The use of online learning in teaching Technical Vocational in the Senior High during this pandemic is a challenge. This study examines the impact of online learning in the Senior High School exit assessment in the Technical Vocational specializations in Alejo M Pacalso Memorial National High School. The use of phenomenological approach and thematic analysis, face-to-face talks, online interviews and observations were applied to synthesize, identify and come out with the findings. Findings confirm that education using online learning significantly impacts the exit assessment of the technical vocational learners as respondents has issues in technical, technological, physical, environmental, personal and psychological difficulties while using the said platform. Further, the research reflects that the knowledge domain can be highly met using online learning using discussion, video and learning materials as strategies but psychomotor and affective domain does not. Although some acknowledge that online learning benefits them because its self-paced, respondents clamor to be more confident when they learn the competency skills using hands-on than in online platform. Strengthening parent-teacher-stakeholders in partnership with the Department of Education will guarantee innovations, interventions and continuity of online learning to ensure high exit assessment results of senior high school technical vocational learners.

VIRTUAL WORLDS and AVATAR: BODY and VIRTUAL IDENTITY in FILM

The film Avatar is a distinct example of the representation of the virtual/actual body dualism and can provide an understanding of the matter through the use of phenomenological approach to address the issues of virtual identities and nature/virtual binary opposition. As we identify the position of the virtual body and its position in society, it might be possible to understand how society functions in individual terms in virtual space with their experiences and identity formations. Probing the Lived Experiences of Tertiary Studying Mothers: Basis for Policy Making

This study The Lived Experiences of Student-Moms in BulSU-SC: Guide for Policy Making was geared to understand the plights of the student-mom on their pursuit for tertiary education. This study included all the student-mothers who are enrolled in Bulacan State University Sarmiento Campus (BulSU-SC) for SY 2018-2019. The data was taken from the Gender and Development Office of the said campus to ensure that all possible informants are included. The study further discussed the concerns of these student-mothers from the different departments of the institution from: admission, retention, student leaves, student organization, guidance and counselling, classroom performance and interpersonal relationships. This study wanted to understand the tedious life of student-moms as they perform their dual roles: student and mother. This research made use of phenomenological approach in understanding the lives and experiences of the student-moms in BulSU-SC. The participants in this study included all the student-mothers. In order to ensure that number of informants was maximized, the researchers made use of snowball technique, which made use of the primary informants endorsing students with similar status. This was conducted between the months of September 2018 – April 2019. It was found out that despite the rigorous efforts of the government to elevate the living condition of solo-parents and student-mothers in the country, institutions for education, such as BulSU-SC failed to initiate and conceive provisions in its student handbook that will cater to the needs of student-moms. This endeavour is not only an eye opener about women’s rights but this serves as a concrete example that discrimination despite the effort of the society to improve and elevate the living conditions of women, some sectors as minute as the group of student-moms become unnoticed. From this research, it is recommended that gender sensitivity and awareness may not only be the advocacies of Gender and Development Office, but the office should be bold enough to initiate and conceive policies that will make the of experience studying mothers in the institution as they pursue education, habitable.

A Phenomenological Understanding of Music Upbringing, Education and Training

The article presents a phenomenological understanding of musical upbringing, education and training. This approach to the consideration of musical upbringing, education and training is unique because it is the first study of these phenomena from the standpoint of phenomenology. Analysis of these phenomena is carried out taking into account their connection with upbringing, education and training in general. The article notes that the problems of musical upbringing, education and training are a reflection of the problems that exist in the entire system of upbringing, education and training. It is indicated that the use of phenomenological approach can help to cope with these problems. The author uses the basic principles of phenomenological reflection, established by the German philosopher J.H. Lambert. Lambert believed that phenomenological comprehension of the truth of the phenomenon is supposed to proceed through three sequential stages: perception (sensory contact), cognition and usage of the will as a source for manifestation. According to the distinction of the three sequential stages proposed by Lambert, in the article upbringing, education and training are treated as three sequential stages of personal comprehension of the phenomenon. This comprehension of the world is actually the ultimate goal of pedagogical influence, and musical upbringing, education and training. The author concludes that music is the perfect manifestation of the world, which means that the introduction of a person to music (through three stages: musical upbringing, education, training) is actually the introduction of a person to the world, in other words, the solution of the pedagogical problem.

Decision Making Process of Female Dumagat Chieftains: An Analysis

This research entitled “Decision Making Process of Female Dumagat Chieftains: An Analysis,” aimed to understand how female Dumagat chieftains handle issues and disputes among their tribe members specifically on matters such as: Law Enforcement, Prosecution and Correction. This study aimed to know how female chieftains decide on situations that require their candid decisions. This also further investigated on what factors are being considered by these female chieftains in coming up with settlement and decisions on problems that are being presented to them by the tribe members. Finally, research also included how the tribes react on crucial decisions and how the female chieftains themselves feel about the decisions they have made which were questioned. This research made use of phenomenological approach in understanding the lives and experiences of the female chieftains in Sierra Madre, Norzagaray Bulacan. The participants in this study included all the chieftains among the different tribes. This was conducted between the months of March – May 2019. It was found out that female chieftains can experience discrimination from their male counterparts specially when it comes to settling disputes. It was also found out that these chieftains experience situations in which their decisions and positions are being questioned because of their gender. This study therefore, wanted to unearth the real-life experience of female chieftains of the Dumagat tribes. This endeavor is not only an eye opener for women’s rights advocates, but this serves as a concrete example that discrimination among women in a patriarchal society is still prevalent. From this research, it is recommended that gender sensitivity and awareness may not only be applicable for lowlanders, as they call the people in the cities, but gender sensitivity should also be disseminated among indigenous peoples.

ASPECTS OF A PHENOMENOLOGICAL APPROACH TO ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN

Nowadays there is a gap between architecture and a human, its spiritual deficiency, dehumanization of urban space and dwelling. The use of phenomenological approach can bring forth an ethical turn in theory and practice of architecture. Trying to distinguish the main principle of such approach, the author focuses on theoretical and philosophical basis of so called ‘sensual’ architecture and studies practical methods, which are used by modern architects when working with space, material, light, water, and sound.

Christian Ethics in a Corrupt Society: A Challenge to Christians in Nigeria

Christian ethics revolves around morality that concentrates on whether an action is morally good or bad. It implies that Christian ethics which is a branch of religious ethics ensures that people’s actions are in tandem with the acceptable moral standard, thereby contributing a lot in human moral development. It becomes worrisome that despite Christian ethics, corruption is perpetrated freely in Nigeria without those concerned having requisite moral Compunction to abstain from corrupt acts. This ugly situation diminishes the role of Christian ethics in human moral development. Therefore it has become necessary to examine the factors that militate against Christian ethics in Nigeria which has made it possible for people, particularly politicians to engage in all sorts of corrupt acts. The work made use of phenomenological approach. It was descriptive and analytical. The work used primary and secondary sources. The primary source includes observation while secondary sources include books, journals, internet materials, encyclopedia and so on. Despite the fact that Nigeria is predominantly Christians, Nigeria is classified as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. There is no doubt that most of the Christians do not apply Christian ethics in their workplace due to Colonialism, Secularization, Materialism, change of moral values, irreligious attitude, Family background, Western influence, Imported religion and so on.Keywords: Christian, Ethics and Corruption
