Training Impact Assessment: Evaluating PAMETI's Programs for Punjab's Extension Personnel

The study was undertaken with the objective of finding the level of effectiveness of the training programmes for extension personnel. The sample consists of trainees from various competency development training programmes organised by Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) in 2017–2018. In total 5 trainings and 24 trainees from each trainings were selected by purposive and random sampling respectively. Thus, a sample of 120 trainees from PAMETI, Ludhiana were taken for the study. Most of the trainees belonged to the high category of ‘applicability and utility’, ‘knowledge, attitude and skill’ and conviction of the training programmes whereas most belonged to medium category of relevance, timeliness and ‘improvement in job performance and satisfaction’ of training programmes. It was found that average training effectiveness index is highest for applicability and utility of the training programmes whereas lowest for job performance and satisfaction. Most of the trainees perceived to lie in the medium category of the overall training effectiveness index followed by high and low category.

This study was the basic data necessary to develop a training program for infection control personnel by understanding the present status and needs of infection control training programs. This is a mixed-method research using a mixture of descriptive surveys and focus interviews. A descriptive study was conducted in 9 institutions that satisfied the criteria as a training institution for those working in infection control office under the Enforcement Rules of the Medical Service Act. For the study, a survey was conducted from October 31 to November 7, 2022. Focus group interviews were conducted separately with six doctors and six nurses. Survey results showed that 31 training programs on infection control were conducted in 2022 at the nine institutions, with 5,179 participants and an average duration of 9.32 hours. About 64.5% of the cases were participants of the training program involved in two or more occupations, and there was no separate training program for other participants recognized by the heads of medical institutions. As for the training methods, face-to-face and online schemes showed similar results in the survey, but the subjects preferred face-to-face education. In this study, there was a lack of specialized training programs tailored to various types of medical institutions and training programs targeting some occupations. Therefore, cooperative efforts by each organization are needed to establish governance to set up a step-by-step infection control education system that can meet education demans and provide systematic education, such as integrating or developing new programs.

Epidemiology of coccidioidomycosis in Argentina, an update.

The National Reference Laboratory in Clinical Mycology of Argentina conducted a retrospective review of human coccidioidomycosis cases diagnosed by the National Mycology Laboratory Network of Argentina between 2010 and 2022 to determine the burden of the disease in the country. A total of 100 human coccidioidomycosis cases were documented, with a higher prevalence in male patients (male-to-female ratio of 1.9:1), with a median age of 41 years. Comparing the number of cases between two 10-year periods (2000-2009 and 2010-2019), the increase was 36.51% (from 63 to 86 cases). Among the 100 recorded cases, 79 tested positive using the double immunodiffusion test. Spherules were observed in 19 cases through histopathology or direct microscopic examination and the fungus was isolated in 39 cases. Thirty-six isolates were identified as Coccidioides posadasii through partial sequencing of the Ag2/PRA gene. Catamarca province had the highest number of cases, comprising 64% of the total, with an incidence rate above 1.0-2.5/100,000 inhabitants until 2018. However, there has been a recent downward trend in the region from 2018 to 2022. It is concerning that more than half of diagnosed cases were chronic pulmonary or disseminated forms, indicating a lack of early disease detection. To rectify this issue, it is imperative to conduct targeted training programs for healthcare personnel and enhance public awareness within the endemic area. This will contribute to a better understanding of the true burden of coccidioidomycosis and enable the implementation of appropriate sanitary control measures.

INTEGRATED FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: ITS IMPORTANCE IN ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT IN LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN PERU - 2023

Purpose: This study delves into the pivotal role of the Integrated Financial Administration System (SIAF) within local governments in Peru, with a focus on its influence on administrative, budgetary, and financial management. Theoretical Framework: The study is grounded in a theoretical framework that explores the essential functions and applications of the SIAF in the context of municipal affairs. Design/Methodology/Approach: Employing a quantitative research approach with a descriptive correlational design, the study actively engaged 166 participants, including authorities, managers, and collaborators from municipalities. Random surveys and interviews were conducted to gather insights from advisors and experts. Findings: The results revealed a significant consensus, with 72.29% strongly agreeing on the substantial role of the SIAF in municipal administration. An additional 70.48% endorsed strong agreement, underscoring tangible improvements in administrative management facilitated by the SIAF. Reliability analysis, as reflected in KR20 and KR21 values, further solidified the credibility of the study. Research, Practical & Social Implications: The study recommends the establishment of continuous monitoring mechanisms for the SIAF, emphasizing regular updates to align with evolving administrative, budgetary, and financial requirements. Additionally, advocating for comprehensive capacity-building and training programs for municipal personnel is crucial to enhance proficiency in utilizing the SIAF effectively. Empowering stakeholders is expected to optimize system benefits and cultivate a culture of efficient financial administration within local governments. Originality/Value: This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing comprehensive insights into the indispensable role of the SIAF in local government administration, backed by rigorous quantitative analysis and reliability metrics.

Psychological features of emotional disorders in military personnel after mine-explosion injury during their medical-psychological rehabilitation

Research in the field of psychology of emotional disorders in military personnel with mine-explosion injuries intersects various disciplines such as psychology, medicine, military science, sociology, rehabilitation, etc. Unfortunately, there is currently no unified system, technology, and methodology for comprehensive medical-psychological rehabilitation of combatants, as preference is given to individual types – social, psychological, medical, physical, pedagogical, and the rehabilitation measures themselves have a fragmented nature. Therefore, the question arises about the justification of the effectiveness and measures of medical-psychological rehabilitation for military personnel who have participated in combat operations. The study involved 99 individuals – male military personnel aged 18 to 61 years, undergoing treatment and recovery in a medical institution.
 For the statistical analysis of the research results, factor, cluster analysis, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were conducted.
 Based on the research results, three clusters were identified, differing in the average level of intelligence and characteristic diagnoses. It was found that individuals with higher intelligence more often experience adaptation disorders (33%), those with average intelligence – PTSD (27%), and those with low intelligence – organic emotional disorders (66%).
 The strongest correlation between verbal intelligence and the following personality profile scales was found: schizoid (-0.445, p≤0.01), psychasthenia (-0.436, p≤0.01), paranoia (-0.379, p≤0.01), depression (-0.371, p≤0.01), hysteria (-0.350, p≤0.01), psychopathy (-0.322, p≤0.01), hypomania (-0.251*), and hypochondria (-0.200, p≤0.05).
 The research results allow for the development of specific recommendations regarding psychological support and medical-psychological rehabilitation for military personnel who have experienced Mine-Explosion Trauma (MET). The obtained data can be utilized to enhance psychological training programs for military personnel in the event of possible traumatic situations, helping them better cope with emotional difficulties.

Professional Development of Personnel Is the Basis for Improving the Competitiveness of Service Sector Organizations

For organizations that operate in the market of goods and services, the main goal is to steadily increase competitiveness. Achievement of the set goals and objectives is possible on the basis of professional development of personnel. This is due to the crucial role of the human factor in improving production efficiency. The article presents the results of a study indicating the possibilities of increasing competitiveness in the process of transition to innovative personnel development. The characteristic of the existing personnel development system is given. The interrelation of personnel training and development, as well as the competitiveness of service sector organizations is proved. The conditions of readiness for the development of specialists are determined depending on the degree of competitiveness of the organization. It is established that the increase in the scale and novelty of personnel training programs increase the competitive position of the institution in the market. The directions of training are predetermined as conditions for the growth of competitiveness. The parameters of competitiveness that change in the process of personnel development are revealed. It is confirmed that for an objective assessment of the innovativeness of personnel development, it is necessary to take into account the possibilities of using modern methods. The presented conclusions can be used by specialists in personnel management of enterprises and organizations in the service sector.

Food Allergy: Knowledge and Attitude of Primary School Teachers in Makkah Region, Saudi Arabia.

Food allergy is a serious and potentially life-threatening medical condition that affects both adults and children. School teachers are considered to be among the first line of defense in identifying and responding to such situations, as 22% of food allergic reactions occur in schools. It is, therefore, important to understand the knowledge and attitudes of school teachers toward food allergy. This study is a descriptive, cross-sectional investigation conducted using an online questionnaire fromDecember 2022 to February 2023. We collected data from 413 primary school teachers in Makkah region, Saudi Arabia. SPSS version 21 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY) was used to analyze the data. Out of 413 teachers who met the inclusion criteria, only 14.5% demonstrated good awareness levels (scoring above 60% on the knowledge questionnaire)regarding food allergy, with young teachers making up the highest proportion as 26.1% of younger teachers had good awareness levels compared to 8.8% of teachers aged 51-60 years (p = 0.012). Additionally, 46.7% of the teachers knew the symptoms of a severe allergic reaction, and only 16.7% knew that they should use an epinephrine pen as the first step in managing a severe allergic reaction. School teachers have insufficient knowledge about food allergies, underscoring the importance of establishing school policies to handle food allergies. Such policies should encompass the adoption of a comprehensive food allergy action plan, training programs for school personnel, and educational campaigns.

ANALISIS PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM PELATIHAN DAN PENGEMBANGAN KARYAWAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS KERJA KARYAWAN PADA PUDAM TIRTA BINA LABUHANBATU

The company has previously provided training, promoted development, and kept a pool of skilled people resources. The quality of the workforce also rises when employee performance does, which is essential for achieving corporate goals. The success of the organization is significantly influenced by employee positions. The goal of the study was to determine how well personnel development and training programs had improved work conditions at PUDAM Tirta Bina Labuhanbatu. In this study, secondary data were gathered from library sources such books, journals, and informant comments in addition to primary data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data reduction, presentation, and conclusion-making were all part of data analysis. While the employee training and development programs have been implemented pretty successfully, the study found that there has been insufficient communication between leaders and employees, which has prevented them from reaching their full potential. As a result, the training provided by the company does not fully provide maximum benefits for employees, and their performance still does not reach the expected standard.

Pencegahan Penularan Multi-Resisten Organisme (MRO) Melalui Manset Tekanan Darah

This study aims to explore interventions to prevent the occurrence of multi-resistant organisms (MRO) in patients with blood pressure cuff placement in special care rooms. This research method uses the 2020 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines with the Scopus, PubMed, CINAHL, and SAGE databases. The results of the study found five types of interventions namely disinfection and decontamination with alcohol, addition of hydrogen peroxide in the sterilization process, cuff design with a barrier between the skin and the cuff, education and training programs for medical personnel, and development of standard procedure protocols. In conclusion, interventions to prevent the occurrence of multi-organism resistance in patients with blood pressure cuff placement do not only focus on equipment, but the knowledge and standard of cleaning procedures owned by health workers need to be improved and developed.

Educational methods and technologies in pharmaceutical personnel training programs

The introduction of modern effective technologies and teaching methods is an urgent problem in the training of pharmaceutical personnel. Unfortunately, the main directions of the pharmaceutical industry, such as management, development and quality assurance of medicines, especially the development of technologies for industrial pharmaceutical production, are currently significantly ahead of the pace of development of pharmaceutical education. It should be noted that the purpose of higher and postgraduate education is not only the training of in-demand personnel, but also a look into the future, research and technology transfer, knowledge about the future. In order to bring together the content of the training program and the modern requirements of the pharmaceutical industry for graduates, it is necessary to search and implement effective approaches in training. To this end, in our work we present the experience of implementing project-oriented and dual training in different courses for students of the pharmaceutical training program. The discussion presents the results of the analysis of the implementation processes, the analysis of the problems encountered in the work.

Applied geology – basic training program for mining and geological industry personnel

The development of the human resources potential of the mining and geological industry in Russia is largely a task of the state and its institutions. The shortage of qualified personnel in the field of geological study of the subsurface, as well as the gap in the “education – science – production” system are indicated among other things in the list of challenges and threats to the development of the mineral resource base of the Russian Federation in the new Strategy of Development of the Mineral Resource Base of the Russian Federation until 2035. This strategy was developed and adopted by Order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2914 of 22.12.2018 (hereinafter – Strategy). Obviously, the solution of the tasks aimed at developing the geological industry of Russia and reproduction of the mineral resource base, formulated in the Strategy, will be provided mainly by the geological knowledge and skills formed in the scientific and practical activities of the new generation of geologists. The current modernization of geological education in the absence of professional standards is aimed at combining the competences of university graduates and qualifications of representatives of the profession of geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, hydrogeologists and geological prospectors. Interaction of universities with mining and geological companies in terms of improving educational standards and training programs is especially important in the conditions of the development and large-scale implementation of new technologies for mineral resources study at all stages of the geological exploration process. Reproduction of the personnel potential of the exploration industry should certainly be under the close attention of the state and under its direct management, as it will largely determine the mineral resources sovereignty of the country.

Модульный принцип формирования дополнительных профессиональных программ на основе компетентностного и процессного подходов

The process of designing the content of additional professional training programs for personnel of enterprises and organizations is quite laborious since it requires consideration of the customer’s requirements for the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the employee, same as legislative and regulatory acts in the workplace. In this article, the authors propose a new methodology for forming the content of additional professional training programs on a modular principle, the practical implementation of which is a program design service for the work of a methodologist and an expert on the part of the customer. The concept of the program design service is based on: a competency based approach, which allows determining the goals of education, organizing the educational process and evaluating its results, and a process approach, reflecting the interconnections and interdependencies between the design elements of additional professional training programs. The capabilities of the program design service include: providing a list of competencies from a ready-made list for selection by a methodologist; conclusion of a list of disciplines (modules) that form the specified competencies; formation of an educational and educational-thematic plan and assessment tools package for an additional professional training program. The program design service will speed up the development process and make it more convenient and “transparent” for the customer, formalize the work of the methodologist when designing an additional professional training program, ideal for remote interaction.

Workplace Hostility on Job Performance of Minorities. A Case Study of Selected Nigerian Force in Delta State

In recent times it has been observed that poor performance of employees at work is as a result of some form of workplace hostility such as discrimination and bullying. The study sought to examine the relationships between workplace hostility and Job performance of minorities using gender discrimination, ethnical discrimination and religious discrimination as independent variables that are exhibited by the employees of the selected Nigerian force, 222 battalion of the Nigerian army, Ughelli area command, and Nigerian Navy ship, these Nigerian law enforcement agencies was used as the case study. This study adopted a survey research design. Primary data were collected using the questionnaire. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics while the hypothesis was tested using the Pearson product-moment correlation (PPMC) at 0.05 level of significant. The study revealed that there is significant relationship between gender, religious and ethnical discrimination and job performance of minorities(employees). It was study it was concluded that workplace hostility has negative influence on job performance of minorities. It was recommended that training programs for personnel in the Nigerian force (Army, police and navy), and enforcement of policies by the Nigerian force, so that the nefarious act of discrimination will be gradually reduced and eliminated.

The Impact of SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic on Medical Students: Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices towards E-Learning: An Online Cross-Sectional Study in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq

Background. After COVID-19 emergence, medical education witnessed a shift from face-to-face education to digital education, which inevitably affected medical students. Globally, due to the closure of schools and universities, medical education was shifted to electronic learning (E-learning).
 This paper aimed to assess the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical education and determine medical students’ knowledge, attitude, and practices towards E-learning in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
 Materials and Methods. An online cross-sectional study was conducted among 500 undergraduate students of seven medical colleges in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, in November 2021, to assess their state during the COVID-19 pandemic and how this affected their education.
 Results. There were 50.6% of males and 49.4% of females. The mean age was 20.6 (± 1.5 SD) years. Approximately 17% of participants mentioned having financial issues, while 19.2% of students experienced health-related problems. As many as 67% of participants reported that the Internet quality was good or very good, whereas 46.8% of students disagreed that E-learning was a possible substitute for traditional learning. About two-thirds of participants agreed or were neutral that downloadable content was better than live content; however, only 19.2% of students agreed that E-learning could be used in the clinical aspect. A total of 52.2% of participants disagreed that E-testing could replace traditional learning methods. Surprisingly, 86.4% of students stated that they regularly used the Internet in their study.
 Conclusions. E-learning was the main adjustment made in the educational system, including medical education. The study concluded with insights into how different circumstances could have different consequences on the efficacy of medical education. E-learning showed effective results in continuing learning until the educational system switched to a blended system. Training programs for medical education personnel are vital in effective E-learning opportunities.

The Federal Response to the Opioid Epidemic

The opioid epidemic has been a major public health crisis since the 1990s but was only declared a federal public health emergency in 2017. Since then, the federal government has increased funding to states for programs to address opioid use and overdose deaths. Despite the increased funding in the past five years, opioid-related overdose deaths continue to rise. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) is the major federal agency responsible for allocating federal funds to opioid use disorder prevention, treatment, and personnel training programs. In 2021, SAMHSA allocated funding for opioid use disorder through eleven grant programs with a total of 330 grant awards, amounting to over $150 million. My analysis of 2021 SAMHSA grants aims to identify how funds for opioid use disorder are allocated, examine the relationship between opioid-related overdose deaths and the amount of funding allocated to states, and suggest potential gaps in funding. Ultimately, my research has found that treatment-focused programs were prioritized over prevention and education or training programs by SAMHSA funding. In 2021, treatment programs accounted for 223 of the 330 individual SAMHSA grant awards for opioid use disorder and 100% of grant awards received by nonprofit organizations. Medication-Assisted Treatment is the most commonly funded program among these grant awards. Additionally, states with a higher number of opioid-related overdose deaths are more likely to receive higher funding from SAMHSA grants (p<.001). Conversely, states with higher overdose death crude rates per 100,000 people did not receive adequate funding relative to the size of the population, creating gaps in accessibility to care. Additional gaps in opioid use disorder programs exist due to the downstream focus of funded interventions, neglecting upstream interventions. The data in my research are limited and therefore cannot draw broader conclusions as to how funding influences overdose deaths over time.

WHO-PEN intervention in Iran's health system based on 5As healthy lifestyle counseling model: A randomized-clinical trial.

Skill Training Intervention Based on the Healthy Lifestyle Counselling Module (5As model) in the Ira PEN Program. This study was a randomized controlled trial in Iran. Participants were 184 health workers and 184 clients (92 in each study group). The training program entailed an online training course, educational video, and clip. The behavior related to a healthy lifestyle in clients was also followed-up 2 months later. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22 software. Based on the observations, significant improvement in lifestyle counseling skills among health workers in the intervention group compared to the control group in terms of healthy nutrition (P < 0.001), physical activity (P < 0.001), smoking cessation (P = 0.03), and withdrawal of alcohol consumption (P < 0.001) was observed. Also, lifestyle-related behaviors among clients in terms of healthy nutrition (P < 0.001), physical activity (P < 0.001), and withdrawal smoking (P < 0.001) increased significantly. Furthermore, waist circumference (P < 0.024) and BMI (P < 0.001) among clients were significantly reduced. The training program for health personnel in healthy lifestyle has a more effective role in changing people's behavior and prevention of noncommunicable risk factors. Healthy life style counselling in primary health cares may lead to control risk factors for Noncommunicable disease.

Drill; A Solution to Reduce Mistriage in Prehospital Emergency Setting

Background: Triage is used as one of the main concepts in the emergency medicine to differentiate between critically ill patients or patients in a non-emergency situation. Miss-triage occurs if the prioritization of patients or injured is not done correctly for any reason. Miss-triage occurs in two forms of over and under triage. According to studies, the incidence of miss-triage is high worldwide. Exercising is one of the ways to reduce the amount of miss-triage. Objectives:. This two-group pretest post-test intervention study aimed to investigate the effect of drilling on the miss-triage of emergency medical service personnel. Methods: The tools used in this study included: demographic information form questionnaire, Triage Decision Making Inventory (TDMI), and designed START/jump START triage scenarios. After collecting the required data, these data were analyzed by appropriate parametric and non-parametric statistical tests, including mean and standard deviation, independent t-test, paired t-test, K-square. Results: Results showed that the Miss-triage rate decreased from (34.1%) before the intervention to (9.1%) after the intervention in the experimental group. Moreover, after drill, the score of triage decision-making power increased from (121) to (136.91). However, in the control group, no statistically significant change was observed in the amount of miss-triage and triage decision-making power in emergency medical service personnel at the end of the study (p&gt;.05). Conclusion: The findings of the present study revealed the effectiveness of this exercise method in reducing miss-triage in participants. Thus, this method could be used in emergency medical service personnel training and preparation programs.
