The main directions of research of virtual network communities of Kola Sami in the Russian “ethnic Internet” are considered in the context of general problems of studying cyberethnicity. The historical review presents methodological grounds for the study of cyberethnicity, key issues, ideas, results of work devoted to the features of the representation of the ethnic identity of the Kola Sami of the Murmansk region through the online Sami cultural environment, as well as the development and functioning of Internet communities aimed at preserving and promoting Sami culture. One relevant aspect is the study of contemporary ethnic and sociocultural processes that are taking place in the social reality of the small indigenous people of the Kola North and reflected in the Sami ethnic Internet communities (sites, forums, blogs, social networking groups, etc.).

On the Identity Construction and Industrial Development of "Digital Self-Maker" In Online Sales in the Digital Age

With the development of network and digital technology, modern business began to turn to online sales. Relying on digital technology, database technology and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, virtual online store has changed people's patterns of behavior, thinking and aesthetic. In the virtual network community, "Makers" are dominated by desktop transactions. According to the demands and evaluations of customers, "Digital Maker" began to transform technology, management experience, artistic design, their own mindsets and literacy, so as to advance the development of the whole network market and industrial economy.

Assistance to students in mastering skills to resist the influence of destructive online communities

The article presents the results of the impact of the Internet and virtual network communities on students. The main research method was the questionnaire of the international research project of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the UNICEF-Innocenti Research Bureau and the EU Kids Online network - Global Kids Online. The authors propose a solution to the problem of the effects of destructive Internet communities on students through the creation of a communicative field for successful socialization of students.

The article is devoted to pressing issues related to the educational, cultural and enlightening functions of the virtual network communities of the Kola Sami. The results of an empirical study are presented, the purpose of which is a quantitative and qualitative characteristic of the scientific, educational, cultural and educational content of the Sami network resources. The study showed that the educational potential of online communities targeting Sami users is significantly inferior to the capabilities of resources created for a wider audience. Cultural and educational content is most diverse in communities created on the individual initiative of cyber activists. Most Sámi virtual communities are not well developed in terms of user interaction technologies. The factors of interacting destructive processes in online and offline spaces that impede the activities of communities are identified.

How to Support Vulnerable Citizens during the COVID-19 Lockdown: A Community Initiative from Ubiquitous Network Perspectives

The current COVID-19 lockdown situation has had a negative impact on people’s connectedness which also has an influence on the well-being of the citizens (Canady, 2020; Hare-Duke, 2019; Oe, 2020). The enhancement of human interaction and networking is a key topic to sustain people’s health, and this has been on the emergent agenda during the current COVID-19 situation (Oe, 2020).To tackle this issue, one theory that could be employed is the efficacy of community members’ engagement, as proposed by McMillian and Chavis (1986), who summarised a key ‘sense of community’ model. This model suggests four main dimensions should be strengthened to engage community members in supporting vulnerable people: a sense of belonging, an emotional connection, fulfilment of needs, and influence (Bermea et al., 2019).This conceptual paper aims to enhance the discussion of how best to support vulnerable isolated citizens during the COVID-19 lockdown situation. A proposition framework suggests actionable implications with tangible recommendations for the relevant stakeholders. The authors propose two key themes to be considered: (1) how to meet needs and provide support in the virtual network community, and (2) how to implement assistive technologies as a ubiquitous network paradigm as a community safety net for all.

Currently, the important problems of network communication and the political elite are mainly outside the scope of comparative studies of political regimes. The purpose of the article is to identify the specifics of the adaptation of the elite and its political regime to the conditions of modern network communications. Based on the analysis of specialized literature, an intermediate conclusion is made – a functional approach, as a synthesis of structurally oriented and process-oriented aspects of the study of the political regime, becomes the most optimal analytical lens in the study of network communications. The author's hypothesis is the assumption that the activity of representatives of the political elite in network communications poses serious risks for maintaining the democratic foundation of political regimes. To test the hypothesis, the methodological optics of quantitative content analysis was chosen. The classification of political regimes proposed by the authors of the Swedish scientific project Regimes of the World (RoW) is considered. In a study of the political communities of network communications, it was found that despite the existence of different types of political regimes, there is a general pattern – the predominance of large communities of political leaders. At the same time, communities of parliaments and courts are mostly less popular. This phenomenon is associated by the author with the systemic risks of democracy – the effect of «technological overlap» and the growth of populism. It is emphasized that the legitimization of the political regime in many respects already occurs with the active adaptation of the political elite to the digitalization process. In the framework of the «Network Polis» model, the discussion problems of combining democracy and virtual network communities are considered.

Determinants of Knowledge Sharing in Virtual Network Communities in Organizational Context

This paper attempts to examine factors that affect knowledge sharing by individuals in virtual network communities (VNCs) from an organisational context. A research model based on the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) was developed and empirically tested using a web-based survey questionnaire. Antecedent variables are considered as organisational support, organisational culture, subjective norm, web-self-efficacy, attitude towards knowledge sharing, and intention to sharing knowledge. The results showed that attitude towards knowledge sharing, organisational culture, and subjective norm have significant positive effects on knowledge sharing intention which in turns has a significant positive impact on knowledge sharing. Additionally, organisational support indirectly impact intention through attitude. Additionally, the results revealed that web-self-efficacy gender, age, educational level, and firm's age were not significant. Implications for researchers and managers were reported.
