Coriolis effects on MHD newtonian flow over a rotating non-uniform surface

The roles of the simultaneous effect of Coriolis force and Lorentz force (resulting from MHD flow) in Sunspots, solar wind, and many other natural and physical phenomenon is undoubtedly significant. The impact of fluids heated by the Sun is influenced by the rotation of the earth’s surface and this necessitates the study of fluid flow over such surface as the Earth. For this reason, the significance of Coriolis force on MHD free-convection flow of Newtonian fluid over the rotating upper horizontal surface of paraboloid of revolution is explored. The relevant body forces are derived and included in the Navier-Stokes equations to obtain appropriate equations governing the flow. By nondimensionalizing the governing equations using similarity variables, the system of nonlinear partial differential equations is reduced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations which is solved using Runge-Kutta-Gills method along with Shooting technique and the results are depicted graphically. It is observed that simultaneous increase in both Coriolis force and Lorentz force causes an increase in the temperature profile of the flow. It is also observed that the effect of increasing Coriolis force on the Skin Friction and heat transfer rate is counter-balanced by increasing Lorentz force.

Numerical analysis of Carreau fluid flow for generalized Fourier's and Fick's laws

The flows of fluid due to an upper horizontal surface of paraboloid of revolution have great significance in the field of science and aerodynamic industry such as surface of a rocket, bonnet of a car and a pointed surface of an aircraft etc. Hence, present analysis focuses on the study of bioconvection MHD Carreau nanofluid flow over a paraboloid surface of revolution. Cattaneo-Christov model have been constructed by using universal Fourier's and Fick's laws to explore the heat and mass flux phenomena. The governing PDE's are transformed into ODE's via similarity approach and then numerically solved by shooting technique. The effects of relevant non dimensional governing physical parameters on velocity, energy and concentration profiles along with wall friction factor, wall heat and mass transfer coefficients are deliberated with help of graphs and tables. The calculated results for heat and mass diffusion (using generalized Fourier's and Fick's laws) are better than classical Fourier's and Fick's laws. Thus, the main aim of current paper is to calculate the unique results for generalized Fourier's and Fick's laws on nanoscale.

Gyrotactic microorganisms and thermoelectric effects on the dynamics of 29 nm CuO-water nanofluid over an upper horizontal surface of paraboloid of revolution

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide an insight into the influence of gyrotactic microorganisms and Hall effect on the boundary layer flow of 29 nm CuO-water mixture on the upper pointed surface of a rocket, over the bonnet of a car and upper pointed surface of an aircraft. This is true since all these objects are examples of an object with variable thickness. Design/methodology/approach The simplification of Rosseland approximation (Taylor series expansion of T4 about T∞) is avoided; thus, two different parameters relating to the study of nonlinear thermal radiation are obtained. The governing equation is non-dimensionalized, parameterized and solved numerically. Findings Maximum vertical and horizontal velocities of the 29 nm CuO-water nanofluid flow is guaranteed at a small value of Peclet number and large value of buoyancy parameter depending on the temperature difference. When the magnitude of thickness parameter χ is small, cross-flow velocity decreases with the velocity index and the opposite effect is observed when the magnitude of χ is large. Originality/value Directly or indirectly, the importance of the fluid flow which contains 29 nm CuO nanoparticle, water, and gyrotactic microorganisms in the presence of Hall current has been pointed out as an open question in the literature due to its relevance in imaging, ophthalmological and translational medicine informatics.

Comparison between the flow of two non-Newtonian fluids over an upper horizontal surface of paraboloid of revolution: Boundary layer analysis

Boundary layer flow of two non-Newtonian fluids past an upper horizontal surface of a paraboloid of revolution (uhspr) in the presence of nonlinear thermal radiation is investigated. A new concept of parameterization is introduced to achieve comparison between the flows of both fluids (i.e. switch momentum governing equation from Williamson fluid to Casson fluid). In this study, it is assumed that buoyancy and stretching at the wall induce Casson and Williamson fluid flow over this kind of surface which is neither a perfect horizontal/vertical nor inclined/cone. Influence of space dependent internal heat source is accommodated in the energy equation. The case of unequal diffusion coefficients of reactants A and B (high concentration of catalyst on uhspr) is considered. Since chemical reactant B is of higher concentration at the surface more than the concept described as cubic autocatalytic, the suitable schemes are herein described as isothermal quartic autocatalytic reaction and first order reaction. A suitable similarity transformation is applied to reduce the governing equations to coupled ordinary differential equations. These equations along with the boundary conditions are solved numerically by using Runge-Kutta technique along with shooting method. Comparisons of the effects of some parameters on the flow profiles are illustrated graphically and discussed.

47nm alumina–water nanofluid flow within boundary layer formed on upper horizontal surface of paraboloid of revolution in the presence of quartic autocatalysis chemical reaction

In this article, a modified version of buoyancy-induced model is considered to investigate the flow of 47nm alumina–water nanofluid along an upper surface of horizontal paraboloid of revolution in the presence of nonlinear thermal radiation, Lorentz force and quartic autocatalysis kind of homogeneous heterogeneous chemical reaction. The case of unequal diffusion coefficients of reactant A (bulk fluid) and B (high concentration of catalyst at the surface) in the presence of bioconvection is considered. Governing equation suitable to unravel the thermophoresis which takes place within the boundary layer is presented. Since chemical reactant B is of higher concentration at the surface more than the concept described as cubic autocatalytic, the suitable schemes are herein described as isothermal quartic autocatalytic reaction and first order reaction. The viscosity and thermal conductivity are assumed to vary with volume fraction (ϕ) and suitable models for the case 0%⩽ϕ⩽0.8% are adopted. The transformed governing equations are solved numerically using Runge–Kutta fourth order along with shooting technique (RK4SM). Good agreement is obtained between the solutions of RK4SM and MATLAB bvp5c for a limiting case. The influence of some pertinent parameters on velocity, temperature, diffusion of motile microorganism, concentration of bulk fluid and catalyst is illustrated graphically and discussed.
