In vivo Study of Use of Bioceramic Material in Open Crown-root Fractures

Treatment of crown root fracture is complex and requires an accurate diagnostic and treatment plan. The purpose of this article is to report a case of a maxillary central incisor with a crown-root fracture with pulp exposure treated and rehabilitated with the preservation of pulp vitality using a micro-pulpotomy and pre-mixed bioactive endodontic cements followed by zirconia restauration, a bioinert ceramic material, milled using CAD/CAM technology. The preservation of pulp vitality using premixed bioceramic materials, ensures the continuation of dentinogenesis with its benefits, higher resistance of radicular walls against fracture, smaller diameter of apical foramen as well as creating conditions over time for a post retained crown with better aesthetic results.

Multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of a complicated crown-root fracture

Complicated crown-root fractures are uncommon type of dental trauma but usually result in significant esthetic and functional problems to those affected. This case report demonstrates sequential endodontic, restorative, orthodontic, periodontal, and prosthodontic modalities for the conservative management of a complicated crown-root fracture of the maxillary left central incisor in a young patient. After root canal treatment and core buildup, the tooth was extruded using forced orthodontic eruption for 8 weeks and retention for 7 weeks. Zinc phosphate cement acrylic crown was used to preserve esthetics and function during the forced eruption and retention period.

Management of complicated Crown root fractured teeth by intra alveolar transplantation with 180° rotation: Case series

Treatment of Crown root fracture extending subgingivally has problems like isolation, maintenance of biological width and restoration. In order to eliminate these problems, various treatment procedures such as Crown lengthening, orthodontic or surgical extrusion are done with reasonable success rates. This article discusses two cases of Crown root fracture, treated with intra alveolar transplantation with 180΀ rotation, which provides the advantage of exposing the fracture line above epithelial attachment, maintain biological width and achieve a good finish line.Twelve months follow-up clinically and radiographically reveal acceptable results with no obvious signs and symptoms of failure, with the patient having normal function and esthetics.

Treatment of crown-root fracture with a modified crown fragment reattachment technique

The development of adhesive dentistry has allowed that the crown fragment reattachment can be another option in the treatment of crown fracture. However, additional crown lengthening procedure or extrusion of the tooth may be necessary in the treatment of crown root fracture because subgingival fracture line in close proximity to the alveolar bone leads to challenges for restorative procedure and the violation of the biologic width. This case report presents a modified crown fragment reattachment technique of crown root fracture with pulp exposure, which was done without additional crown lengthening procedures. After the endodontic treatment, the patient was treated using a post insertion and the fragment reattachment technique, which made it possible to preserve the space for the biologic width and maintain a dry surgical field for adequate adhesion through the modification of the fractured coronal fragment. Since a coronal fracture was occurred and reattached afterward, it was observed that the coronal fragment was well maintained without the additional loss of periodontal attachment through 2-year follow up.
