Understanding user experience and normative data in pharyngeal residue rating scales used in flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES): A scoping review

Purpose Pharyngeal residue rating scales are often used to rate pharyngeal residue observed during flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing. Despite the widespread use of pharyngeal residue rating scales, there is no data that has systematically explored user experience. The aim of this scoping review was to investigate specific reporting of user experience, user centred design principles, and normative data in the development of pharyngeal residue rating scales. Method A scoping review was conducted across four electronic databases inclusive of all dates until June 2024. Grey literature searching occurred in March–April 2023 and was repeated in June 2024. This review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) protocol. Titles/abstracts, full texts, and data extraction were reviewed by two independent reviewers. Result A total of 22 sources were included, with 18 unique pharyngeal residue rating scales identified. Two studies referred to user experience, seven included at least one user centred design principle, and four studies reported on normative data. Conclusion The findings of this review highlight few pharyngeal residue rating scales include the experience of the intended user and establish normative data in the initial development phase. User experience, user centred design principles, and normative data may be useful considerations to optimise functionality.

Understanding User Experience with Smart Home Products

ABSTRACT There has been a surge in the popularity of smart home products. Existing literature primarily focuses on the initial adoption of these products, with less attention given to the post-adoption stage. This has created a research gap in understanding user experience (UX) and the key dimensions of user satisfaction and dissatisfaction. This study aims to address this gap by examining both positive and negative user experiences with smart home products. Using robotic vacuum cleaners as a case study, we analyze key UX dimensions derived from their positive and negative reviews on Amazon.com that influence user satisfaction and dissatisfaction, respectively. Dimensions contributing to satisfaction include “functionality,” “smartness,” and “enhanced capacity (mopping feature).” In contrast, “insufficient smartness,” “poor customer service,” and “connectivity problems” are critical dimensions for user dissatisfaction. Notably, “smartness” serves as a double-edged sword, potentially leading to high satisfaction but also significant dissatisfaction if poorly implemented. Our analysis also includes a comparative examination of robotic vacuums with traditional vacuums, highlighting the different UX dimensions associated with each product type. Using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), we further examine the configurations of these UX dimensions that contribute to satisfaction and dissatisfaction. To generalize our findings, we applied our framework to smart thermostats and proposed a UX model for smart home products. Our findings not only fill the research gap in smart home literature but also offer valuable insights for practitioners in designing smart home products and developing marketing strategies. Our research method can be applied to understand user experience with various types of smart home products and other innovative technologies.

Deciphering the evolution of metaverse - A techno-functional perspective in digital marketing

The metaverse has disrupted the traditional marketing practices and it has potential to transform entire world of marketing activities with thrilling immersive experiences. This study provides an analysis of evolving field of metaverse marketing in the context of information systems using state of the art bibliometric and scientometric tools coupled with machine learning algorithms. Utilizing 257 documents from Scopus database that published between 1996 and 2024, this research maps and unveils the development of metaverse marketing from its inception and the role of information systems in its evolution. The analysis of literature resulted in five main emerging themes of the role of information systems in metaverse marketing research as User Experience, Customer engagement, Convergence of metaverse Technology, Design of virtual goods & experience and Global Social Interaction. The major sub-themes of the study are User Behaviors and Preferences, Branding on virtual environment, Virtual reality, Virtual wearables and Virtual Socialization. This study also reveals the emerging trends and gaps in literature that pave the ways for future research expansion in the information systems and metaverse marketing. Few of the important future research areas identified are understanding user experience, design of immersive customer engagement strategies, customer virtual presence and Security & privacy concerns of the users on metaverse platform.

CoplayingVR: Understanding User Experience in Shared Control in Virtual Reality

Shared control of avatars in virtual reality is emerging as a promising method to enhance collaborative interactions. While the literature investigates shared control as an input modality to understand the design of functional experiences, the user experience associated with shared control remains underexplored. In this paper, we investigate the user experience of shared control using a networked VR environment, "CoplayingVR". Through a user study comprised of three gaming tasks in VR with 48 participants, we collect both quantitative and qualitative data on the user experience and performance of shared control. Our findings reveal that the shared control mode significantly improved user experience factors and brought novelty to the play. Furthermore, shared control significantly enhanced the task efficiency for novice users. Finally, we discuss how our findings inform the implications for research and practice of shared control for the growing body of research in VR.

Perceptions and Satisfaction of E-Health Applications: An Analytical Cross-Sectional Study in a Rural Health Center at Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu.

Introduction E-health, defined as the utilization of information and communication technologies for health services, has become integral in enhancing healthcare delivery and accessibility. This study focuses on user satisfaction and perceptions of e-health applications in rural health centers, with special focus on Tamil Nadu, India. E-health technologies have proven to be effective in addressing challenges to healthcare accessibilityand improving patient outcomes, at reduced costs. Despite these benefits, there is a need to understand user experiences in rural settings to optimize the implementation of e-health solutions. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among 383 patients registered in a non-communicable disease(NCD) clinic and specialty clinic in the rural health center of a tertiary care hospital in Tiruvallur district. Participants were selected using a consecutive sampling method from the NCD and specialty clinic registers. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect data on their perception and satisfaction with e-health applications. Data was entered in (Microsoft) MS Excel (Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, Washington, United States) and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 25 (Released 2017; IBM Corp., Armonk, New York, United States). Results The overall mean age was 49.45 ± 7 years. Among the study participants, females constituted 57.3% compared to males who constituted 42.7%. 58.3% of the participants had comorbid conditions. More than half of the study participants were educated up to the high school level. According to BG Prasad's classification, 86.9 % of the participants belonged tomiddle class and below. Among the study participants, more than half of them use their smartphones as devices for internet access to use e-health applications. The study participants who had no co-morbid conditions were 3.3 times the odds of having poor perception and satisfaction when compared to the other categories (OR = 3.3, CI = 2.1 - 5.1) in using e-health applications, and this difference was found to be statistically significant (p = 0.01). Conclusion This study's findings reveal that gender, socio-economic status, occupation, and the presence of comorbid illnesses play significant roles in shaping users' perceptions and satisfaction levels. This study's findings underscore the importance of tailored e-health interventions to address these barriers and enhance healthcare delivery in rural areas.

Novel wellbeing and repair peptide use in the UK: Netnographic findings

Recently, there has been an explosion of interest in synthetic peptides hormones promoted for wellbeing enhancement purposes, including BPC-157, TB-500 and CJC-1295. With these drugs increasingly accessible through online platforms such as e-commerce sites, this research seeks to understand user experiences of taking these drugs, and the ways in which digital forum spaces facilitate the development of a shared folk pharmacology and further indigenous harm reduction.Data is drawn from a netnography of peptide-related forum posts, encompassing 493 unique threads totalling almost 15,000 posts. Thematic analysis was used to analyse the data.Findings are split into two major sections, encompassing motivations for peptide use, and online folk pharmacology. In the first of these sections, findings explored include: Peptide use for the purposes of injury rehabilitation, including post-surgery recovery; Everyday wellbeing use of peptides, including for anti-ageing, with a particular focus on older men wishing to return to gym training for aesthetic and general health purposes; And the relationship between seeking black market peptides following negative experiences with healthcare providers for wellbeing-related issues.In the second section, key themes relate to: Community knowledge exchange regarding use, including community distribution of harm reduction information; Community understandings of the limits to utility of peptides, and experiences of product not working as anticipated; And information sharing regarding product quality, and potential harms relating to ‘scam’ sellers and substituted or poor-quality product.Conclusions show that an emergent folk pharmacology relating to peptides has developed in forum spaces, which informs and encourages use. Many older men appear to be taking peptides for everyday wellbeing purposes, suggesting a need for specific focus on this population in public health work. Issues with healthcare providers appeared to lead users to accessing black market peptides, suggesting specific education for healthcare practitioners around peptides may be important to pursue.

Revolutionizing Care: Unleashing the Potential of Digital Health Technology in Physiotherapy Management for People With Cystic Fibrosis.

This viewpoint paper explores the dynamic intersection of physiotherapy and digital health technologies (DHTs) in enhancing the care of people with cystic fibrosis (CF), in the context of advancements such as highly effective modulator therapies that are enhancing life expectancy and altering physiotherapy needs. The role of DHTs, including telehealth, surveillance, home monitoring, and activity promotion, has expanded, becoming crucial in overcoming geographical barriers and accelerated by the recent pandemic. Physiotherapy, integral to CF care since 1946, has shifted toward patient-centered approaches, emphasizing exercise training and a physically active lifestyle. The reduction in inpatient admissions due to highly effective modulator therapies has led to increased home care and online or electronic consultations, and DHTs have revolutionized service delivery, offering flexibility, self-management, and personalized care options; however, there is a need to comprehensively understand user experiences from both people with CF and physiotherapists. This paper highlights the essential exploration of user experiences to facilitate clinician adaptation to the digital requirements of modern clinical management, ensuring equitable care in the "future hospitals" arena. Identifying research gaps, this paper emphasizes the need for a thorough evaluation of DHT use in CF physiotherapy education, training, and self-monitoring, as well as the experiences of people with CF with online or electronic consultations, self-monitoring, and remote interventions. Online group exercise platforms address historical challenges relating to infection control but necessitate comprehensive evaluations of user experiences and preferences. Future-proofing DHTs within the physiotherapy management of CF demands a shift toward full integration, considering stakeholder opinions and addressing barriers. While DHTs have the potential to extend physiotherapy beyond the hospital, this paper stresses the importance of understanding user experiences, addressing digital poverty, and working toward more equitable health care access. A flexible approach in the "future hospital" is advocated, emphasizing the need for a nuanced understanding of user preferences and experiences to optimize the integration of DHTs in CF care.

Residents’ thermal comfort in Swedish newly built homes: political aesthetics and atmospheric practices

This paper draws on a case study of newly constructed passive houses in Sweden and explores how architecture and the material influence everyday life. We suggest the new aesthetics as a potential theoretical tool for understanding user experiences of low-energy housing, an approach that considers how atmospheres are produced and consumed, by whom and by what means. We approach passive house designs as the materialisation of environmental sustainability, facilitating the fulfilment of long-term goals for energy efficiency and renewable materials. In our case study, apartment designs involving lofts, timber and extensive glazing sometimes conflicted with the passive house concept once the residents had settled in their homes. Some designs, for example lofts, failed to facilitate comfortable everyday life, while designs with renewable materials enhanced a homely atmosphere. We propose to acknowledge the labour that is required by the residents of these buildings to create thermal comfort at home.

Perancangan UI/UX Website Informasi Wisata Dan Penginapan Di Kabupaten OKUS Berbasis Mobile

This research aims to design optimal user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for a tourist and accommodation information website in OKUS District. Utilizing the Design Thinking approach with its five main stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test, the study is conducted to deeply understand user needs, clearly define problems, develop creative ideas, create solution prototypes, and test design iterations. The process begins with the empathize stage, where researchers seek to understand user experiences and needs thoroughly. Subsequently, the define stage is used to specify design problems and goals. The ideate stage involves the development of various creative solution ideas. Next, prototyping is used to transform ideas into tangible solutions for testing. Finally, the test stage is conducted to evaluate user responses to the prototype. The results of this research are expected to provide profound insights into designing a responsive tourist and accommodation information website catering to the needs of users in OKUS District. The conclusions drawn from this study include recommendations for implementing improved designs based on the findings from the Design Thinking method

Qualitative perspectives of bike share schemes in Melbourne, Australia

BackgroundBike share schemes are operational in many countries and aim to encourage modal shift from sedentary to active modes of transport. Understanding user experiences of bike share schemes can contribute to knowledge of motivations to use the schemes and barriers to use. Qualitative research into user experiences of bike share schemes in Australia has been conducted in Brisbane but not Melbourne, and most bike share scheme research is non-peer reviewed literature. This study describes experiences of bike share schemes in Melbourne. MethodsSemi-structured interviews were conducted with 21 bike riders in Melbourne, Australia some of whom used bike share schemes and some who did not. Interviewees were asked about their experiences using bike share schemes in Melbourne. ResultsBike share schemes provide a way for non-users to try bike riding without needing to purchase a bicycle. E-bike schemes are beneficial to people with health issues. User experiences of bike share schemes are not only related to the service itself, but also interactions with other road users and the overall bike riding environment. Mandatory helmet legislation was a barrier to using bike share schemes due to hygiene and convenience concerns. ConclusionsBike share schemes act as an entry to bike riding for people who do not own a bicycle. E-bike fleets are more accessible to people with health or mobility issues. Mandatory helmet legislation could be limiting bike riding's mode share in Melbourne. These findings are relevant to policy makers aiming to increase bike riding's mode share, introduce or expand bike share schemes or mandatory helmet legislation, or a combination of the two.

Design and Development of Middle-Aged and Elderly Tourism Products Based on Fuzzy Decision Support System

Tourism product design and development is anxious with intricate decision-making processes that need to strike a balance between many criteria, goals, and limitations. In today's diversified and ever-changing tourist business, there are substantial sprints in developing and implementing products that appeal to middle-aged and older travellers. In this research, the utilization of fuzzy decision support system (FDSS) is investigated to personalize travel experiences for the elderly based on their unique interests and requirements. The main objective of this study is to reduce the complex tourism business patterns. This study presents a systematic framework for middle-aged and senior tourism products based on the literature on tourism trends, FDSS, and product creation in the tourism industry. This study proposes a middle-aged and elderly tourism product based on fuzzy decision support system (METP–FDSS) that employs fuzzy logic. This approach takes into account cultural sensitivities, accessibility concerns, travel preferences, and demographic data to create tourism experiences that are welcoming and immersive for older tourists. Through the application of fuzzy logic concepts, FDSS provides a flexible and robust decision-making platform that can aid in the development of personalized, inclusive, and immersive tourist experiences for the elderly. Customer happiness, accessibility, and the decision support system's ability to steer product development are all highlighted in the proposed METP–FDSS framework. Research on tourism among the middle-aged and the elderly also benefits from understanding user experience, cost effectiveness, competitive advantage, and social and environmental impact. While navigating the complexity of today's tourism sector, this study recommends using fuzzy logic as a decision support system to provide one-of-a-kind experiences for older and middle-aged tourists.

Influence of Chatbot on Consumer Purchase Intention

This research explores the intricate relationship between chatbot interactions and consumer behaviour in online service delivery and decision-making processes. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, to investigate the impact of chatbots on purchase intention. Through a comprehensive sampling strategy targeting diverse online shoppers, the research aims to provide insights into various aspects of chatbot interactions across different demographic groups and product categories. Analysis tools such as Pearson correlation coefficients and significance testing reveal nuanced relationships between variables, highlighting factors influencing consumer perceptions and behaviour regarding chatbots. Findings suggest that age plays a role in the perceived need for assistance with chatbots, emphasizing the importance of demographic considerations in understanding user experiences. Overall, this research contributes valuable insights into optimizing chatbot functionalities to enhance consumer trust, satisfaction, and purchase intention, paving the way for more personalized and effective chatbot experiences in diverse cultural contexts. Interactions with virtual therapists during motor rehabilitation in immersive virtual environments: a systematic review

Introduction: Virtual Reality applications for rehabilitation are increasing in popularity. In traditional as well as virtual rehabilitation, the guidance of an occupational therapist through physical and verbal interaction is often required. Several studies have attempted to implement a virtual therapist or assistant in immersive virtual environments for rehabilitation.Objective: This research aims to systematically review these studies, understanding the therapist’s role and how they are represented in the virtual environment, how the virtual therapist and patient interact and the experience of users. Our goal is to provide guidance for virtual therapist implementations into fully immersive virtual reality environments.Method: The researchers systematically reviewed the literature on virtual therapists in immersive virtual environments for motor rehabilitation (protocol prospectively registered with PROSPERO ID: CRD42022357369).Results and Conclusion: Seven studies were identified, with findings showing that virtual therapists are often human-like avatars that guide patients, requiring them to mimic the therapist’s movements. Visual, haptic, or one-direction audio feedback from the therapist to the patient was provided in five studies. The selected studies were all newly developed custom-made systems, with five systems developed using the same game engine. Studies carrying out user testing utilised several methods to understand user experience, evidencing a positive attitude from therapists and motivated and satisfied patients.Future Research: The roles of virtual therapists for motor rehabilitation needs to be explored further in rigorous empirical studies to gather data on patient and therapist user experience. Considerable potential was identified in the development of virtual therapists and therapeutic alliance in the virtual environment. Strengthening health service delivery and governance through institutionalizing 'Urban Health Atlas'-A geo-referenced Information Communication and Technology tool: Lessons learned from an implementation research in three cities in Bangladesh.

Urban health governance in Bangladesh is complex as multiple actors are involved and no comprehensive data are currently available on infrastructure, services, or performance either in public and private sectors of the healthcare system. The Urban Health Atlas (UHA)-a novel and interactive geo-referenced, web-based visualization tool was developed in Bangladesh to provide geospatial and service information to decision makers involved in urban health service planning and governance. Our objective was to study the opportunities for institutionalization of the UHA into government health systems responsible for urban healthcare delivery and document the facilitators and barriers to its uptake. This implementation research was carried out during 2017-2019 in three cities in Bangladesh: Dhaka, Dinajpur and Jashore. During the intervention period, six hands-on trainings on UHA were provided to 67 urban health managers across three study sites. Thirty in-depth and twelve key informant interviews were conducted to understand user experience and document stakeholder perceptions of institutionalizing UHA. Capacity building on UHA enhanced understanding of health managers around its utility for service delivery planning, decision making and oversight. Findings from the IDIs and KIIs suggest that UHA uptake was challenged by inadequate ICT infrastructure, shortage of human resources and lack of ICT skill among managers. Motivating key decision makers and stakeholders about the potential of UHA and engaging them from its inception helped the institutionalization process. While uptake of UHA by government health managers appears possible with dedicated capacity building initiatives, its use and regular update are challenged by multiple factors at the implementation level. A clear understanding of context, actors and system readiness is foundational in determining whether the institutionalization of health ICTs is timely, realistic or relevant.

Perception of Academicians towards Quality of Public Service Marketing in Pokhara

This study mainly focuses on understanding user perception and experiences towards quality of public service marketing on delivery by using the five service delivery dimensions: accessibility, cost, time, barrier and behavior. The research methodology comprises descriptive research design followed by stratified simple random sampling for permanent academic faculty members under multi stage sampling from one constitute and four affiliated college. The primary sources of data were collected through semi structure questionnaire method. Reliability and validity were tested. The study reveals that overall qualities of public service delivery dimension are moderate. The academicians were satisfied with the quality of public service delivery in Pokhara but perception was not as expected. However, the qualitative result depicted that there were major challenges in service delivery such as problem from staff, risk after payment of fees and extra efforts for completing lengthy service. In addition, environmental situation, employees’ attitude, intermediaries, and Afno Manche (known person), salary level and political interventions cause changes in behavior during public service delivery. So, public service institutions should give due attention to such issues to improve quality of service delivery. Even though there is no specific model to measure the quality of public service delivery in Nepalese context therefore, a CAT-Behavior model is recommended for measuring the quality of public service delivery in Nepalese context and it could be beneficial from different perspective.

MICROLEARNING VIDEOS THROUGH TECHNOLOGICAL, PEDAGOGICAL, AND CONTENT KNOWLEDGE: THE LENS OF USER EXPERIENCE

This research aims to explore and understand user experiences in the context of developing technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge-based microlearning videos. Qualitative research methods were employed to gain in-depth insights into how educators and learners utilize and interpret the implementation of Basic Marketing Principles through microlearning videos. The study focused on students in the 10th grade specializing in Marketing at State Vocational High School 12 Jakarta. The research approach involved data collection through in-depth interviews and participatory observations of the use of microlearning videos. The findings indicated that the developed microlearning videos received positive validation from media and content experts. Evaluations from both teachers and students revealed a high level of acceptance of microlearning videos during the learning process. Consequently, this research provides a meaningful learning experience by presenting short, focused learning media that can be easily accessed at various times and locations.

Research on Virtual Reality Experience and User Behavior from the Perspective of Psychology

Virtual reality (VR) technology has attracted a lot of attention in many fields, including entertainment, healthcare, education and industrial applications. As technology continues to advance, VR has become a powerful tool for psychological research to delve deeper into human cognition, emotion, and behavior. This thesis aims to study the relationship between virtual reality experience and user behavior from the perspective of psychology. By combining virtual reality technology and psychological theory, we explore how virtual reality affects users' perceptual, emotional, and cognitive processes, as well as users' behavior in virtual environments. We first review the development of virtual reality technology, including its definition, technical composition and application areas. We then propose a theoretical framework of psychology to explain the psychological mechanisms of virtual reality experience. This includes important concepts such as perception, attention, emotion, and cognitive load, which play a key role in understanding user behavior and experience in virtual reality. The experience of virtual reality includes not only visual and auditory perception, but also the emotional experience and physical perception of the user. We'll delve into how virtual reality creates immersion, evokes emotions, and changes the user's physical perception. At the same time, we will focus on the user's behavior in the virtual environment, including their actions, interactions and reactions. The research method is an important part of exploring virtual reality experience and user behavior. We will cover experimental design, data acquisition tools, and analytical methods to help researchers delve deeper into this area. In the empirical research section of this paper, we will present a series of specific studies that demonstrate how virtual reality affects user attention, emotion, cognition, and behavior. These studies will provide insights that will help us better understand the psychological effects of virtual reality. Finally, in the discussion and conclusion section, we will summarize the findings, discuss their connection to psychological theory, and make suggestions for future research. These studies are not only of great significance to the field of psychology, but also provide strong support for the application and improvement of virtual reality technology.

A Guided, Internet-Based Stress Management Intervention for University Students With High Levels of Stress: Feasibility and Acceptability Study.

Transitioning to adulthood and challenges in university life can result in increased stress levels among university students. Chronic and severe stress is associated with deleterious psychological and physiological effects. Digital interventions could succeed in approaching and helping university students who might be at risk; however, the experiences of students with internet-based stress management interventions are insufficiently understood. This study aims to explore the feasibility; acceptability; and changes in perceived stress, depressive symptoms, and quality of life from baseline to posttest assessment of a 5-session, internet-based stress management intervention guided by an e-coach, developed for university students experiencing high levels of stress. A single-arm study was conducted. Students were recruited from different channels, mainly from a web survey. Students were eligible if they (1) scored ≥20 on the Perceived Stress Scale-10, (2) were aged ≥18 years, and (3) were studying at one of the participating universities. Feasibility and acceptability of the intervention were investigated using several indications, including satisfaction (Client Satisfaction Questionnaire-8) and usability (System Usability Scale-10). We also investigated the indicators of intervention adherence using use metrics (eg, the number of completed sessions). Our secondary goal was to explore the changes in perceived stress (Perceived Stress Scale-10), depressive symptoms (Patient Health Questionnaire-9), and quality of life (EQ-5D-5L scale) from baseline to posttest assessment. In addition, we conducted semistructured interviews with intervention completers and noncompleters to understand user experiences in depth. For all primary outcomes, descriptive statistics were calculated. Changes from baseline to posttest assessment were examined using 2-tailed paired sample t tests or the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Of 436 eligible students, 307 (70.4%) students started using the intervention. Overall, 25.7% (79/307) completed the core sessions (ie, sessions 1-3) and posttest assessment. A substantial proportion of the students (228/307, 74.3%) did not complete the core sessions or the posttest assessment. Students who completed the core sessions reported high satisfaction (mean 25.78, SD 3.30) and high usability of the intervention (mean 86.01, SD 10.25). Moreover, this group showed large reductions in perceived stress (Cohen d=0.80) and moderate improvements in depression score (Cohen d=0.47) and quality of life (Cohen d=-0.35) from baseline to posttest assessment. Qualitative findings highlight that several personal and intervention-related factors play a role in user experience. The internet-based stress management intervention seems to be feasible, acceptable, and possibly effective for some university students with elevated stress levels. However, given the high dropout rate and qualitative findings, several adjustments in the content and features of the intervention are needed to maximize the user experience and the impact of the intervention. Challenges and Opportunities of Generative AI for Higher Education as Explained by ChatGPT

ChatGPT is revolutionizing the field of higher education by leveraging deep learning models to generate human-like content. However, its integration into academic settings raises concerns regarding academic integrity, plagiarism detection, and the potential impact on critical thinking skills. This article presents a study that adopts a thing ethnography approach to understand ChatGPT’s perspective on the challenges and opportunities it represents for higher education. The research explores the potential benefits and limitations of ChatGPT, as well as mitigation strategies for addressing the identified challenges. Findings emphasize the urgent need for clear policies, guidelines, and frameworks to responsibly integrate ChatGPT in higher education. It also highlights the need for empirical research to understand user experiences and perceptions. The findings provide insights that can guide future research efforts in understanding the implications of ChatGPT and similar Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems in higher education. The study concludes by highlighting the importance of thing ethnography as an innovative approach for engaging with intelligent AI systems and calls for further research to explore best practices and strategies in utilizing Generative AI for educational purposes.
