A Novel and Efficient INC Based MPPT for PV System

This paper discuss the Incremental Conduction based MPPT for tracking the solar power. Due to increment of power demand here to find the new type of generation system. The concept of Renewable Energy Source (RES) is now become a most popular for generation of power. There are basically three types of RES is used for generation process, Wind, PV, fuel cell. Solar system is one of the best RES technique for generation of electrical power but it have some drawback. It is only used in the daytime and has low efficiency. For improving the efficiency of the system here maximum power tracking is needed. Here Incremental Conduction based MPPT for tracking the solar power is used. The whole model is simulated in MATLAB /SIMULINK for checking the performance of the system and is applicable to different type of domestic loads. The THD of the system is calculated.

Optimal power management of electrical energy storage system, CHP, conventional and heat‐only units considering both electrical and thermal loads for assessment of all‐electric ship's system

Using different types of generation systems in ships, which are known as all-electric ships, can play a key role in increasing economic benefits in the long term. On the other hand, electrical energy storage systems (EESSs) provide flexibility for supporting the electrical load of ships in the presence of renewable energy sources and the other generation units. Since power demands of a ship are not limited to an electrical load, combined heat and power (CHP) units can be considered as backup units for heat-only units in addition to their economic and environmental advantages. In this study, new optimal power management is presented to handle a generation scheduling problem of a cruise ship for 12 h time intervals. In this regard, this method is based on the Lagrangian relaxation approach, a subset of ɛ-constraint approaches, and the use of marginal cost to determine the performance of EESS in each time interval by taking all the constraints into account. The capability of the proposed algorithm is analysed by simulation results of a cruise ship, including conventional, CHP, EESS and heat-only units, in order to achieve minimum operation cost with a short runtime.

Microgeração Fotovoltaica Conectada à Rede Elétrica: Considerações Acerca de Sua Difusão e Implantação no Brasil

Grid-connected photovoltaic power systems appear as a technological option to meet the growing demand for energy. The article discusses the economic and technical barriers and the potential for deployment of these systems in Brazil from the rules of ANEEL Resolution No. 482/2012. The work consists of a survey for the description and identification of the opportunities and benefits as well as the difficulties and barriers in the dissemination of this type of generation system. Thus, for the diffusion of the generation, there must be mutual effort between segments that permeate the generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of energy.

Seasonal shifting of surplus renewable energy in a power system located in a cold region

The Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011 changed Japan's strategy for reducing CO₂ emissions. The government is now placing more emphasis on the development of nonCO₂-emitting distributed generation systems such as wind, solar, and tidal power to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and guarantee electricity supply in the case of a natural disaster. This paper proposes a strategy for the exploitation of wind, solar, and tidal resources in a cold region in Japan by utilizing surplus energy from the summer and spring during winter. It also aims to determine the most favorable energy mix of these renewable sources and storage system types. The study is performed by calculating hourly demand and renewable energy supply for the city in one year, which is based on actual data of demand, solar irradiation, wind speeds, and tidal current speeds. The costs of the components of the renewable power plants and storage systems are considered, and different proportions of generation outputs are evaluated with different types of storage systems. According to results, the configuration containing the hydrogen storage system using organic chemical hydride methylcyclohexane (OCHM) is the most economical but is still more expensive than one using a conventional generation system. Moreover, we confirm that the cost of CO₂ emissions is the key element for leveling the playing field between conventional and renewable generation from an economic perspective. The cost of CO₂ emissions to public health as well as those costs related to the interruption of services during a catastrophe must be carefully calculated with other issues from conventional power projects to perform a precise comparative evaluation between both types of generation systems.

하이브리드형 파력발전시스템의 유입구 형상 연구

최근 해양시설물용 파력발전시스템은 본래 기능과 연계한 하이브리드 형태로 많은 연구개발이 이루어지고 있다. 이 중 방파제에 설계된 진동 수주형 파력발전시스템의 경우, 기존의 방파제의 기능에 더불어 터빈을 통해 파랑에너지를 전기에너지로 변환하는 발전기능을 갖는다. 이러한 형태의 발전 시스템은 해수를 손실 없이 최대한 많이 유입되도록 하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 유입구 형상에 따른 파력발전시스템의 출력 특성에 대해 기술하였다. 또한 일반적인 해양 구조물인 방파제에 부착된 진동수주형 웰즈터빈 모델을 시뮬레이션 하여 유입구 곡면 각도에 따라 변화하는 유입량과 해수속도 그리고 그에 따른 웰즈터빈의 출력을 측정하였다. 마지막으로 시뮬레이션 결과를 바탕으로 하여 에너지 변환 효율을 높이기 위한 유입구 형상을 제안하였다. Recently, many studies about the wave power generation system for the marine structure as the hybrid form in linked with the original features have been made of. Of these, the wave power generation system using oscillating water column(OWC) has function to convert wave energy to electrical energy with original function of the break water structure. In this type of generation system, it is important to make the flow of sea water as much as possible without loss. Output characteristics of wave power generation system depending on entrance section were described in the paper. Also, flow quantity changing with entrance section, velocity of sea water and output of wells turbine were measured by simulating OWC wells turbine model in break water, one of the general marine structure. Finally, entrance section was suggested to enhance the energy conversion efficiency based on the results of simulation.

This paper deals with an design of axial flux electric machine which is a key element for a compact size in a portable and manual generator system. It is expected that the generator system with an axial flux electric machine is more light and has higher efficiency than other types of generator systems. And it is used the soft magnetic composite core instead of silicon steel core in the axial flux electric machine for more compact size. The weight and efficiency of the generator system are the main keys to select the value of design variables. In this paper, the overall design process to meet the design goals, and the design results are presented with experiment results.

A new level of language generation technology: capabilities and possibilities

The different tasks and types of language generation systems are discussed. There are four types of generation systems: canned-text, template, phrase-based, and feature-based systems. Canned text is the simplest way of producing output and is used in the vast majority of software. Templates, the next level of sophistication, are used when a single message must be produced multiple times with slight alterations. Phrases are generalized templates and can be developed to considerable complexity. Features are the limit point of phrase generalization. Each possible minimal alternative of expression is represented by a single feature. These systems can be applied to produce multiparagraph texts, summaries of numerical information, explanations, help systems, multimedia interfaces, software documentation and machine translation.
