision can improve the competence of teachers in preparing the syllabus and RPP at SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Lalak.
