Effects of intensive psychological intervention on treatment compliance, psychological status, and quality of life of patients with epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a nervous system disease characterized by recurrent attacks, a long disease course, and an unfavorable prognosis. It is associated with an enduring therapeutic process, and finding a cure has been difficult. Patients with epilepsy are predisposed to adverse moods, such as resistance, anxiety, nervousness, and anxiety, which compromise treatment compliance and overall efficacy. To explored the influence of intensive psychological intervention on treatment compliance, psychological status, and quality of life (QOL) of patients with epilepsy. The clinical data of 105 patients with epilepsy admitted between December 2019 and July 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, including those of 50 patients who underwent routine intervention (control group) and 55 who underwent intensive psychological intervention (research group). Treatment compliance, psychological status based on the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Depression Scale Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) scores, hope level assessed using the Herth Hope Scale (HHS), psychological resilience evaluated using the Psychological Resilience Scale, and QOL determined using the QOL in Epilepsy-31 Inventory (QOLIE-31) were comparatively analyzed. Treatment compliance in the research group was 85.5%, which is significantly better than the 68.0% of the control group. No notable intergroup differences in preinterventional SAS and SDS scores were identified (P > 0.05); however, after the intervention, the SAS and SDS scores decreased significantly in the two groups, especially in the research group (P < 0.05). The two groups also exhibited no significant differences in preinterventional HHS, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), and QOLIE-31 scores (P > 0.05). After 6 months of intervention, the research group showed evidently higher HHS, CD-RISC, tenacity, optimism, strength, and QOLIE-31 scores (P < 0.05). Intensive psychological intervention enhances treatment compliance, psychological status, and QOL of patients with epilepsy.

Analysis of The Effect of Comprehensive Nursing Intervention on Improving Blood Sugar Levels and Treatment Compliance in Elderly Patients with Diabetes

Objective: To analyze the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on improving blood glucose levels and treatment compliance in elderly patients with diabetes. Methods: One hundred and forty-eight elderly patients with diabetes were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 74 cases each. The control group received routine nursing intervention and the observation group received comprehensive nursing intervention. The blood sugar levels, treatment compliance, and nursing satisfaction of the two groups of patients before and after intervention were compared. Results: After the intervention, the fasting plasma glucose (FPG) (t = 7.729), 2 hours postprandial glucose (PPG) (t = 8.343), and HbA1c (t = 6.929) levels of patients in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P &lt; 0.001). The observation group (71/95.95%) had a higher compliance rate than the control group (54/72.97%) (χ2 =14.877, P &lt; 0.001). The comprehensive nursing satisfaction rate of the observation group (73/98.65%) was higher than that of the control group (56/75.68%) (χ2 =17.451, P &lt; 0.001). Conclusion: In caring for elderly patients with diabetes, comprehensive nursing intervention effectively reduced patients’ blood sugar levels and improved treatment compliance and nursing satisfaction.

Active fractions from Jingfang Baidu Powder alleviate Klebsiella-induced Pneumonia by inhibiting TLR4/Myd88-ERK signaling pathway

Ethnopharmacological relevanceJingfang Baidu Powder (JFBDP) is a classic traditional Chinese medicine prescription. Although Jingfang Baidu powder obtained a general consensus on clinical efficacy in treating pneumonia, there were many Chinese herbal drugs in formula, complex components, and large oral dosage, which brings certain obstacles to clinical application. Aim of the studyTherefore, screening of the active fraction that exerts anti-pneumonia helps improve the pharmaceutical preparation, improve the treatment compliance of patients, and further contribute to the clinical application, and the screening of the new active ingredients with anti-pneumonia. The histopathological observation, real-time quantitative PCR, western blotting, and immunofluorescence were applied to evaluate the anti-pneumonia efficacy of active fractions from JFBDP. ResultsThree fractions from JFBDP inhibit the gene expression of IL-1β, IL-10, CCL3, CCL5, and CCL22 in lung tissue infected by Klebsiella at various degrees, and presented a good dose-response relationship. JF50 showed stronger anti-inflammatory effects among three fractions including JF30, JF50, and JF75. Besides, JF50 significantly reduced the protein expression of TLR4 and Myd88 in lung tissue infected with Klebsiella, and it also significantly inhibited p-ERK and p–NF–κB p65. JF50 significantly inhibits the protein expression of Caspase 3, Caspase 8, and Caspase 9 in lung tissue infected with Klebsiella at the dose of 25 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg. ConclusionJF50 improves lung pathological damage in Klebsiella pneumonia mice by inhibiting the TLR4/Myd88/NF-κB-ERK signaling pathway, and inhibiting apoptosis of lung tissue cells. These findings provide a reference for further exploring the active substance basis of Jingfang Baidu Powder in treating bacterial pneumonia.

The Impact of Ramadan Fasting on Sleep and Treatment Compliance in Psychiatric Patients: A Survey Study.

Background: During Ramadan, fasting is a duty for all healthy adult Muslims. During this month, there is a major and abrupt break in chrono-biological rhythms, sleep duration and timing, and the activity/rest cycle.&#x0D; Aims: This study aims to explore the impact of the month of Ramadan, with its various biological, behavioral, and social repercussions, on mental health in Tunisian psychiatric patients who may or may not be fasting.&#x0D; Objective: To determine the impact of the month of Ramadan on sleep and treatment compliance in psychiatric patients.&#x0D; Methods: This was a survey study of all patients under follow-up at the Monastir psychiatric outpatient department for mental disorders, with two measurements during and after the month of Ramadan in 2019 (i.e., from May 05 to June 04, 2019, the number of hours of fasting in Tunisia was between 15h 43 min and 16 h 36 min). The data was analyzed in 2020.&#x0D; Results: After studying 107 survey responses twice, during and after Ramadan, this study shows that sleep quality was significantly impaired during Ramadan for both fasters and non-fasters. There was also a significant difference between Ramadan and post-Ramadan in terms of treatment compliance; hence, adherence to treatment in the study population depended on the Ramadan effect and not the Fasting effect.&#x0D; Conclusion: This study showed that sleep quality assessed by the ISI insomnia scale was significantly impaired during the month of Ramadan for both fasting and non-fasting subjects. Also, adherence to treatment in the study population depended on the Ramadan effect and not the fasting effect.

A meta-path, attention-based deep learning method to support hepatitis carcinoma predictions for improved cirrhosis patient management

Hepatitis carcinoma (HCC) accounts for the majority of liver cancer–related deaths globally. Cirrhosis often precedes HCC clinically in a strong, temporal relationship. Therefore, identifying cirrhosis patients at higher risk of HCC is crucial to physicians' clinical decision-making and patient management. Effective estimates of at-risk patients can facilitate timely therapeutic interventions and thereby enhance patient outcomes and well-being. We develop a novel, meta-path, attention-based deep learning method to identify at-risk cirrhosis patients. The proposed method integrates complex patient–medication interactions, essential patient–patient and medication–medication links, and the combined effects of medication and comorbidity to support downstream predictions. An empirical test of the proposed method's predictive utilities, relative to nine existing methods, uses a large sample of real-world cirrhosis patient data. The comparative results indicate that the proposed method can identify at-risk patients more effectively than all the benchmarks. The current research has important implications for clinical decision support and patient management, and it can facilitate patient self-management and treatment compliance too.

Effect of Educational Intervention on Adherence of Treatment in Hemodialysis Patients

Background: Adherence to treatment plans and prescribed drugs is considered an important challenge in chronic patients, and non-adherence to the treatment plan in these patients causes worsening of the condition of the disease and a decrease in their quality of life. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of self-care program training on treatment compliance in hemodialysis patients. Methods: The present study was a Quasi-experiment study in which all eligible patients of the hemodialysis department of Sanandaj were selected by census method in two intervention and control groups. In two groups, before and one month after the intervention, a demographic questionnaire and a questionnaire of adherence to the treatment of kidney patients were completed. The intervention included three training sessions as well as a training booklet for the ward. But in the control group, the patients received the necessary care according to routine. Data were analyzed using spss-16 software and descriptive tests and Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney non-parametric tests. Results: The results of the study showed that the average age and standard deviation of the participants was 51.71±15.85 years and the participants were homogenous in both groups. The average total score of treatment adherence in the intervention group increased from 93.03±12.77 before the intervention to 105.23±24.39 after the intervention (P&lt;0.05); However, in the control group before and after the intervention, the results of the Wilcoxon test did not show a significant difference. Conclusion: The program training and training for patients has led to an increase in patients’ awareness, improved patient care, and comprehensively and accurately points out all the information related to the patient’s condition, and provides them with the opportunity to ask and answer questions with nurses.

Analysis of the Effectiveness of Modified Non-Traumatic Filling Technology in the Treatment of Pediatric Dental Caries

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of modified non-traumatic filling technology in the treatment of pediatric dental caries. Methods: Ninety-seven children with dental caries who were treated in our hospital (Panyu Maternal and Child Care Service Center of Guangzhou) from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected and randomly divided into two groups, with 48 cases in the experimental group and 49 in the control group. The experimental group was treated with modified non-traumatic filling techniques, while the control group was treated with conventional filling techniques. Observation indicators such as the total effectiveness of the treatment, incidence of adverse events, treatment compliance, and pain scores were analyzed after the intervention. Result: After intervention, the total effectiveness of the treatment in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group (P &lt; 0.05). The incidence of adverse events in the experimental group was lower than that of the control group (P &lt; 0.05). The treatment compliance of patients in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group (P &lt; 0.05). The pain score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group (P &lt; 0.05). Conclusion: The application of modified non-traumatic filling technology in the treatment of pediatric dental caries showed good therapeutic outcomes. After the intervention, the child’s symptoms were significantly alleviated, the incidence of adverse events such as filling material falling off was reduced, their compliance was improved, and the pain was relieved. This procedure is worth to be promoted for clinical application.

Predictive model for identifying mild cognitive impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: A CHAID decision tree analysis.

As the population ages, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) become common conditions that often coexist. Evidence has shown that MCI could lead to reduced treatment compliance, medication management, and self-care ability in T2DM patients. Therefore, early identification of those with increased risk of MCI is crucial from a preventive perspective. Given the growing utilization of decision trees in prediction of health-related outcomes, this study aimed to identify MCI in T2DM patients using the decision tree approach. This hospital-based case-control study was performed in the Endocrinology Department of Xiangya Hospital affiliated to Central South University between March 2021 and December 2022. MCI was defined based on the Petersen criteria. Demographic characteristics, lifestyle factors, and T2DM-related information were collected. The study sample was randomly divided into the training and validation sets in a 7:3 ratio. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed, and a decision tree model was established using the chi-square automatic interaction detection (CHAID) algorithm to identify key predictor variables associated with MCI. The area under the curve (AUC) value was used to evaluate the performance of the established decision tree model, and the performance of multivariate regression model was also evaluated for comparison. A total of 1001 participants (705 in the training set and 296 in the validation set) were included in this study. The mean age of participants in the training and validation sets was 60.2 ± 10.3 and 60.4 ± 9.5 years, respectively. There were no significant differences in the characteristics between the training and validation sets (p>.05). The CHAID decision tree analysis identified six key predictor variables associated with MCI, including age, educational level, household income, regular physical activity, diabetic nephropathy, and diabetic retinopathy. The established decision tree model had 15 nodes composed of 4 layers, and age is the most significant predictor variable. It performed well (AUC=.75 [95% confidence interval (CI): .71-.78] and .67 [95% CI: .61-.74] in the training and validation sets, respectively), was internally validated, and had comparable predictive value compared to the multivariate logistic regression model (AUC=.76 [95% CI: .72-.80] and .69 [95% CI: .62-.75] in the training and validation sets, respectively). The established decision tree model based on age, educational level, household income, regular physical activity, diabetic nephropathy, and diabetic retinopathy performed well with comparable predictive value compared to the multivariate logistic regression model and was internally validated. Due to its superior classification accuracy and simple presentation as well as interpretation of collected data, the decision tree model is more recommended for the prediction of MCI in T2DM patients in clinical practice.

Treatment compliance, treatment patterns, and healthcare utilization in epilepsy patients with first add-on antiepileptic drugs: A nationwide cohort study

ObjectiveThis study aimed to assess the treatment compliance, patterns, healthcare resource utilization (HCRU), and costs of anti-epilepsy drugs (AEDs) as the first add-on therapy in patients with epilepsy. MethodsWe conducted a retrospective population-based cohort study using Korean National Health Insurance claims data from 2016 to 2020. Patients with epilepsy who newly received AED add-on therapy were identified and followed for up to 12 months to evaluate persistence, adherence, treatment patterns, HCRU, and costs. ResultsAmong 6,746 patients who initiated AED add-on therapy, 65.5% were persistent on their index AED add-on from the index date until the end of the follow-up period, and the mean persistent time on the index add-on was 307.3 ± 92.3 days. A total of 76.8% patients were adherent, with a medication possession ratio (MPR) ≥80%, and the mean MPR was 88.9 ± 25.4%. Persistence and adherence to the index AED add-on were relatively higher among patients prescribed lamotrigine, levetiracetam, oxcarbazepine, and perampanel than those prescribed carbamazepine, topiramate, or valproate. A total of 41.0% of the patients changed their index AED add-on during the follow-up period. The carbamazepine, topiramate, and valproate groups had higher rates of change than the other AED groups. HCRU and costs tended to be lower in the lamotrigine, levetiracetam, oxcarbazepine, and perampanel groups. Furthermore, perampanel showed the lowest HCRU and costs for all-cause cases as well as the lowest length of stay and outpatient visits for epilepsy-related cases. ConclusionIn this population-based study, the use of lamotrigine, levetiracetam, oxcarbazepine, or perampanel as the first add-on therapy in patients with epilepsy contributed to better treatment compliance and lower HCRU and costs than that of carbamazepine, topiramate, or valproate.

Effects of constructing vestibular rehabilitation exercise platform based on BS model on vertigo symptoms, balance ability and anxiety of vertigo patients

Objective:To explore the effect of vestibular rehabilitation exercise platform based on browser server（BS） mode on vertigo symptoms, balance ability and anxiety of vertigo patients. Methods:The clinical data of 110 patients with vertigo in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. The patients who received routine vestibular rehabilitation exercise from March 2019 to may 2020 were set as the control group （55 cases）, and the patients who received vestibular rehabilitation exercise platform guidance based on BS mode from June 2020 to December 2021 were set as the study group （55 cases）. The scores of Fugl Meyer balance assessment scale（FMA）, hospital anxiety and Depression Scale（had）, vertigo disorder scale（DHI）, quality of life scale（SF-36）, vertigo visual analog scale（VAS）, Berg Balance Scale（BBS）, rehabilitation treatment effect and rehabilitation exercise compliance were compared between the two groups. Results:before rehabilitation exercise, there was no significant difference in the scores of DHI, VAS, FMA, BBS, had and SF-36 between the two groups（P>0.05）. After 3 months of exercise, the scores of DHI, had and vas in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the scores of FMA, BBS and SF-36 in the study group were higher than those in the control group（P<0.05）. The excellent and good rate of rehabilitation efficacy and treatment compliance rate in the study group were higher than those in the control group（P<0.05）. Conclusion:The vestibular rehabilitation exercise platform based on CS mode can improve the limb movement and balance ability of patients with vertigo, reduce the vertigo symptoms and psychological anxiety, and improve the rehabilitation treatment effect and compliance of patients.

Bioequivalence Between a New Omalizumab Prefilled Syringe With an Autoinjector or with a Needle Safety Device Compared with the Current Prefilled Syringe: A Randomized Controlled Trial in Healthy Volunteers.

Omalizumab is an anti-IgE monoclonal antibody currently approved for the treatment of asthma, nasal polyps/chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, and chronic spontaneous urticaria. Omalizumab is available as an injection in a prefilled syringe (PFS) with a needle safety device (NSD). New product configurations were developed to reduce the number of injections per dose administration, improve patient convenience and treatment compliance. The objective of this randomized open-label 12-week study was to demonstrate pharmacokinetic bioequivalence between (1) new PFS with autoinjector (PFS-AI), (2) new PFS-NSD configuration, and (3) current PFS-NSD configuration. Each new configuration was considered bioequivalent to the current configuration if the confidence intervals (CIs) for the geometric mean ratios (GMR) were contained in the 0.80-1.25 range for maximum concentration (Cmax ), area under the concentration-time curve until the last quantifiable measurement (AUClast ), and AUC extrapolated to infinity (AUCinf ). Safety was assessed throughout the study. In total, 193 healthy volunteers were randomized at 1:1:1 ratio to omalizumab 1×300mg/2mL via new PFS-AI (n = 66), omalizumab 1×300mg/2mL via new PFS-NSD (n = 64), or omalizumab 2×150mg/1mL via current PFS-NSD (n = 63). Comparing new PFS-AI versus current PFS-NSD, the GMRs were: Cmax , 1.085; AUClast , 1.093; AUCinf , 1.100. Comparing new PFS-NSD versus current PFS-NSD, the GMRs were: Cmax , 1.006; AUClast , 1.016; AUCinf , 1.027. The 95% CIs for all GMR parameters were contained within the 0.80-1.25 range. Safety findings were consistent with the known safety profile of omalizumab. Single-dose omalizumab administered as the new PFS-AI or new PFS-NSD was bioequivalent to the current PFS-NSD.

Factors Related to Tuberculosis Treatment Compliance: A Cross-Sectional Study on Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients

Introduction: The success of pulmonary TB treatment remains low due to patients' lack of compliance with the treatment regimen. This study aims to determine factors related to treatment compliance among TB patients at the Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic of the Raja Ampat Regional General Hospital.&#x0D; Methods: An observational research design with a cross-sectional study approach was employed, involving 125 tuberculosis patients receiving treatment at the Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic of the Raja Ampat Regional General Hospital, selected through total sampling technique. Data collection utilized a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-Square test), and multivariate (Binary Logistic Regression) analyses.&#x0D; Results: The majority of treatment-compliant TB patients among the 125 respondents were 74 (59.2%) in the compliant category. There was a significant relationship between age, education, knowledge, attitude, perception, motivation, and staff support with the level of treatment compliance. Good knowledge (AOR: 2.18; CI: 1.05-1.56; p 0.003) and high staff support (AOR: 1.27; CI: 1.11-1.68; p 0.006) increased TB patient treatment compliance.&#x0D; Conclusion: TB patient treatment compliance is still below the established standards. Knowledge and staff support enhance better treatment compliance, emphasizing the importance of education and improving service access, such as health worker visits to TB patients' homes.

FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL GEL CONTAINING DIMOCARPUS LONGAN LOUR SEEDS EXTRACT FOR TREATMENT OF SKIN ACNE

The present research work focuses on skin acne with the aim of developing an effective and safe herbal gel using Dimocarpus longan Lour. The ethanol extract of Dimocarpus longanLour was incorporated into an optimized Carbopol gel base. Physical characterization and phytochemical testing of the extract have been carried out. Antimicrobial studies showed no detectable microbial contamination and demonstrated good areas of inhibition. Overall, this research report concludes that herbal gel formulation can provide effective and safe formulations leading to patient tolerance and treatment compliance.

The empathy imperative in whole person care - for patients and physicians

Clinical empathy is associated with improved patient satisfaction, treatment compliance, and better health. At the same time, empirical evidence shows that strong empathic connections between physicians and patients increase job satisfaction and decrease malpractice complaints. Plus, doctors with higher levels of empathy also experience less stress, cynicism, and burnout. Empathy in healthcare should be the norm. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Physicians encounter emotionally taxing situations—illness, trauma, suffering, and dying—on a frequent or ongoing basis. Which might explain why they may miss or dismiss signs of patient distress. But there’s a growing body of evidence that points to overwork and a lack of self-care as a major problem. In fact, relative to the general population, doctors suffer from higher rates of compassion fatigue, burnout, depression, and suicide. The long hours, administrative workload, and financial imperatives of today’s medical practice means that many physicians struggle to prioritize self-care, including a lack of sleep, exercise, and healthy eating habits. All of this was further exacerbated by the pressure of the recent COVID pandemic. Yet physicians are not permitted to appear vulnerable or weak because doing so is inconsistent with the culture of medicine.This session will explore why empathy and self-empathy are both imperative to whole person care - for physicians and their patients. And will suggest several strategies and practices to combat empathy fatigue.

THE CORRLATION BETWEEN THE ROLE OF NURSES AS EDUCATORS AND MEDICATION ADHERENCE IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS AT RAWALUMBU BEKASI HOSPITAL IN 2023

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) known in Indonesia as "Diabetes" is a disease whose prevalence is now increasing. The role of the educator itself is to help patients to improve their health by providing health education and medical actions received so that clients or families can know knowledge that is important to patients or families. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the role of nurses as educators with adherence to Treatment P there is Pasien DM at Rawalumbu Bekasi Hospital in 2023. The research method used is quantitative analytical observational with Cross Sectional Study approach and total sampling technique, which is to select samples based on the frequency distribution of patient respondent characteristics. The samples used in this study were 60 diabetes mellitus patients who were treated in the inpatient room at Rawalumbu Bekasi Hospital. The results of the study identified the role of nurses as good educators with medication adherence in non-adherent diabetes mellitus patients totaling 25 respondents (41.7%). There are Chi-Square test results with a significant level of 95% or a value of α 5% (0.05) obtained p value (0.000) &lt; a value of α (0.05) so that it can be concluded from the results Ho rejected means that there is a relationship between the role of nurses as educators with treatment compliance in diabetes mellitus patients at Rawalumbu Bekasi Hospital in 2023.

Community-Based Intervention for Elderly Patients with Diabetes Mellitus: Assessing the Effectiveness of a YouTube Self-Education Program during the Global COVID-19 Pandemic

Background: This study assessed a YouTube self-education program implemented for elderly patients with diabetes during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic at Hypertension and Diabetes Registration and Education Center (HDREC) in Hongcheon, Korea.Methods: Content analysis was conducted on diabetes-related videos uploaded on the YouTube channel ‘I want to know blood vessels!’ and the satisfaction of 266 patients with diabetes who participated in the online self-education program via a cross-sectional study was evaluated.Results: From 2020 to 2022, the HDREC periodically delivered a total of 38 diabetes care-related videos to this channel. The mean length of individual videos was approximately 7 minutes, and the total screening time for all videos reached about 289 minutes. Participants viewed videos on lifestyle habits such as nutrition care (up to 619 times), clinical understanding regarding diabetes (up to 578 times). In terms of satisfaction with self-education, 100% of the participants answered satisfied, and 100% answered helpful from video contents. The post-score (mean, 3.55 points) was significantly higher than the pre-score (mean, 2.43 points) after comparing the differences in knowledge levels of 74 patients who participated in this education program in 2022.Conclusion: Despite the stringent quarantine policies implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is expected that our YouTube education strategy will be more accessible for diabetes self-care, and will improve treatment compliance of patients with diabetes. Further research should focus on devising a more appropriate method for developing educational content based on patients’ video inquiry patterns and preferences in future crises involving non-communicable diseases.

Assessment of relationship between different communication methods and treatment compliance in orthodontic patients during Covid-19 pandemics

Objective: The aim of this study was to minimize impairment in oral hygiene and failure of brackets; therefore, effects of pandemic on treatment duration, by communicating our patients using 4 different methods during Covid-19 pandemic. &#x0D; &#x0D; Methods: In the study, 227 patients undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment were included. Five groups were designed: WhatsApp group, short message service (SMS) group, Teledentistry group, e-mail group and control group. During quarantine period, patients were contacted for 4 times and same text was sent to patients. After pandemics, the patients were assessed using mucogingival index (MGI), orthodontic plaque index (OPI) and failure of brackets was determined.&#x0D; &#x0D; Results: In MGI, percentage of patients with healthy result were as follows: WhatsApp group, 83.7%; SMS group, 87.8%; Teledentistry group, 83.7%; E-mail group, 77.5%; control group, 72.2% and no significant difference was found (p&gt;0.05). The OPI scores were as follows: 1.12±1.24 in WhatsApp group; 1.27±1.28 in SMS group; 1.24±1.38 in Teledentistry group; 1.00±1.22 in E-mail group; and 1.61±1.25 in the control group and no significant difference was found (p&gt;0.05). The mean number of brackets broken was 0.47±0.88 in WhatsApp group, 0.39±0.83 in SMS group, 0.51±1.00 in Teledentistry group, 0.40±0.67 in E-mail group and 0.44±0.86 in the control group and no significant difference was found (p&gt;0.05).&#x0D; &#x0D; Conclusion: It was determined that communicating with patients in different ways did not make any difference in terms of the subjects investigated in the study. It was concluded that it would be more appropriate to conduct new studies including social and psychological evaluations.

A Single-Centre, Retrospective Research Evaluation of the Effect of Extended Intervention Model Based on Case Management of Treatment Compliance and Cardiac Function on Patients with Chronic Heart Failure

Objective: To explore the effect of case management-based extended intervention model on treatment compliance and cardiac function in patients with chronic heart failure. Methods: This study retrospectively analysed the clinical data of 203 patients with chronic heart failure at Xingtai Third Hospital from January 2019 to January 2022. In accordance with different intervention programs, the patients were divided into a study group (SG, n = 102) and a reference group (RG, n = 101). The SG received the extended intervention model based on case management, and the RG adopted the conventional intervention model. Comparison was conducted on the treatment compliance, cardiac function, activity of daily living scale (ADL) scores and readmission rates in both groups. Results: After intervention, the SG showed higher treatment compliance (p &lt; 0.05), lower heart rate, higher left ventricular ejection fraction, ratio of transmitral peak rapid filling velocity to transmitral peak atrial filling velocity at mitral orifice and six-minute walk distance (p &lt; 0.001) and significantly lower ADL score and readmission rates than the RG (p &lt; 0.05). Conclusion: The extended intervention model based on case management positively influences the treatment compliance of patients with chronic heart failure and continuously improves patients' cardiac function, reduces the readmission rate, enhances daily living ability, comprehensively increases clinical efficacy and benefits patients for a long period.
