Health Education : Stunting Prevention in Nagari Api-Api, West Sumatra

Nagari Api-Api Pasar Baru, Bayang, Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatra is one of the areas that still faces major challenges related to stunting. Stunting is characterized by impaired growth and development in children, caused by insufficient nutrition, frequent infections, and a lack of psychosocial stimulation. Globally, 149.2 million children under the age of five (22.0 percent) are affected by this condition. Based on the results of a national survey of stunting sufferers in Pesisir Selatan for the 2023 period, there were 2,314 cases, 29.8 percent of the total number of children in the area, or an increase of 4.6 percent compared to 2022 which was 25.2 percent. Of that number, only 470 cases were children from underprivileged families and the rest were from children from well-off families. In terms of age, 795 cases were children aged 0-24 months and 1,519 cases were aged 24-59 months.Preparation of Extension Materials and Media Preparation of Extension Preparation of extension materials that include information about stunting, characteristics, causes, impacts, and prevention methods. Schmidt stated that stunting is a condition of malnutrition that occurs over a long period of time, resulting in impaired height growth in children. The Role of the Family Hope Program in Fostering Entrepreneurial Spirit in Bima

This study explores the potential of the Family Hope Program (FHP) in fostering entrepreneurship among underprivileged families in Bima City, Indonesia, as a means of poverty alleviation. The FHP, a government initiative, provides financial assistance to improve living standards, but challenges such as limited capital, market access, and distribution channels hinder entrepreneurial efforts. Using thematic analysis, the research examines how the FHP influences entrepreneurial development through training, seminars, mindset shifts, and support mechanisms. Findings show that FHP effectively encourages beneficiaries to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset, enhancing their potential for self-reliance. The study highlights the need for targeted interventions to overcome capital and market access barriers, contributing to poverty reduction efforts.

Pengembangan Kewirausahaan Dan Bantuan Sosial Di Yayasan Almani Kota Batam

This study examines the efforts in entrepreneurship development and social assistance conducted by the Almani Foundation in Batam City. The foundation's entrepreneurship development program includes skill training, business mentoring, and access to capital for local communities, especially youth and housewives. Additionally, the Almani Foundation provides various forms of social assistance such as free healthcare services, educational scholarships, and distribution of food packages to underprivileged families. The aim of these initiatives is to improve economic welfare, reduce poverty rates, and enhance the quality of life of the local community. The results of these programs show an increase in entrepreneurial skills, economic independence, and better access to basic services for the beneficiaries. With a sustainable approach and comprehensive support, the Almani Foundation significantly contributes to creating positive change in Batam City.

Pengelolaan Bantuan Pangan Non Tunai (BPNT) di Kelurahan Sangiasseri

The BPNT problem which eventually became the background of the research problem began when researchers were visiting one of the food distribution places in Sangiasseri Village in early February 2020, this market is one of the places where the community receives assistance, when researchers conducted research at the place where the community received assistance, researchers listened to residents' complaints where the assistance they received varied, some received IDR 300,000 and some received IDR 600,000. The community explained that the non-cash food assistance program received was usually charged by the management, there were also delays in disbursement where residents received once every three months which became a problem in the BPNT program. In its implementation, the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) program experienced inaccurate targeting where financially capable families received assistance, while poor families did not. So that the socio-economic welfare of beneficiaries has not increased Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) in the socio-economic welfare of beneficiaries, researchers discuss the running of the implementation of BPNT from the Sub-district, Village, RW and RT, BPNT Facilitators, and E-Warong and present findings on obstacles in the BPNT implementation system in the welfare of underprivileged families in Sangiasseri village.

CRITICAL EVALUATION OF SEHAT SAHULAT CARD AND STRATEGIZING SEHAT SCHOOL INITIATIVE: LESSONS LEARNT AND WAY FORWARD

The Sehat Sahulat Card is a government initiative aimed at providing health insurance to underprivileged families in Pakistan. Its primary objective is to improve access to quality healthcare services, thereby reducing the financial burden of medical expenses on the low-income households. The Sehat School Initiative is a proposed extension of this program, focusing on promoting health education and preventive healthcare practices among school children. This study utilizes the qualitative approach by incorporating qualitative data. Quantitative data is gathered from government health databases, insurance claims records, and surveys conducted among beneficiaries of Sehat Sahulat Card. The results provide significant information in reaching the conclusion. Sehat Sahulat Card has significantly increased access to healthcare services of underprivileged families, leading toward reduction in out-of-pocket medical expenses. Key challenges identified are logistical issues in card distribution, limited awareness amid potential beneficiaries, and constraints in healthcare infrastructure coupled with financial crunch. It is advised that there is a need to strengthen healthcare setup and capacity-building initiatives by pouring in more finances to support the increased demand generated by Sehat Sahulat Card.

VALUE BASED MANAGEMENT AT KELOMPOK USAHA BERSAMA (KUBE)

Joint Business Group/Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE) is a business scheme launched in 2010 by the Ministry of Social Affairs for underprivileged families who received social assistance from the Family Hope Program (PKH), with the idea that they will no longer depend on social assistance. KUBE has not yet achieved its goals due to low business management capabilities, weak entrepreneurial culture which has resulted low economic empowerment and performance level. This reason as an urgent need for research and development to analyze phenomena and find solutions for better KUBE performance. The aim of the research is to describe and analyze the value based management at KUBE in Bandung City. This research resulted a new findings related to the stages of determining the assumptions and legal basis used, formulating concepts and proving them into the analytical implementation of KUBE. This implementation was supported by the West Java Provincial Social Service Board in the form of providing data, information on the implementation of KUBE and facilitating the presentation of research reports. The method used is a qualitative approach with TKT at level 3. The main research output is publication on Sinta 1 or Sinta 4 and the additional outputs is a book chapter.

Peningkatan Pengetahuan Ibu-Ibu PKK Desa Papahan, Kecamatan Tasikmadu Mengenai Bakteri Escherichia coli Dalam Berbagai Makanan Di Pusat Jajanan Surakarta (Galabo)

The mother is the leader figure in a family who is responsible for managing the family's healthy food needs. Knowledge regarding hygienic food among PKK mothers in Papahan Village, Tasikmadu is still limited, because many of them come from underprivileged families and have less educational background, so basic knowledge from the family is not optimal (less attention is paid to it). This community service activity aims to provide understanding to PKK women about healthy and hygienic food, provide counseling to PKK women about the characteristics of healthy and hygienic food and provide awareness to the public not to buy food carelessly. The outreach method is carried out using the lecture method and explanations regarding healthy and hygienic food and contamination or bacterial contamination in siomai sauce from traveling sellers using posters and power points. The result of this community service activity is that PKK women understand about healthy and hygienic food as well as food that is contaminated or contaminated with bacteria, especially in the example of ten foods sold at the Solo Snack Center (Galabo). The conclusion of this community service activity is that PKK mothers can find out the benefits of healthy and hygienic food for the body and PKK mothers are aware to be more careful in buying food outside so that family health, especially school children, is more secure and mothers PKK mothers understand how to choose healthy and hygienic food for their families.

Home, family, and violence: the films of João Canijo

ABSTRACT Portuguese filmmaker João Canijo’s films and his use of family and home present a portrait of contemporary Portugal: underprivileged families trying to survive in the modern world, emphasising the women’s lack of power and the imposition of a patriarchal community. Moreover, using the same narrative pattern, these films allow a study of the tensions in Portuguese society. The place where the narrative develops is the family’s home, the site for the struggle of everyday life. This artistic analysis can be read through the lenses of a cultural analysis made in the past decades by researchers and essayists who examine how the Portuguese cultural representations are strongly attached to a Salazaristic ideology. The films of João Canijo build upon these cultural representations against a harsher reality, which is represented by the way families implode with systemic violence. Thus, this article argues how the home is a claustrophobic space –filled with markers of nationality in its mise-en-scène–, where families cannot live together, and where violence destroys the idyllic cultural representations of Portugal.

Program Innovation in the National Amil Zakat Management System: A Step Towards Enhancing the Welfare of Mustahik

The continued development of the ZIS management system which gave birth to new programs which are the result of the program innovations of each amil zakat institution is expected to be able to improve the welfare of mustahik in various fields. This study aims to find out the collection, distribution, utilization and reporting of zakat, infaq, alms (ZIS) funds at BAZNAS Tulungagung and NU Care-LAZISNU Tulungagung. This research method is qualitative with descriptive research type, data collection techniques with in-depth interviews, moderate participation observation and documentation, data analysis model of Miles and Huberman. Checking the validity of the data by extending observations, increasing persistence, triangulation and member checks. The results of this study are 1) collection at BAZNAS Tulungagung through UPZ, Bank Transfers, Counters/counters, by conducting outreach to agencies and social media Instagram Facebook and YouTube while NU Care- LAZISNU Tulungagung through the MWC, Twigs and congregation, bank transfers, zakat car, with socialization to congregations, and social media Instagram Facebook and WhatsApp groups. 2) Distribution of BAZNAS Tulungagung through education compensation programs, medicine for Islamic boarding schools, mass circumcision, house renovations, and Zakat Community Development (ZCD) for tourist villages while NU Care- LAZISNU Tulungagung through education care programs, free medical treatment, disaster response, mosque construction, programs wholesale. 3) Utilization of BAZNAS Tulungagung through a basic food distribution program for orphans totaling 1500 pcs each year, One Family One Bachelor scholarship (SKSS) at 4 universities in Tulungagung for underprivileged families, "fertile goat" farms of 50 goats in the area village of Besole, business capital for etek traders is 1 million rupiah, while NU Care-LAZISNU Tulungagung through the staple rice program for the poor, 550 free eyeglasses for mustahik in the education sector, 140 "integrated goat" farms in the village area pakisaji, business capital for small businesses or wholesalers of 2 million rupiah. 4) BAZNAS Tulungagung reporting through the BAZNAS Information Management System (SIMBA) and Instagram social media and the official website while NU Care-LAZISNU Tulungagung submits reports to BAZNAS Tulungagung, People's Welfare, Ministry of Religion and social media Instagram and Facebook and WhatsApp groups.

Sosialisasi Pencegahan Pernikahan Dini

The service program activities were carried out at UPTD SMPN 15 Sinjai, Sinjai Tengah sub-district, Samaenre sub-district by holding an early marriage seminar. Early marriage is a marriage carried out by children under 19 years of age for women and under 21 years of age for men. As is the case in Samaenre Village, Central Sinjai District, Sinjai Regency, early marriages always occur, resulting in the Village Government having to minimize the number of early marriages. Internal factors come from within, namely the wishes of the individual himself, while external factors are parents' economic factors, educational factors. , and parental factors or the wishes of the parents. Many teenagers are trapped in young marriages, especially those from underprivileged families, so they choose to marry at a young age to reduce the family's economic burden. There are many possible risks to early marriage, both physical and psychological risks. Therefore, to prevent early marriage, the author took the initiative to hold early marriage seminars.

Hubungan Antara Faktor Risiko pada Ibu Hamil dengan Kejadian Stunting di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Mandastana, Kabupaten Barito Kuala

Data from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in November 2021 showed that Indonesia was in the second highest position in Southeast Asia for the prevalence of children that has stunting occurance under five years old. The Permata Bunda program is one of the priority programs of the Batola Regency Government in the form of providing food to children under five who have malnutrition, good nutrition and pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency, as well as pregnant women and toddlers from underprivileged families, restoring the children under five and pregnant women’s nutritional status. The study design used in this study is a case control design, a quantitative analytic study, which is to determine the correlation between age, parity, Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), anemia and maternal weight gain with the incidencef stunting in children under five. There is a correlation between maternal parity, the incidence of SEZ and the occurance of anemia with the occurance of stunting toddlers and there is no correlation between age and maternal weight gain during phase of pregnancy and the incidence of stunting in children under five. The health workers in Puskesmas are suggested to prioritize the risk of CED and anemia in pregnant women to prevent the problem of stunting in children.

DAMPAK PARTISIPASI AKTIF KPM PKH DALAM FAMILY DEVELOPMENT SESSION UNTUK MENGUATKAN KETAHANAN EKONOMI KELUARGA

This study aims to analyze the impact of FDS in strengthening the economic resilience of PKH beneficiary families. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with indepth interview, observation, and documentation. The data collected was analyzed using the NVIVO 12. The subjects in this study were PKH beneficiary mothers/ women who actively participated in FDS in the Harjosari RW 07 Bawen area. The results showed that there are 2 main factors to realize the goal of increasing family economic resilience through FDS, namely 1) the role of FDS Facilitators; 2) active involvement of FDS participants. FDS has had a positive impact in strengthening family economic resilience. Quality indicators of economic resilience, namely home ownership, the ability to make ends meet, savings account ownership, health insurance ownership, children not dropping out of school, and women's opportunities to work, have experienced significant improvements after participating in FDS. However, there are still constraints in the aspects of savings ownership and health insurance, which indicates the need for further optimization in the implementation of FDS. The conclusion of this study is that FDS has had a significant impact in strengthening the economic resilience of PKH beneficiary families. With further efforts to improve the implementation of FDS, it is hoped that this program can continue to contribute to improving the welfare of underprivileged families in Indonesia. This study recommends increasing the competence of FDS facilitators and increasing support from the Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure smooth and rewarding social assistants as facilitators of the implementation of this program.

Penerapan Metode Naïve Bayes Untuk Penentuan Penerima Beasiswa Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP).

PIP is the provision of educational cash assistance to school-aged children from underprivileged families who are marked with a smart Indonesia card (KIP). The purpose of this research is to determine the performance of the Naïve Bayes method in classifying data on students who are eligible and who are not eligible to receive a PIP scholarship at SMAN 1 Sukamulia, because this school is still experiencing problems in the decision-making process for determining potential PIP scholarship recipients, because there are no a system that can assist in processing student data that is eligible and not eligible to get the PIP scholarship. Therefore, for data processing, researchers tried to implement a new system with the Data Mining concept using the Naïve Bayes method, by carrying out 9 tests using Cross Validation starting from K-Fold Validation 2 to 10, obtaining the highest accuracy results in the 9th test. using K-Fold Validation 10 which is equal to 92.81%. Also obtained was an Area Under Curve (AUC) value of 0.973%, where AUC is a parameter used in classification analysis to determine the best model for predicting a class or attribute. AUC itself has a value range of 0-1, which means that the closer the AUC value is to 1, the better the prediction or diagnosis of the attribute

Representing the adarsh biometric balak or the ideal biometric child: locating poor children’s care work in the Aadhaar welfare state

ABSTRACT This article spotlights the role of children from poor, underprivileged families who are drawn into care work to facilitate inclusion for their families in food security by performing fingerprint authentication. Owing to the youthful suppleness of their bodies, children’s fingerprints are more likely to succeed in fulfilling biometric requirements. They are also more compliant in having their schooling or playtime disrupted by the unpredictable and time-consuming biometric authentication process. Children’s names may also be added on ration cards to facilitate food security for relatives other than their parents who depend on the biometric viability of children’s bodies and time for welfare. Supplementing ethnographic data with the state’s data of the biometric authentications recorded in the Aadhaar database of India, I make visible the poor child as an ‘ideal biometric child’ in enabling the biometric assemblage of the welfare state to care for its citizens.

ANTECEDENTS TO THE UNDERPRIVILEGED UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS' INTENTION TO PARTICIPATE IN ONLINE CLASSES

COVID-19 pandemic has forced educational institutions to use e-learning systems. Bangladesh is no exception; many students come from underprivileged families who are not well-off. This study aimed to explore the antecedents to the underprivileged undergraduate students' intention to participate in online classes in Bangladesh through the integration of the Technology Acceptance Model, Information Systems Success Model, and Theory of Planned Behaviour. We used confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to test the hypotheses. The non-probability sampling method was used to select 394 respondents by dint of the subjective judgment of the researchers. Using smart PLS software, the data were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). It was divulged that e-Learning usage intention (BI) is influenced by attitude (ATT), perceived usefulness (PU), students' online learning satisfaction (SOS) and subjective norms (SN). But perceived ease of use (PEU) and system quality (SQ), internet service quality (ISQ) and perceived behavioral control (PBC) do not influence BI. Even ISQ does not influence SOS. It was also revealed that PEU mediated attitude and PU, and PEU and SQ also influenced SOS. The study contributes to e-Learning literature by incorporating three models which may guide policymakers in understanding how to integrate students from all social classes into e-learning systems to eliminate academic digital discrimination.

Prevalence, Risks and Prevention of Child Maltreatment in the Middle East

Child maltreatment is the most prevalent and underreported issue in the Middle East and across the globe. Misconduct with children has adverse effects on their overall health, well-being, and psychosocial development for the longer term. This review aimed to investigate recent evidence concerning child maltreatment, prevalence, risks, protective factors, and outcomes in the Middle East; it also evaluated warranted prevention strategies to combat the rising cases of child maltreatment and minimize its serious adversities. Sixty-five primary and secondary studies were included in this study after rigorous screening through PubMed/Medline, Web of Science, Scopus, Embase, Google scholar, CINAHL, and Proquest. Evidence revealed an 88% incidence of child maltreatment in the Middle East. Factors including economic crises, lack of education, and substance abuse add to the maltreatment exposure of vulnerable children. Findings indicated the adverse impact of maltreatment on the overall mental and physical health and social development of the affected children. The protective factors include community support, self-regulation, child prevention awareness campaigns and training, social competence, and high self-esteem. In conclusion, findings from this review emphasized the need to address child maltreatment in the Middle East and formulate viable approaches to improve parenting skills, satisfy the nutritional/financial requirements of underprivileged families, and improve interpersonal relationships of children with their caretakers.

Parents' Knowledge and Skills in Feeding, Children's Response to Feeding on the Nutritional Status of Toddlers with Malnutrition Problems

Malnutrition, notably stunting, significantly impacts children's health and development, particularly during the first 1000 days of life. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is notably high, affecting approximately 30% of children under five in 2019, with Kediri Regency reporting a prevalence rate of 10.23% in 2022. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of parental knowledge and skills in improving nutritional status as well as children's responses to feeding on the nutritional status of children with malnutrition problems. The research design used in this research is a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique was total sampling with respondents in this study being 22 underprivileged families with toddlers who had nutritional problems and stunting in the Gempolan Village area. The problem of malnutrition in toddlers is quite high with an average Z Score of -2.42 (BB/U), -2.46 (TB/U), and -1.53 (BB/TB). Pre-test data on parents' knowledge and ability to fulfill children's nutrition shows that 68% have fairly good knowledge and skills and only 9% have good knowledge and skills. In this study, 50% of respondents had a fairly good response to feeding. The data highlights a significant problem of malnutrition in toddlers, characterized by low Z-Scores indicating undernutrition and growth stunting. These low Z-Scores pose substantial health risks, including compromised growth, weakened immunity, and potential long-term health issues. Parental knowledge and skills in nutrition are crucial, with most parents having reasonable knowledge levels. However, feeding problems persist, contributing to food rejection by children, exacerbating malnutrition.

Relational Dialectics on Couples of Childbearing Age in Underprivileged Chinese Ethnicity Families in the Use of Contraception in Medan City

Dialectics in the form of contradictions in relationships which can occur due to various things and problems in couple life, as well as in determining the decision to carry out a family planning (KB) program or in determining the use of contraception. This research aims to analyze how the condition of internal and external dialectics and the strategies for resolving internal and external dialectics on couples of childbearing ages in underprivileged families of Chinese ethnicity in Medan City. The research approach uses a combined approach with a mixed methods model embedded design in data collection techniques and data analysis techniques. Therefore, the data produced is quantitative data to answer the internal and external dialectical condition, and qualitative data to answer strategies for resolving internal and external dialectics. Researcher prioritize quantitative data obtained from 100 respondents, while qualitative data collected through focus group discussion with 6 resource persons as informants are meant to complement the data and elaborate the analysis results more fully. The results of the study based on quantitative data with descriptive statistical analysis showed the condition of internal dialectic variables obtained an average value of 4.10 and the external dialectic variables obtained an average value of 3.49 on a 5-point Likert Scale. Based on the assessment criteria using the grand mean analysis, both are in a relatively stable condition. However, this value means that the respondents in this study tend to be more able to cope with the internal dialectics which occur than the external dialectics of contraceptive use. Meanwhile, the dialectic resolution strategy used by respondents in resolving internal dialectics tends to use a balance strategy and in resolving external dialectics using an integration strategy.

Family Development Session as An Effort To Empower The Community in The Family Hope Program Gorontalo City

Family Development Session is one of the supporting activities as well as intervention in the form of efforts to change the mindset of beneficiary families in the implementation of alleviating pre-prosperous families, namely the Family Hope Program (PKH). PKH is a social assistance program that is given conditionally. The focus of the research is to determine the efforts to empower the economic empowerment of beneficiary families through FDS activities. The research used a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Checking the validity of data using triangulation techniques and sources, then the data analysis used is the domain and taxonomy of the Spradely model. The results of this study FDS as one of PKH activities were carried out in a structured manner in accordance with 5 modules and new additions, namely material on stunting prevention provided. The implementation of FDS as an empowerment effort is also supported by additional activities and other complementary empowerment programs that support the acceleration of the alleviation of underprivileged families such as the Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE) and Pahlawan Ekonomi Nusantara (PENA) when the implementation of FDS is carried out. The PENA program as a form of empowerment intervention for families is considered effective because it has given birth to various forms of entrepreneurship with turnover that can deliver graduation

Ethical Issues in Breastfeeding and Lactation Interventions: A Scoping Review.

Infant feeding interventions that promote and support breastfeeding are considered important contributions to global public health. As these interventions often target private settings (e.g., individuals' homes) and involve vulnerable populations (e.g., pregnant women, infants, and underprivileged families), a keen awareness of ethical issues is crucial. The purpose of this scoping review was to capture the key elements of the current ethical discourse regarding breastfeeding and lactation interventions. A scoping review was conducted using Arksey and O'Malley's (2005) methodology to identify the ethical issues of breastfeeding and lactation interventions as they are reflected in the scholarly literature published between January 1990 and October 2022. Abstracts (N = 3715) from PubMed, ScienceDirect, JSTOR and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews were screened. The final sample consisted of 26 publications. The recurring ethical issues identified in these studies were: the normative assumptions of motherhood; maternal autonomy and informed choice; information disclosure, balancing risks and benefits, and counseling practices; stigma and social context; ethics of health communication in breastfeeding campaigns; and the ethical acceptability of financial incentives in breastfeeding interventions. This review illustrated that, while a wide range of ethical arguments were examined, the emphasis has been primarily on accounting for mothers' experiences and lactating persons' choices, as well as achieving public health objectives relating to infant nutrition in breastfeeding interventions. To effectively and ethically implement breastfeeding and lactation interventions, we must consider the social, economic, and cultural contexts in which they occur. One key learning identified was that women's experiences were missing in these interventions and, in response, we suggest moving beyond the dichotomous approach of individual health versus population health.
