Introduction: one of the motor vehicle theft cases is the Ambon District Court decision No. No.12/PID.SUS-ANAK/2021/PN.AMB which states that Ammar Peisamal alias Ammar was convicted of "grave theft" as explained in the Criminal Code article 363 paragraph (1).Purposes of the Research: This study aims to examine and discuss the actions of the perpetrators who have fulfilled the elements in Article 363 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and examine and discuss the basis for the judge's legal considerations in imposing a prison sentence of 2 years and 6 months on the perpetrator.Methods of the Research: the research method used is normative legal research. The research approach is a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The sources of legal materials used are primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials. The technique of gathering legal materials through literature studies and then analyzed through perspective using qualitative methods.Results of the Research: The results showed that the Ambon District Court Judge stated in his decision that the defendant had been legally and convincingly proven to have committed the crime of stealing this case and imposed a prison sentence on the defendant for 2 (two) years and 6 (six) months. The public prosecutor's indictment, the public prosecutor's demands and the judge's considerations in his decision have fulfilled all the elements of the offense and the conditions for imposing a sentence on the defendant. This is based on the examination at trial where the evidence submitted by the public prosecutor includes the statements of the witnesses and the statements of the accused which are interrelated. The testimony of the defendant admitted his actions and regretted it.

Vehicle Access Authentication and Driver Safety

Abstract: This paper aims with the rise in vehicle theft cases, the need for reliable anti-theft devices has become crucial. Existing vehicle lock system, including mechanical locks, car alarms, and GPS tracking, have not been able to effectively reduce theft rates. This project proposes an innovative solution using face detection technology to design and develop an advanced vehicle locking system in real time. The system allows the car module to be initiated either through face detection or by sending a status message from a cell phone. Upon receiving the message, the car module verifies user authentication. In the event of unauthorized access, a message will be forwarded to the authorized person or the owner cell phone with their photo, if the authorized person gives the permission then the ignition will be switched on. After the face detection for driver safety purpose the Alcohol content will be checked and the seat belt detection will be done. If the accident occurs while driving a car, then the message will be forwarded to the authorized people with the current location and also to the nearest police stations or to the hospitals.

Truck theft in Peru is ranked among the 10 most dangerous countries in the world. In that sense, the registered cases of vehicle theft in the year 2012 were a total of 16 357 and in the year 2019 was 20 159 stolen vehicles increasing a percentage of 18.89% in only 7 years. This paper shows as an objective, the development of the Proof of Concepts of an Advanced Security System Taser - Stungun semi-automatic for Volvo FH - 12. In this system, a TTL device (PIC) is used as hardware and a voltage booster from 5v to 5000v generating protection for the easiest and most valuable parts to steal. The proof of concept is activated by the user by buttons and sensors assigned for the protection of the truck, since the installed devices will be aesthetically located in the truck to not be found by the thief, besides being very reliable so that the driver can use it, also in its installation. The prototype will use a shock as self-defense since the system will generate an electric shock of 10 mA with a frequency of 2 seconds, which can immobilize or temporarily paralyze the thief. Therefore, it will analyze the alternatives with the help of the morphological matrix to choose the ideal solution, then we will design the electrical circuit, the programming in pseudocode, validating the proof of concepts, and the selection of the insulator. Finally, it must consider the correct selection of sensors and actuators thus allowing security reliability in different circumstances of the theft.

Penerapan Sistem Tracking Berbasis GPS pada Alat Pendeteksi Alkohol Terintegrasi dengan Arduino untuk Pengemudi Mobil Penumpang Umum

Regarding the problems faced by managers of the transportation business, namely cases of vehicle theft which still often occur, therefore an idea emerged on how owners can monitor their vehicles effectively, then accidents that usually occur due to reckless public transportation drivers due to influence of liquor. Based on the background described above, the authors aim to conduct research by creating a GPS tracking tool that is integrated with Arduino, which is able to monitor the location of the driver/vehicle and is able to reduce vehicle embezzlement, and the system to be designed is able to detect whether the driver of the vehicle is in a state of drink alcohol or not. Research has been carried out on 2 people, namely for the first person, the lowest sensor data reading was obtained, namely 22 ppm with a delay of 2 seconds for GPS readings for a distance of 3.5 km and the condition of the relay was off indicating that alcohol was not detected, and for the highest sensor data readings it was at 109 ppm with a delay of 3 seconds GPS reading for a distance of 4.2 km and the condition of the relay is on which indicates alcohol is detected. In the second person test, the lowest sensor data reading was obtained, namely 23 ppm with a 4 second GPS reading delay for a distance of 11 km and the condition of the relay was off indicating no alcohol was detected, and the highest sensor data reading was 121 ppm with a 2 second GPS reading delay for a distance 10 km and the condition of the relay is on which indicates alcohol is detected. GPS testing was carried out 10 times for each person where the longest distance tested on the first person was 42 km, and the shortest distance was 3.3 km. And for the test, the fastest delay in reading the driver's location is 2 seconds, and the longest is 5 seconds. In testing the second person, the longest distance was 12 km, and the shortest distance was 10 km. And in the test, the fastest delay in reading the driver's location point is 2 seconds, and the longest delay in reading the location point is 4 seconds.

However, the current vehicle security systems are still inadequate in ensuring the safety of vehicles, especially concerning criminal activities such as theft and robbery. To address this issue, the idea of implementing a telephone facility through research has emerged, aiming to design and create a prototype of a start engine and motorcycle alarm system using the Arduino microcontroller based on Android. The purpose of this research is to reduce the frequency of crimes that occur through tampering with vehicle contacts, with the expectation that the implementation of an improved security system will lead to a decrease in vehicle theft cases and provide better protection for vehicle owners.

The increase in vehicle theft cannot be stopped due to the increasing growth rate of vehicles which is quite lofty in urban and rural areas. The growth rate of motorized vehicles is not proportional to the growth of roads or the length of roads available. Such conditions will indirectly affect the development of urban planning. Negligence in paying attention to safety factors in parking a vehicle will facilitate the crime of motor vehicle theft. For it, the community must take preventive efforts, not just rely on security forces to overcome, or minimize opportunities for motor vehicle theft. Involving the community carries out security such as night patrols or night watch because at night it is considered very vulnerable compared to other moments of vehicle theft that happen in society when bearing the eradication of crime, the police sometimes encounter various obstacles. The role and responsibility of the Police Investigator are expected by the public to uncover cases of vehicle theft that are considered not optimal by the community because all the people who report to the authorities, here are the police, and only a small part is followed up. POWER BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DASHBOARD VISUALIZATION of LOSSES NUMBER of MOTOR VEHICLE in EAST JAVA, INDONESIA

East Java Province has a high number of motorized vehicle losses with various modes of crime. There needs to be a system that can process the data to assist the decision-making process for law enforcement officers in investigating the crime of motor vehicle theft and reducing the amount of loss. For this reason, in this research, data processing of motor vehicle theft was carried out using Business Intelligence (BI) and displayed on the Power BI dashboard. The research methodology used is literature study, interviews, data collection, implementation, evaluation, and documentation. The test results show the highest number of vehicle theft cases occurred in 2016 (1,635 cases) with the most modes using fake keys, and with the highest vehicle brand being Honda. The final result of the study shows that the presentation of data and information visually and interactively based on Power BI can help law enforcers to understand data, obtain information, and make decisions and policies to handle motorcycle theft cases. 

Embedded response technology and service cloud platform for vehicle information tracking

Based on the Indonesia national police crime database, it is reported that vehicle theft cases have increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. The database reported an increasing trend of vehicle theft, 4,065 cases from January 2019 to January 2020 in the province and regency region. Therefore, to help police officers work and minimize the criminal cases of vehicle theft, an effective strategy is needed to reduce these threats. This study proposes implementing SMS and QRcode technology embedded in the vehicle for validation information. Cloud computing capabilities can offer real-time network access to technology resources that can be physically located anywhere geographically based on business needs. This technology can rapidly search and show detailed information regarding the specific vehicle, including the vehicle owner, the vehicle registration number, and the validation of the driver's license. To implement and examine the effectiveness of the proposed technology, this study was conducted an experimental study in a real-world setting from January 2021 until April 2021 in Makassar city, Indonesia. This study concluded that the proposed technology could successfully be implemented and effectively show detailed information regarding the specific vehicle based on the experimental results. This study concluded the potential use of the proposed technology in the real world as an alternative solution to minimize the criminal cases of vehicle theft. It can be used as an alternative solution to reduce the increase in criminal cases of inter-island private vehicle theft syndicates.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the process of determining the suspect in the motor vehicle theft case at the Pohuwato Police. And to find out and analyze the factors that become obstacles in the process of determining the suspect in the motor vehicle theft case at the Pohuwato Police. Apart from the above, there are still internal obstacles within Pohuwato Police and external obstacles The suggestion in this thesis is that there is a need for a new breakthrough in terms of handling and resolving curanmor cases. In this case, new operations and methods need to be formulated so that the Pohuwato Police can handle motor vehicle theft cases effectively.

In Indonesia, it is estimated that hundreds of motorbikes are stolen every month. How is the feasibility of motorcycle safety devices and the accuracy of the RFID module. Creating a motorcycle security system using a microcontroller-based RFID-RC522 module that can be read accurately and can be monitored in real time using received SMS and test the feasibility of a motorcycle safety device that can be monitored via cellphone. Making this tool using the Prototype method. The prototype is a development method from the previous system. The results of this research are in accordance with the analysis and design that has been made to get the result of an E-KTP-based motorcycle safety device to increase the security of personal items because this device can activate and deactivate motorcycles by using SMS. This tool can also help the community in maintaining security around the surrounding environment so that they can add a double security system to motorcycle vehicles.

Property crimes are said to hover around 10 million annually. Of this, vehicle theft tops the list and often occurs in all parts of the world. In response to a Right to Information (RTI) query made by The Indian Express shows that a total of 2,801 motor vehicle thefts took place in 2020 Mumbai, where in 1,085 cases account for 39 per cent of the total cases detected. Of the total 2,801 vehicle theft cases, 2,019 cases were of two-wheelers, 185 were four-wheelers and the remaining 623 cases were thefts of other vehicles like rickshaws, tempos etc.. The methods currently involved in vehicle theft detection such as buzzers and alarms have become cognizant to everyone including the burglars and effortlessly override the system and steal the vehicle. This paper proposes a system presenting a mechanism to mitigate the possibility of vehicle thefts. The system provides security by sending an SMS message as soon the vehicle is moved or crosses Geo-Barrier grid without knowledge of owner and also provides the owner with set of actions that can also be taken. System also offers location updates timely to the registered devices through SiM7600E. New features can be periodically be added hence making it future proof.

Design and Build a Motorcycle Security Controller Using the IoT-Based GPS Tracking Method

So far, most motorcycle safety devices are still physically secure, for example a solution commonly used by motorized vehicle owners by adding safety locks to discs, chaining and so on, but owners often forget to install locks, or vehicle alarms. The result of this research is the production of a controller design tool, motorcycle safety and GPS tracking to provide information on the last location of motorized vehicles and can control remotely based on iot. which has been experienced by motorized vehicle users.

Designing Motorcycle Safety System Using Fingerprint Sensor, SMS Gateway, and GPS Tracker Based on ATMega328

A motorcycle security system has been designed using an ATMega328 microcontroller by applying fingerprint, SMS and GPS. The system consists of a GPS Module and a SIM Module. The system is designed to find the position of a stolen motorcycle via a Google Maps and create a security system on a motorcycle that uses a fingerprint sensor as a substitute for the key to turn on and turn off the motorcycle engine. ATMega328 is used as a processor, with additional GPS, GSM SIM 8000I, relay and buzzer. When a theft occurs, the system will send an SMS contained Google Maps link to the owner of the motorcycle. The results of the system design are expected to minimize the crime rate in motor vehicle theft cases.

Implementasi Aplikasi Berbasis Teknologi IoT pada Perangkat Tracking dan Kendali Kendaraan Bermotor

The increasing use of vehicles, especially motorbikes, has the potential to increase motor vehicle theft cases. The increase in motorcycle theft cases can occur due to the weakness of the owner in installing a motorcycle security system, so that it has the potential to experience losses due to theft. An indication of the problem is how to develop an application that can be used to carry out tracking that can display the position of the vehicle with integrated maps and vehicle control remotely in the event of a vehicle theft. The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology as well as information and communication technology can now be used to develop an application for wireless vehicle monitoring and control. So that it can make it easier for vehicle owners to track and control the vehicle to minimize vehicle loss. In this study using MIT App Inventor as an application development platform and using ThingSpeak as an IoT database server. Furthermore, the application will be integrated with the Tracking Device device consisting of a microcontroller, Global Positioning System (GPS) module, and a DC relay installed on the vehicle, utilizing an internet connection as a link between the application and the tracking device. The result is that vehicle position data can be displayed through a mobile application with map visualization integrated with google maps and the user can turn off or turn on the vehicle through the application with the farthest distance that has been successfully tested of 141 km. The time for the tracking device to respond to commands from the application varies from 5 to 20 seconds depending on the strength of the internet connection used.

The utilization of Safe Parking Application (SPR) for motorcycle security using Global Positioning System (GPS) in Indonesia

This study aims to create a Safe Parking Application (SPR) using Rapid Application Development (RAD) and Global Positioning System (GPS) which will control and secure motorcycles. Vehicle theft cases increase from year to year in Indonesia’s big cities. This application will be a solution to vehicle theft prevention in Indonesia’s big cities. It will alert the owner when the motorcycle is moved from its parking position. The owner will receive some detail information about the motorcycle movement i.e. the vehicle location, the history, and the live GPS. In conclusion, the utilization of SPR is a solution to prevent the increase of motorcycle theft in Indonesia’s big cities. This application uses a low-cost device as a substitute for an alarm or transmitter.

Indonesian License Plate Detection Using Morphological Operation

Technological developments have enabled the use of vehicle number plate recognition in various fields such as parking systems, e-toll payments, handling motor vehicle theft cases, traffic violations and so on. Vehicle number plate characteristics in each country have characteristics that are not the same. Each country has a standard numbering system in its writing method, colour, language and size of the license plate, so that to take the research standards for license plate numbers from other countries is not effective. Special research is needed in accordance with the format of the number plate used by the country, in this case Indonesia. This research applies simple method, morphological operations in detecting vehicle plates in Indonesia. Morphological results will be segmented to get the image of the plate character separately. The test results show that the method applied can provide a maximum accuracy of up to 100% on taking plate images with a distance of 1.5 meters.

This paper estimates the impact of climate change on the prevalence of criminal activity in the United States. The analysis is based on a 30-year panel of monthly crime and weather data for 2997 US counties. I identify the effect of weather on monthly crime by using a semi-parametric bin estimator and controlling for state-by-month and county-by-year fixed effects. The results show that temperature has a strong positive effect on criminal behavior, with little evidence of lagged impacts. Between 2010 and 2099, climate change will cause an additional 22,000 murders, 180,000 cases of rape, 1.2 million aggravated assaults, 2.3 million simple assaults, 260,000 robberies, 1.3 million burglaries, 2.2 million cases of larceny, and 580,000 cases of vehicle theft in the United States.
