The relevance of the study. The phenomenon of creative universalism, universal creative personality has long attracted scientists’ attention, remaining relevant for representatives of various fields of scientific knowledge. In this regard, Florian Yuriev, contemporary architect, painter, poet, composer, musical instruments master, color scientist, and a generally “unique person” (as named by Vasyl Stus) is an illustration of such artistic achievement. Complete lack of scientific research of musical vectors of Florian Yuriev’s creative work has made it necessary to update integrative potential of the artist in the musicological environment (particularly, his ideas of “music of color” as a production mode of artistic expression) and has made this publication a scientific novelty. Main Objective. Main objective is to draw attention of musicologists to the phenomenon of a universal creative personality of Florian Yuriev and to outline possible aspects of study on the musical part of his multiple-sided artistic work.Methodology. Interdisciplinary approach served as methodological basis, along with a set of analytical methods: structural-typological (to characterize the specifics of the artist’s creative thinking); contextual-interpretative (to define expressive-semantic load of “synthetic” means of expression in his works); comparative (for poetic and sound images, as well as color painting by Yuriev); generalization method (at the stage of summary) and forecasting (at the stage of outlining further possible directions for the study).Results/Findings and Conclusions. The study demonstrates that musical part of Yuriev’s work, which is inseparable from the artist’s research in the field of color-and-sound synthesis, needs special insight. His creative ideas and embodied artistic images are not always readable at a glance; one may need a special approach to understanding, which can be reached only by looking at the whole system of the artist’s creative world. Musicologists, in particular, should be involved in the search for philosophical meaning in Florian Yuriev’s works, uncovering the mysterious phenomenon of artistic synesthesia, which is brightly implemented by this “synthesis” creative personality. There should be comprehension of the integration function of the synthetic method of artistic thinking, studying his composer’s works in the aspect of intermediality, coordinating interdisciplinary approach with musicological research methods
