Description of Knowledge and Age of Couples of Reproductive Age Using Long-Term Contraception Methods in Kunden Hamlet, Sendangsari Village

Government policy in order to reduce the rate of population growth is the Family Planning (KB) movement. The longterm contraceptive method (MKJP) has a high level of effectiveness in minimizing the number of births. This method can be used for a long period of time, can reduce birth rates or terminate pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about MKJP and age with the use of long-term contraceptive methods. The method used in this research is to use descriptive method. The population used in this study were couples of childbearing age who live in Kunden Hamlet. Sampling in this study using probability sampling technique based on inclusion and exclusion criteria amounted to 74 respondents. The research instrument used was a questionnaire distributed to respondents. Data analysis is presented in the frequency distribution table. The results of this study found that most of the respondents had a relatively low level of knowledge, namely 50 respondents (67.6%) and the other 24 respondents (32.4%) had a sufficient level of knowledge. Based on frequency distribution data, only 2 respondents (28.6%) were aged 20 years old using long-term contraception methods (28.6%), 4 respondents were aged 20-35 years (57.1%) and those aged 35 years were only amounted to 1 respondent (14.3%). So it can be concluded that the description of knowledge about long-term contraceptive methods is in the less category. While the age is dominated at the age of 20-35 years.

Factors Influencing the Use of Long-Term Contraceptive Methods at the Noemuti Health Center, North Central Timor District

Examining the factors that influence the utilization of Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (MKJP) at the Noemuti Health Center in the North Central Timor District is the purpose of this research. The principal issue is the inadequate utilization of MKJP, one of the safest and most effective contraceptives.This research employed a quantitative methodology and a cross-sectional design. In 2021, the entire active family planning acceptor population at the Noemuti Health Center in North Central Timor Regency comprised the study population of 1,899 individuals. As indicated by the results, the proportion of the low education variable that utilized MHJP was 36.8%, whereas the high education variable accounted for 33.3%. In relation to the use of MHJP, the employment variable revealed that 43.9% of acceptors who were employed utilized MHJP, whereas the employment variable of those who were unemployed utilized MHJP. The statistical analysis indicated that age, occupation, and level of education did not have a statistically significant impact on the utilization of MHJP. Nevertheless, the hypothesis was validated as the statistical data revealed that mothers with a higher level of education exhibited a greater utilization of contraceptives. This research offers valuable insights that can be utilized to bolster the family planning initiative and promote greater utilization of MHJP in Puskesmas Noemuti, North Central Timor District.

Use of contraceptives in a high-income population: a cross-sectional study in Indonesia

Background/Aims The Indonesian family planning programme promotes contraceptive use to control population density. Counselling is widely used to improve contraceptive use. The aim of this study was to explore women's use of contraceptives before and after counselling. Methods This cross-sectional study collected data from 10 790 women across 10 districts/cities in East Java. The data obtained were analysed using descriptive statistical analysis and paired t-tests. Results After counselling, use of contraceptives increased significantly (P<0.001), from 75.8% using contraceptives before counselling to 99.98% using them after counselling. Use of the contraceptive pill notably increased from 16.7% to 40.9%. Conclusions Short-term contraceptives were most popular with women in this population. Counselling can contribute to increased use of long-term contraceptive methods.

Pengaruh Pengetahuan terhadap Pemakaian Metode Kontrasepsi Jangka Panjang di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Botania Tahun 2023

Active contraseption users in March 2020 decreased compared to February 2020 throughout Indonesia. IUD birth control in February 2020 from 36,155 dropped to 23,383. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is an influence of knowledge on the use of long-term contraceptive methods in the Botania Health Center area in 2023. This study used quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study is contraceptive acceptors at the Botania Health Center during February 2023 as many as 208 people. This research used Purposive Sampling (Slovin Technique). The data collection processed by observation and questionnaire distribution. This research statistical test using Chi-square parametric test. The results of the univariate analysis of the majority of respondents' knowledge were sufficient 37 people (54.4%) and the majority of respondents used the MKJP contraceptive method with a total of 37 people (54.4%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed a significant influence between knowledge on the use of long-term contraceptive methods in the Botania Health Center area in 2023. (p.value 0.018). The conclusion of this research there is a significant influence between knowledge on the use of long-term contraceptive methods in the Botania Health Center area in 2023. Researchers hope that health workers can further provide knowledge and introduction to MKJP to couples of childbearing age with a better approach so that they can increase the use of MKJP even better in the futur

FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN RENDAHNYA PEMAKAIAN KONTRASEPSI MKJP PADA AKSEPTOR KB WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PUJOKERTO KABUPATEN LAMPUNG TENGAH TAHUN 2022

One of the targets of the National Family Planning Movement is to invite as many new family planning participants as possible to use effective and long-term contraceptive methods so that couples of childbearing age have a long survival rate in contraceptive use and this will have a positive impact on preventing pregnancy. In Pujokerto District, there were 913 active family planning participants who visited the puskesmas to get contraceptive services. Consisting of 801 non MKJP active acceptors or 87.7%, while 112 MKJP active acceptors or 12.3%. The decrease in the percentage of participants using MKJP also means an increase in the percentage of family planning using non MKJP. This research uses simple random sampling technique. Data collection is done by interview technique. The study was conducted from April to July 2022 with Univariate and Bivariate analysis with chi square test. The results showed that the variables studied were proven to have a relationship with the use of long-term contraceptive methods (MKJP) in the Pujokerto District Health Center, namely: Knowledge (P value = 0.034), Number of Living Children (P value = 0.018) and husband's support (P value = 0.015)

The Relationship of Husband's Knowledge, Attitude, and Support to Low Interest in Use of IUD Contraceptive Methods in Work Area Community Health Center Technical Implementation Unit Melak

Introduction: The use of contraceptives at the Melak Health Center is still dominated by short-term contraceptives, while the level of use of long-term contraceptive methods, especially the IUD is still low. Melak Health Center wheres has made efforts to increase interest in the use of IUDs such as providing counseling to WUS and cross-sectoral cooperation. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes and husband's support for the low interest in using the IUD contraceptive method in the Technical Implementation Unit working area Malacca Health Center. Methods: This type of research is an analytic survey using a cross sectional design. Results: The characteristics of most wives are between 31-40 years old (48.8%), high school education (36.9%) and household members (47.6%). The research variables were mostly poor knowledge about IUD (64.3%), negative attitude towards IUD (54.8%), husband was less supportive (60.7%) and less interested in using the IUD contraceptive method (58.3%). Discussion: Knowledge is not good due to lack seeking information such as from mass media. Negative attitude is due to perception that IUD is less safe to prevent pregnancy, costs more and interferes with husband & wife relationships. Husbands are less supportive because they do not provide funds or do not deliver to IUD services. Conclusion: Husband's knowledge, attitude and support associated with low interest in using the IUD.

Knowledge Affects the Participation of Women of Reproductive Age in the Use of Long-Term Contraceptive Methods

The trend of acceptors of family planning in Indonesia so far shows less use of long-term contraceptive methods compared to short-term contraceptive methods. This may be due to limited knowledge or information obtained by women of childbearing age couples, so the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and participation of women of childbearing age in the use of long-term contraceptive methods. This type of correlation analytic research was a cross-sectional approach that was carried out in May-2012. June 2022. The research population was all female couples of childbearing age who used active contraception in the Petiken hamlet, Petiken village, Driyorejo Gresik District, totaling 345 women with a total sample of 182 women who met the inclusion criteria through simple random sampling. The data collection method was carried out directly with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that knowledge influenced the participation of women of childbearing age in the use of long-term contraceptive methods (P = 0.000). Knowledge is a very important domain in the formation of one's actions so that a good level of knowledge will determine behavior in the use of long-term contraceptive methods.

Relationship between occupation and education with the choice of IUD contraception in Pauh District, Padang City, West Sumatra.

High population growth is a significant problem faced by the Indonesian people in the field of population. Efforts to create quality families are primarily targeted at controlled population growth and increasing the quality of small families, as indicated by the increased use of rational, effective, and efficient contraceptive methods, namely the use of Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (MKJP). Referring to the 2020-2024 BKKBN Strategic Plan, the BKKBN vision has been set: "Creating quality families and balanced population growth to support the achievement of an advanced Indonesia that is sovereign, independent, and has a personality based on mutual cooperation" (BKKBN, 2021).
 The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship of education and occupation with the selection of IUD contraceptives in the work area of ​​Pauh Health Center. This research was a cross-sectional comparative. The populations in this research were all women of childbearing age (WUS), current family planning acceptors aged 15-49 years who used IUD and non-IUD contraception. The samples of this research were 49 IUD users and 149 non-IUD users. The instruments were a questionnaire.
 The bivariate analysis used Chi-Squere. The results the bivariate study found that there was a not significant relationship between occupation with the selection of IUD contraceptives (p = 0.251) and there was a significant relationship between education and the selection of IUD contraceptives (p = 0.001)
 This study concludes that there is no relationship between occupation with the choice of IUD contraceptives and there is a relationship between education and the choice of IUD contraceptives

LONG-TERM EFFECTIVENESS OF KB ELUCIDATION DURING PANDEMIC TO PREVENT BABY BOOM AT KASIH MOTHER CLINIC OLD DELI DISTRICT YEAR 2022

Contraception is the prevention of pregnancy that the user is aware of. The results of the 2019 National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) show that the percentage of women of childbearing age who have ever been married who are using family planning methods/methods to prevent or delay pregnancy in Yogyakarta reaches 53.4 percent. Meanwhile, the use of long-term contraceptive methods (MKJP) in DIY only reached 42.9 percent of all types of family planning tools/methods. With MKJP, it is more likely that there will be continued use of family planning services by couples of childbearing age (PUS) when there are short-term fluctuations such as natural disasters. The results of direct counseling from 20 WUS using Non. There are 12 WUS MKJP and 8 WUS using MKJP. The purpose of this counseling is to convey and explain long-term family planning to prevent baby booms, this counseling also helps WUS to choose long-term contraceptives for women of childbearing age to prevent a pandemic from happening in the district of Deli Tua, northern Sumatra in 2022. Counseling This was held at the Kasih Ibu clinic because many WUS chose the long-term type of family planning. Acceptors were then given informed consent as a sign of willingness of WUS as acceptor respondents. This counseling found WUS using MKJP alcohol as much as 35.80%. It is hoped that health workers can conduct direct counseling by involving family planning cadres so that they can accelerate the realization of an increase in the number of uses of MKJP.

Barriers for multiparous women to using long-term contraceptive methods in Southeast Asia: case study in Philippines and Indonesia

BackgroundMultiparous women are supposed to be able to end their reproductive cycle to decrease population growth. This study aimed to analyze barriers for multiparous women to use long-term contraceptive methods (LTCM) in the Philippines and Indonesia.MethodsThe study population was women aged 15–49 years old who have given birth to a live baby > 1 in the Philippines and Indonesia. The weighted sample size was 12,085 Philippines women and 25,543 Indonesian women. To identify variables associated with the use of LTCM, we analyzed place of residence, age group, education level, marital status, employment status, and wealth status. The final step employed multinomial logistic regression.ResultsIn both countries, the results showed that variables associated with non-user LTCM were younger women, living in rural areas with poor education. Women without partner and unemployed had higher probability to not use LTCM. Finally, low wealth status had a higher probability than the richest multiparous to not use LTCM.ConclusionThe study concluded that there were six barriers for multiparous women to use LTCM in the Philippines and Indonesia. The six obstacles were living in rural areas, being younger, poor education, single, unemployed, and low wealth.

PENGARUH KONSELING KELUARGA BERENCANA TERHADAP PENGAMBILAN KEPUTUSAN ALAT KONTRASEPSI PADA IBU NIFAS

In Indonesia, the use of long-term contraceptive methods tends to decrease in 2018. One factor in the high high-risk pregnancy at the Kebaman Health Center, Banyuwangi is the increase in distance between children <2 years by 18.52% (2020). Postpartum mothers who are given counseling on family planning using the decision making tool will choose to use contraception tools according to their choices and needs. This study aims to determine the effect of family planning counseling on contraceptive decision making in postpartum mothers. The research method is pre-experimental with a posttest only approach with control group design. The study was conducted in the working area of ​​the Kebaman Health Center from December 2021 to January 2022 with a population of 34 postpartum mothers. Sampling used a total sampling technique of 34 respondents and divided into two groups, namely 17 respondents who received family planning counseling and 17 respondents who did not receive family planning counseling (control group). The analysis of this study used the Chi-square test. All research procedures have gone through an ethical clearance process. The results showed that 88.2% of postpartum mothers who received family planning counseling chose to use contraception and 76.5% of postpartum mothers who did not receive family planning counseling chose not to use contraceptives. The results of data analysis stated that there was an effect of family planning counseling on contraceptive decision making in postpartum mothers (p=0.000). The conclusion of this study is that family planning counseling is an important process in making contraceptive decisions. Health workers, especially midwives, are expected to always provide family planning counseling on time by using the ABPK flipchart.

FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN INISIATIF DALAM PENGGUNAAN METODE KONTRASEPSI JANGKA PANJANG

The initiative to use Long-Term Use of Contraceptive Method (LTM) among active family planning participants is still quite low with a percentage of 4.49%, this is due to several factors that influence it’s use such as maternal age, maternal parity, knowledge, husband’s occupation and socio-cultural status. So in fact the target in achieving the use of long-term contraceptive methods has not been met. The Aim was to determine the relationship between age, parity, husband's occupation, socio-culture and the use of LTM at Puskesmas Riau Silip in 2022. The research method uses case control design with a comparison cases and controls (1:1). To determine the relationship between variables used Chi Square test with a confidence level of α = 0,05. The population were all fertile age couples and active family planning participants as many as 3452 participants, while the sample is 310 samples. Based on the result of the study, there were 115 active family planning participants who used LTM (50%). The conclusions was the factors related to the use of LTM include age, parity and knowledge. For active family planning participants, they should have a better understanding of choosing contraceptives according to their family's health and welfare conditions.

Disruption in Essential Health Service Delivery: A Qualitative Study on Access to Family Planning Information and Service Utilization During the First Wave of COVID-19 Pandemic in Uganda.

BackgroundCoronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remains a challenge to public health with profound impact on people’s lives. With several mitigation measures implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19, these impacted on access and utilization of general health services including family planning (FP) services. The objective of the study was to understand the extent to which COVID-19 interrupted access and utilization of FP services as well as highlight the challenges faced during the lockdown in Uganda.MethodsA qualitative study was carried out in August and September 2020 across the country. A total of 21 key informant interviews among researchers, policy makers, funding agencies, district family planning focal persons, district health officers and service providers with implementing partners were conducted. These were conducted using face to face (7), phone calls (11) and zoom (3) meetings. All interviews were audio recorded and transcribed verbatim. Transcripts were used to identify and generate codes, sub themes and themes. Analysis was done using the thematic framework analysis and results presented in themes.ResultsFive themes were identified in this study which included; (i) financial and psychosocial needs, (ii) mobility hindrances, (iii) disrupted service delivery, (iv) responsive reproductive health services. The financial and psychosocial needs themes included: household and individual financial constraints, unpredictable future and community acceptance, loss of employment and unemployment, misconceptions and unintended pregnancies; while mobility hindrances included; restricted movement, high transport costs, and difficulty in finding transport.ConclusionResults showed that the pandemic had immediate and significant long-term effects on family planning service accessibility, utilization and delivery. The study recommends implementation of telehealth services, country-wide sensitization on use of long-term contraceptive methods, empowering village health teams and making family planning services mandatory and free to all private facilities in order to lower any disruptions during pandemics.

PENYULUHAN ALAT KONTRASEPSI IUD KEPADA PASANGAN USIA SUBUR DI DESA PUDUN JAE KECAMATAN PADANGSIDIMPUAN BATUNADUA

The rate of population growth that cannot be controlled has resulted in many impacts on the population, such as suffering from lack of food and nutrition, resulting in poor health, low education, and many unemployed people. Programs carried out by the government to reduce the rate of population growth can be carried out through the Family Planning movement and the voluntary use of contraceptives for couples of childbearing age (PUS). The government's policy on family planning currently leads to the use of long-term contraceptive methods (MKJP) such as the Intra Uterine Device (IUD). The purpose of this community service activity is so that couples of childbearing age can increase knowledge about IUD contraceptives as pregnancy prevention protection. Counseling is carried out using leaflets. The population and sample of this service are couples of childbearing age as many as 15 people. This activity was carried out at the Pudun Jae Village Hall. The results of this community service were enthusiastically received by the participants as seen from the number of couples who asked about information on the IUD contraceptive device, installation procedures, contraindications, advantages and disadvantages of using this contraceptive device in the IUD. It is recommended that outreach activities in increasing knowledge about IUD contraception can be carried out regularly with a more frequent frequency and the range of information dissemination can also be extended to families in general so that everyone, families and the community better know, understand about IUD contraceptives as pregnancy prevention protection.

Edukasi Metode Kontrasepsi Jangka Panjang di Puskesmas Pakuan Baru Kota Jambi

Indonesia is currently experiencing population problems, one of which is the population explosion or the continued significant increase in population volume in Indonesia, on the other hand the population distribution is uneven. Based on a population survey in 2010, Indonesia's population was 237.6 million with a population growth rate of around 1.49%. If the government does not succeed in reducing population growth, it is predicted that Indonesia's population in 2060 will reach 475 million - 500 million. One of the government's efforts to control the rate of population growth is through the implementation of the Family Planning (KB) program for Fertile Age Couples (PUS) with the use of contraception. The use of long-term contraceptive methods (MKJP) is still very low, the total of active family planning participants, only 17.45% of them use MKJP KB. Meanwhile, 81.23% were non use of long-term contraceptive methods users and 1.32% used traditional family planning. Public health center of Pakuan Baru in 2018 there were no active family planning participants who used long-term contraceptive methods.Therefore, it is necessary to provide education to increase knowledge of fertile age woman (PUS) about MKJP and increase the coverage of long-term contraceptive methods. Implementation time in Nopember2019-Januari 2020. The targets are women of childbearing age at the public health center of Pakuan Baru. Community service methods include survey and lecture approaches. The results obtained were that fertile age woman was able to understand about long-term contraceptive methods and willing to use long-term contraceptive methods. It is recommended that the public health center maintain the extension program related to long-term contraceptive methods that has been provided.

Determinan Pemilihan Penggunaan Metode Kontrasepsi Jangka Panjang (MKJP) di Puskesmas Sungai Jingah

The purpose of this research is to know the use of determinant Long-term Contraceptive Methods (MKJP) in the Puskesmas Sungai Jingah 2019. This research method using analytic survey with the use of cross sectional. The population is mothers who do visit KB acceptors from January to March 2019 totaled 237 acceptors. The sample in this research is the 70 respondents. Research instrument this is questionnaire with question form and interview. Data analysis with statistical tests test chi square. The desired confidence level is 90% (a = 0,1). Research results showed the use of electoral parity with MKJP (p = 0,488), and support her husband with the use of MKJP (p = 0,003), statistically parity has no relationship with the use of Long-term Contraceptive Methods (MKJP). While the husband support the selection of Long-term use of Contraceptive Methods (MKJP). Advice for mom user KB is expected to play an active role in the efforts of the use of contraceptives, particularly long -term contraception

Pengetahuan Ibu dan Dukungan Suami berhubungan dengan Pemakaian Metode Kontrasepsi Jangka Panjang (MKJP)

The public health center Pakuan Baru Jambi cityis the public health center with the lowerst uses a method of long-term contraception.The low use of long-term contraceptive methods can be caused by ignorance about the advantages of the MKJP and the obstacle of supporthusband in using the method. This study is a quantitative study, with a cross sectional design that aims todeterminethe relationship between mother’sknowledge and supporthusband to the use of MKJPin the public health center Pakuan Baru, Jambi city. Data collection on mother’sknowledge and supporthusband using a questionnaire.As many as 42study subjects were selected by simple random sampling. This study was analyzed using the chi square statistical test.The results of the study there is a relationship between mother’sknowledge and support husband to the use of MKJP, with mother’sknowledge p value = 0.036 and support husband p value = 0,000. The results of this study can be used as a rationale for policymaking in order to increase the number of long-term family planning acceptors

The Contextual Effect of Posyandu on the Decision to Use Long Term Contraceptive in Tulungagung, East Java

Background: Family planning will help reduce population growth, fertility, improvement quality of life, women's health status, unwanted pregnancy, and abortion. The selection of the use of con­traceptives needed leads to a contraceptive that has higher effectiveness, namely the long-term contraceptive method. This study aimed to analyze contextual effect of posyandu on the decision to use long term contraceptive in Tulungagung, East Java Subjects and Method: This was a cross-sectional study conducted at 25 integrated health posts (posyandu) in Kauman health service, Tulungagung, East Java, in January 2019. A sample of 200 women of childbearing age was selected by stratified random sampling. The dependent variable was the use of long-term contraceptive method. The independent variables were age, education, knowledge, occupation, husband and family supports, women's perception, local culture, and posyandu. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a multilevel multiple logistic regression run on Stata 13. Results: The use of long-term contraceptive method increased with age ≥35 years (b= 1.68; 95% CI= 0.51 to 2.85; p= 0.005), education ≥Senior high school (b= 2.22; 95% CI= 0.97 to 3.46; p <0.001), high knowledge (b= 2.05; 95% CI= 0.75 to 3.35; p= 0.002), working outside the house (b= 1.66; 95% CI= 0.54 to 2.78; p= 0.004), strong husband and family support (b= 2.11; 95% CI= 0.87 to 3.34; p= 0.001), positive perception of long-term contraceptive method (b= 1.92; 95% CI= 0.75 to 3.08; p= 0.001), and supportive local culture (b= 1.10; CI 95%= -0.04 to 2.25; p= 0.009). Posyandu had strong contextual effect on the use of long-term contraceptive method with ICC= 26.70%. Conclusion: The use of long-term contraceptive method increases with age ≥35 years, education ≥Senior high school, high knowledge, working outside the house, strong husband and family support, positive perception of long-term contraceptive method, and supportive local culture.
