Development of Android-Based Biology Learning Media Plant Tissue-App to Train High School Students' Scientific Argumentation Skills

Student centered learning is important to be implemented to improve and develop students' critical thinking and argumentation skills, so that students become active in learning. The importance of thinking in thinking competence in order to compete in the world of technology industry and towards the era of society 5.0 so that in the future Indonesia will become a developed country and human resources can compete internationally. However, in fact, there are still many students who do not like discussion activities with presentations in front of the class. This causes students' argumentation skills to be low and need to be improved. This is influenced by one of the learning media used by teachers still using textbooks. This study aims to produce a product in the form of biology learning media based on the android plant tissue app application that is suitable for use to train high school students' scientific argumentation skills. This study is a research and development (RD) study with the ADDIE model. Data collection was carried out using a Likert scale assessment instrument which was analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study are the feasibility of media experts by 98% (very feasible), material experts by 74% (feasible), from Biology teachers (81%), and responses from students by 86% (very feasible). These results indicate that the developed media is suitable for use in training high school students' scientific argumentation skills on the focus of plant tissue material.

Development of Interactive Learning Media Assisted by Articulate Storyline 3 to Train High School Students' Problem-Solving Skills

As a result of the PISA test, the science category indicates that students' problem-solving abilities in Indonesia fall within the low category. This study aims to describe (1) the feasibility of interactive learning media assisted by the Articulate Storyline 3 application, (2) the improvement of students' problem-solving abilities after using learning media assisted by Articulate Storyline 3, and (3) student responses to Articulate Storyline 3-assisted learning media. This research uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the ADDIE model. The research subjects are students of the 10th grade at Public High School 8 in Bengkulu City. The research instruments used are interview sheets, observations, needs analysis, expert validation, pretest-posttest, and student response questionnaires. Data collection is done through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using quantitative analysis techniques and summarized qualitatively. The product generated is interactive learning media assisted by Articulate Storyline 3, with expert validation results showing a 90% percentage in the highly feasible category. Students' problem-solving abilities, tested with the N-gain test, obtained a score of 0.65, indicating moderate improvement, and student responses received an 83% percentage in the very good category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the development of interactive learning media assisted by Articulate Storyline 3 to train students' problem-solving abilities is highly feasible

Military Education and Military-Physical Training of Schoolchildren in the Chkalovsk (Orenburg) Region During the Great Patriotic War

The relevance of studying the problem of military education and military physical training of schoolchildren of the Chkalovsky (Orenburg) region during the Great Patriotic War has scientific, practical and cognitive significance, since the study of this topic reveals the regional aspect of the problem.The purpose of the study is to study military education and military physical training of school students of the Chkalov (Orenburg) region during the war as a scientific problem.The objectives are a systematic analysis of military training and military-physical training of schoolchildren in the region during the war period, revealing the difficulties and complexities of solving this problem.The methodology of the work is based on following the principles of historicism, consistency and objectivity. Both general scientific methods of cognition (analysis, synthesis) and special historical methods were used: problemchronological, comparative historical.Results. During the Great Patriotic War, the issue of organizing military-physical training of high school students on a large state scale became particularly acute. It was thanks to the purposeful and coordinated work of all authorities to solve this problem in the schools of the country, including the Chkalov region, that relatively prepared reinforcements arrived in the troops.Conclusion. With the outbreak of the war, there was a practical need for students to undergo military training while still at school, since many after graduation entered the active army. Although this work was launched in the prewar years, but in the conditions of the Great Patriotic War it took on a full-scale character. The country's leadership was able to build in extreme conditions a fairly effective system of training young people for military trials, as close as possible to combat. However, the solution to this problem has caused a number of difficulties in the Chkalov region: incomplete staffing of schools with military instructors and teachers of military affairs; low general education and pedagogical training of some of them; staff turnover; insufficient material provision of schools with sports, gymnastics and military equipment. However, these problems were gradually resolved over the course of the war.

Development of HOTS-Based Interactive E-Modules to Train High School Students' Critical Thinking Skills on Harmonic Vibration Material

The goal of this project is to create an interactive e-module using Hots to teach high school students how to think critically about content related to harmonic vibration that is both realistic and well-received by the students. Thirty-five pupils from class X SMAN 01 Bengkulu City provided the data for this study. The 4D model research method—which stands for Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate—is used in this study. The study employed many instruments, including observation sheets, student impression sheets, instructor needs questionnaires, and expert team validation sheets. In order to aid students in understanding the teaching materials, the resulting e-module includes text, tables, graphics, formulas, and learning videos. Additionally, an interactive quiz within the e-module allows students to practice their skills. The results of this study indicate that the developed e-module is included in the very feasible category with a value of 87.2%. Students' perception of this e-module is included in the very good category with a value of 84.4%.

Application of The PjBL Model to Train Science Literacy Skills of High School Students on the Subject of Alternative Energy

The development of science and technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 requires everyone to master 21st-century skills, one of which is science literacy. Science literacy skills in Indonesia are still relatively low. Students' low science literacy skills are caused by several factors: the selection of learning models, teaching materials, and non-contextual learning. This study aims to describe the application of the PjBL model to train high school students' science literacy skills on the subject of alternative energy. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The sampling technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments used in this study were observation sheets for implementing the learning model and student worksheets. The qualitative data analysis technique used in this research is a case study. The results showed that implementing learning conducted in groups could make students active in solving problems. Each group actively participated in answering student worksheets and completing projects by analyzing and making alternative solutions to the problems presented. The stages in the student worksheet following the PjBL model can shape the science literacy skills of high school students. This study's conclusion shows that applying the PjBL model trains students' science literacy skills. While applying the PjBL model, researchers directed each group to carry out project activities through the learning stages of the PjBL model. Each group was able to identify and provide solutions to problems, design product plans, develop schedules, make simple projects following the design, test the results, and make conclusions.

This training aims to train high school students in writing skills which need to be taught from an early age so that they do not have difficulty doing the assignments given by their teachers and when doing assignments from their lecturers in college in the future. Students are given training by paying attention to Indonesian grammar. When writing scientific papers, you need to pay attention to grammar, writing systematics, writing methodology, and the theories used. The implementation methods used in this activity are the preparation, implementation, program evaluation, and reporting stages. This training was carried out at Plus Musthofa Kamal Islamic High School with students as participants. They are taught to write methods, results, and discussions by paying attention to grammar. It is hoped that training like this will continue to be carried out as a form of cooperation and increase the contribution of universities.

The Creation of a Cross-Age Scientific Curricular Experience Program Model: Exploring Instructor Self-Efficacy and Learner Engagement

Students teaching students is widely accepted to be one of the most effective teaching methods with benefits for both the students teaching and those that are learning (Sorcinelli, 1991; Stigmar, 2016). Previous studies have found that students acting as instructors experience improved content knowledge and develop skills and confidence in communication of complex subject matter (Swim, 1999). Students learning from other students experience increased enjoyment and enthusiasm in learning science (Hinck, 2013; Rao et al., 2007). We created a cross-age scientific curricular experience program model that utilized hands-on activities with instruction by trained high school students. This study aims to understand how these curricular experiences impact the self-efficacy of student instructors as well as student learner engagement. We found that student instructors commonly have positive teaching experiences and feel more confident about teaching after each curricular experience. Student engagement during all curricular experiences was high and reflections from instructors, students, and classroom-teachers highlighted the benefits of students teaching students. Overall, this study shows support for cross-age instruction and the importance of hands-on activities in scientific education. We hope educators increase cross-age instruction and hands-on activities throughout their science classes.

The Development of an E-book Based on Local Wisdom Around Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park to Train High School Students' Creative Thinking Skill

Objective: This research aims to produce an e-book based on local wisdom on the use of medicinal plants by the people around Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park on plantae material to train students' creative thinking skills. Method: The research uses the ADDIE development model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Data retrieval through a validation process by three validators, namely education experts, material experts, and biology teachers, practicality through readability tests. Results: The results of the e-book validation get an average high score with very valid criteria. The practicality of the e-book is measured based on the readability test. The readability test results show the readability level at level 10 so that it is suitable for use by grade X students. Novelty: Students' creative thinking skills can be trained by integrating local wisdom with various learning media such as books, modules, and student worksheets, both printed and electronic.

Comparison of the Effectiveness of Training Problem-Solving Skills Based on Gestalt and Bandura Theories on Problem-Solving Styles among High School Students

Background and Objective: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of problem-solving techniques based on Gestalt and Bandura's theories in training high school students. Materials and Methods: All 6,000 female students in the first year of secondary school in Hamedan, Iran, were involved in the current semi-experimental study. The statistical sample size was 75 individuals (3 groups of 25) selected using the purposive sampling method. Moreover, the MANCOVA test and Scheffe's post hoc test were used to analyze the data. Results: The results showed that teaching problem-solving skills based on the two theories of Gestalt and Bandura affected students' five problem-solving strategies. The use of negative, avoidant, and impulsive orientation techniques by students was decreased as a result of this training, which increased logical and positive orientation techniques. Conclusions: The benefits of training problem-solving skills based on these theories often varied on students' problem-solving methods. When compared to training based on Gestalt theory, Bandura's theory-based problem-solving training had a greater influence on logical and avoidance methods.

APPLICATION OF PEDAGOGICAL QUALIMETRY IN ASSESSING THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

This work is devoted to the study of the use of pedagogical qualimetry as a tool for assessing the educational achievements of high school students. Pedagogical qualimetry is a modern methodology that combines pedagogical and metric approaches to the assessment of educational results. The paper discusses the basic principles and methods of pedagogical qualimetry, as well as its application in the context of high school. The study includes an analysis of the effectiveness of pedagogical qualimetry in assessing individual student achievements, as well as its potential forimproving the educational process. Special attention is paid to the possibility of creating personalized educational programs based on data obtained with the help of pedagogical qualimetry. The results of the study can be useful for teachers, administrators of educational institutions and researchers in the field of education, seeking to improve the process of assessment and training of high school students, taking into account their individual needs and abilities.

Development to Train High School Students' Reading Literacy Skills

This study aims to develop an E-Module to train high school students' reading literacy skills. The e-module was designed using Canva-assisted power point and saved in power point show. The power point show is then sent via WhatsApp for students to use. This research uses the development method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) according to. The implementation phase uses a pretest – posttest non-equivalent control group design to obtain information about the effect the developed E-Module. This research was conducted at a public high school in Cimahi City, West Java Province in February-March 2023. The sample for this study was taken by convenience sampling , namely 30 students from class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class and 30 students from class XI IPA 2 as the experimental class. control. The instruments and data collection techniques used in this study were the due diligence validation sheets, readability tests and reading literacy skills tests. The results showed that the feasibility test for the developed E-module showed very feasible criteria, the readability test showed a result of 80% with easy-to-understand criteria and the development of this E-module could increase reading literacy skills by 0.7 with high criteria on the indicator of finding information, 0.8 with high criteria on indicators of interpretation and integration and a score of 1 with high criteria on evaluating and reflecting indicators.

Effectiveness of popular scientific books about the diversity of ornamental plants to train high school students' critical thinking skills

No research has been conducted in the Pagat tourist area which has various types of ornamental plants that can be processed as teaching materials in the form of popular scientific books based on local potential to train high school students' critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of popular scientific books. The research method uses formative evaluation based on Tessmer's design which consists of self-evaluation, expert validation (3 lecturers), individual test (3 students), small group test (5 students) and field test (10 students). The results of the research on the effectiveness of the BIP as a result of the development found that the criteria were very good for use by high school students because they had been fulfilled, which meant that the BIP was easy to use. This is supported by the positive response from students towards learning using the developed BIP. Students' critical thinking skills are included in the medium category with an average N-Gain of 0.5 so that they can be implemented in learning. In conclusion, the development of BIP development results is effectively used in an effort to train students' critical thinking skills.Abstrak Belum ada dilakukan penelitian di Kawasan objek wisata Pagat yang memiliki berbagai macam jenis tanaman hias yang dapat diolah sebagai bahan ajar berbentuk buku ilmiah popular berbasis potensi lokal untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan buku ilmiah popular. Metode penelitian menggunakan evaluasi formatif berdasarkan desain Tessmer yang terdiri dari evaluasi diri, validasi ahli (3 dosen), uji perorangan (3 siswa), uji kelompok kecil (5 siswa) dan uji lapangan (10 siswa). Hasil penelitian keefektifan BIP hasil pengembangan mendapatkan kriteria sangat baik digunakan oleh siswa SMA karena telah terpenuhi yang artinya BIP mudah untuk digunakan. Hal ini didukung oleh respon positif dari siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan BIP hasil pengembangan. Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa termasuk kategori sedang dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,5 sehingga dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran. Kesimpulannya pengembangan BIP hasil pengembangan efektif digunakan dalam upaya melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Hands-On Methods to Educate High School Students about Cancer Research

Offering high school students’ exposure to university level laboratory research encourages interest in science, develops critical thinking, and prepares the new generation for college and careers. In this study, we report on the development of an immersive 2-week summer camp with the aim of training high school students in cancer research. Carefully selected laboratory methods were chosen to yield distinct visible results with the sole goal of making complex concepts more accessible and engaging to high school students. The 20 participants were randomly selected from a bigger pool of candidates without any prior registration requirements, such as grades or prior lab experience. Survey questionnaires given to students on the first day of the program outlined the background of each student and helped the instructors to better understand their goals and expectations. The postcamp survey, which measured satisfaction and potential areas for improvement, was completed by students after their departure from the campus and served as an unbiased evaluation of our program. Considering the feedback from students, our program was very successful. Whereas information for such programs is not broadly available, research laboratories and future summer camps that aim to train high school or undergraduate students with minimal laboratory experience may utilize this pedagogy as a template for their programs.

Creation and implementation of a progressive model of medical staff training in the Republican Medical College of the Ministry of Health of the Udmurt Republic

The article presents the experience of the Autonomous Professional Educational Institution of the Udmurt Republic «Republican Medical College named after the Hero of the Soviet Union F. A. Pushina of the Ministry of Health of the Udmurt Republic» (hereinafter — APEI UR «RMC of the MOH UR») to improve the efficiency of training specialists with secondary medical education. Aim. To study the experience of the APEI UR «RMC of the MOH UR» in improving the efficiency of training specialists with secondary medical education from the stage of pre-professional training of high school students of general educational organizations to postgraduate education. Results. The analysis showed an increase in the number of students trained in the main vocational training programs in the medical field as part of the implementation of the republican project «Medical Classes» for the period from 2019 to 2022, as well as an increase in the number of applicants to medical educational organizations from among them, which indicates a high effectiveness of pre-professional medical training. Individual work with senior students, aimed at getting acquainted with the working conditions in medical organizations of the republic, can increase the motivation of graduates to find employment in a specific workplace and prevent the phenomenon of «early disappointment in the profession». In modern conditions, there is a high need for the implementation of continuous professional programs in forms that allow minimizing the distraction of specialists from the labor process during the training period. The change in the needs of medical organizations in the types and forms of postgraduate training of specialists led to a change in the structure of the State assignment of the APEI UR «RMC of the MOH UR» for the provision of educational services, the need to improve part-time and distance forms of implementing programs using e-learning and distance learning technologies. Conclusion. The results of the analysis indicate the need to improve the system of medical education in terms of expanding the coverage of long-term (at least a year) career guidance projects for high-school students of general education schools; to more actively involve healthcare professionals in the educational process as mentors, internship supervisors, field practice leaders, etc.; to focus on practice orientation of continuous professional education and development of distance learning technologies.

ВОЕННО-ПАТРИОТИЧЕСКОЕ ВОСПИТАНИЕ В ВУЗАХ УРАЛА В ГОДЫ ВЕЛИКОЙ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННОЙ ВОЙНЫ

The paper analyses forms and methods of military-patriotic education of students of higher educational institutions in the Urals during the Great Patriotic War. It shows that educational system operating during the war period was based on the historical traditions of Russian patriotism, which repeatedly contributed to the unity of society and achievement of victory over the enemy. When analyzing the educational process aimed at raising the level of patriotic consciousness of students, the main emphasis is placed on the characteristics of military, physical, ideological and theoretical training of high school students, as well as on their practical participation in mass political activities that united all the efforts of the people fighting Nazism to achieve the main goal — defeat of the enemy. The paper notes that the strict control of the leading party-state bodies of the regional, city, district and university scale over the process of improving the system of military-patriotic education of students, significantly increased its organizational capabilities, and bringing the base of the ideological theory that prevailed in the country at that time under objective patriotic feelings, made the practical actions of students to protect the Motherland conscious and theoretically justified. This explains an active position of the Ural students in the war years, which determined their positive performance in military and physical training, propaganda work and patriotic movements. It is concluded that the higher educational institutions of the Urals, together with other universities of the USSR, became the most important centres of military-patriotic education, which in every possible way contributed to the military and labour unity of Soviet society, which defeated German Nazism. Social unity is also necessary for modern Russia, therefore, the existing historical experience should be studied and used in practice.

Needs Analysis for Developing Problem Solving-Based E-Module for Projectile Motion to Train High School Students’ Conceptual Understanding in Pekanbaru

The conceptual understanding of high school students in Pekanbaru is still low. This is due to: 1) the need for students’ active involvement in problem-solving activities and 2) the lack of interactive learning resources in motivating and strengthening students’ conceptual understanding. Students’ low conceptual understanding can be overcome by using a learning media in the form of a problem-solving-based e-module in the learning activities. This research is survey research—the first step in developing a problem-solving-based e-learning module. The purpose of this research is to find out what the students need in learning physics which results in the need to develop a problem-solving-based e-module on physics learning. The results of the analysis of 102 students suggested that 63.7% of the students use printed books in learning, which, according to students, are less practical. Moreover, as many as 61.8% of the students experience problems in problem-based learning, meaning that students have problems in analysing problems as well as interpreting and evaluating problemsolving; therefore, problem-solving-based learning is needed. As many as 59.8% of the students don’t learn independently, meaning that students are very dependent on the role of the teacher. Furthermore, based on the results of the survey, 53.9% of the students feel more enthusiastic if the learning uses technology, and 66.7% considered the concept of projectile motion as difficult. These results indicate that it is necessary to develop teaching material in the form of problem solving-based e-module for projectile motion as a physics learning medium to train students’ conceptual understanding in the city of Pekanbaru.

Prerequisites for the training of high school students in the competence to carry out experiences in the humanities

Today, the idea of moving from traditional training to research-based learning is being circulated more and more often - a premise for the formation of the competence to carry out experiences in the humanities - which aims at the organic integration of the student into the knowledge-based society. Being a didactic method based on experience, in its context the student learns to apply in practice the theoretical knowledge obtained in the classroom, acting pertinently, individually or in groups, to solve the problems identified in society. In this context, learning through research is the one that offers opportunities for the cumulative development of knowledge, their understanding, thus developing students' motivation and interest in science.

НАВЧАННЯ СТАРШОКЛАСНИКІВ СТВОРЕННЮ ВИРОБІВ ЗА ВЛАСНИМ ПРОЄКТОМ

The article proves the relevance of the problem of training young people in various traditional types of Ukrainian decorative and applied arts and folk crafts of Ukraine. It is noted that the preservation of the heritage of Ukrainian culture is the key to the preservation of the nation and the formation of national self-awareness among young people. Attention is focused on the fact that Ukrainian carpet making is one of the important types of decorative and applied art, which requires the preservation of the best traditions in today's conditions, it has a long history, is marked by regional features, traditions and heritage. It is noted that Reshetylivshchyna is rich in authentic carpet-making traditions, hand-weaving techniques, ornaments and patterns, compositional solutions and colors. Carpet making is taught at the Reshetyliv Art Vocational Lyceum – young people acquire the profession of «painter, carpet maker». The scientific-pedagogical literature on project-technological activities was studied and our own long-term work experience was summarized, which allowed us to summarize the work and develop a methodology for teaching high school students to create carpets according to their own project. The presented method involves familiarizing them with the history of the development of carpet making in Ukraine, studying the assortment of used materials, equipment and devices, forming the following abilities and skills in them: creating a technical drawing (pattern), performing preparatory work in carpet making, weaving carpet fabric using various weaving techniques, execution of final and finishing works in carpet making. It was concluded that the developed method of teaching high school students to create carpets according to their own project is effective, as it allows students to comprehensively study carpet making as a form of decorative and applied art and perfectly master the ancient traditions of Reshetila carpet making, show creative activity, develop aesthetic tastes on the best products recognized by the world Reshetiliv craftsmen. The issue of effective professional training of high school students in the field of carpet weaving, formation of relevant professional skills in them requires further scientific research. It is necessary to develop methodological recommendations for the independent work of students in the minds of a mixed form of education.
