A variety of organisms of the Salmonella species has been isolated from these 24 cases. Salmonella choleraesuis has been cultured in 13 of this group,2 indicating the highly invasive character of this organism. The following report of subacute bacterial endocarditis due to S. choleraesuis von Kunzendorf represents the third nonfatal case published.CASE REPORTHistory:A 30 year old white male was admitted to the Mount Sinai Hospital of Greater Miami on July...Bibliography1.
