Along with the increasingly rapid development of technology, by seeing this potential, tourism promotion in South Bengkulu can utilize smartphones as a medium in providing tourism information in South Bengkulu to the public/smartphone users. Therefore, a website-based application was made for information facilities on tourist attractions in South Bengkulu. The research method used is by using interviews, observation, literature study and the system development method is requirement engineering, design, the stages of developing a tourist information system are implemented using the RAD (rapid application development) method. and testing. In making this website using xampp, MySql, PHP, client server and micromedia dreamweafer The result of making a website application at a tourist attraction in South Bengkulu is to provide information for users or tourists in finding information about tourism, culture and arts.

Potensi Wisata Kuliner Untuk Pengembangan Pariwisata di Kota Medan

Culinary tourism is a part of tourism. The variety of culinary delights available in each region can be developed as an attraction for tourists to visit an area, this phenomenon can also be seen in the city of Medan. The great potential in Medan city has not been supported by adequate information about Medan’s culinary wealth. Many factors cause a lack of information for tourists. Therefore this study aims to: 1). Especially the types and culinary potential typical of Medan, North Sumatra, 2). Avoiding the problems encountered in developing culinary specialties of Medan in supporting tourism potential in the city of Medan. This research uses a type of qualitative research, and descriptive data analysis techniques, which will discuss what potential it has and how to develop it. The results of the study show that there is potential for culinary tourism that can be developed as a tourist attraction in the city of Medan, 1). Culinary tours in the field include rujak kolam, mie aceh titi bobrok, tip top restaurant and ucok durian, 2). The problem that is often faced in the development of culinary tourism in the city of Medan is the lack of promotion and expansion of marketing both through print and electronic media.

Trends of Information Systems in Tourism: A Review of Literature

Travel and tourism is the world's largest and fastest-growing industry that benefits the environment, society, and economy by supporting businesses and improving supply chain efficiency. Reliable information is crucial for informed decision-making and positive experiences in this sector. Information technology has had a significant impact on the industry, leading to changes in organisational operations. Tourism companies use digital tools to promote sustainable tourism and achieve development goals. To stay competitive, businesses must embrace technology and adapt to new trends. Though there has been voluminous but fragmented research to cover the various aspects of the tourism information system by several researchers over the years, a big picture is still missing due to the dynamic changes in the technological aspects that reveal varied developments in the tourism industry. Hence, this paper reviews recent IT developments in tourism and hospitality, analysing research articles from the past decade. It aims to contribute to existing knowledge, provide insights into practical implementations, and suggest areas for further research in information systems in tourism. Pengembangan Panduan Digital Wisata Halal Berbahasa Arab Berbasis Budaya Indonesia: Menyelami Kebutuhan Wisatawan Muslim

This study aims to analyze the need for a digital guide to halal tourism in Arabic language based on Indonesian culture in Kabupaten Aceh Besar, Lombok Barat, and Gorontalo. The primary objectives are to provide practical and quick information about halal tourism, enhance domestic and international visits, and promote the unique cultural heritage of these three regions. The research adopts the Borg and Gall development model. The identification of the guide's needs utilizes data from documentation and questionnaires filled out by tourists, hotel managers, village administrators, tourism department officials, and travel companies. The study concludes that a digital Arabic-language halal tourism guide needs to be developed in terms of content (halal facilities, recreational activities, types of tourism), culture (information on local culture and permissible practices), and technology (application-based design for convenient access to tourism information).

Strategies to Increase the Tourism Attractiveness of Lombok Timur, Indonesia through Smart City

This research aims to find out how the strategy of increasing tourist attraction in Lombok Timur Regency through smart city and how the obstacles experienced when implementing smart city in Lombok Timur Regency. By using a descriptive qualitative approach. And by using primary data and secondary data. Data collection using interview, observation and documentation methods. The results of this study indicate that the strategy carried out in increasing tourist attractiveness in Lombok Timur through smart city takes time so that its implementation can run optimally. Some of the strategies carried out by the local government are by making the Lotim Go application, Social Media Branding, the Pesona Gumi Selaparang Programme, and the Tourism Website. The above strategies are made as a form of effort to make it easier for tourists to obtain tourist information in Lombok Timur. And by implementing this strategy, it is hoped that it can make tourist destinations continue to grow and develop, can increase the number of tourist visits and increase local revenue (PAD). The obstacles in implementing and innovating smart cities in Lombok Timur Regency experienced by the local government are position transfers, budget constraints, lack of socialisation, lack of coordination between regional apparatus organisations and lack of IT experts.

Development of an informative web application for the promotion of ecotourism: A case study

INTRODUCTION: En a global context where technology is essential for the search of information and decision-making by tourists, the creation of digital platforms is a key strategy to promote sustainable tourism practices.OBJECTIVES: We aim to develop an informative web application aimed at promoting ecotourism in Lake Cuipari, using it as a case study.METHODS: The software development followed the phases established in the Agile methodology Extreme Programming: i) Exploration, ii) Planning, iii) Interactions, iv) Production, and v) Maintenance. To ensure the quality of the software product, we applied black-box testing.RESULTS: We successfully developed a functional informational web application with two panels, administrative and visitor. The web application allows users to learn about the location of Lake Cuipari, explains access conditions, and provides information about native species in and around the lake. These species are categorized into birds, amphibians, and fish, with academic, scientific, and tourist interest.CONCLUSION: The informational web application serves as a digital platform that enables the municipality and the local community to promote ecotourism in Lake Cuipari for the sake of its preservation and sustainability. This is achieved through the increased provision of information for potential tourists.

Tourism plays a vital role in supporting the economy while preserving cultural values. Several things need attention in tourism development, one of which is the emergence and arrangement of tourism destinations, which the development of a sustainable tourism sector must support. Based on this background, the problem was formulated: how to regulate the law against discriminatory acts in the tourism sector and how the phenomenon of discriminatory acts against tourism entrepreneurs in Indonesia. The research method used in this research is normative law research. This study concludes that legal arrangements for safe tourism development are regulated based on Article 26 paragraph (d) of Law no. 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism is obliged to provide comfort, friendliness, protection of security and safety of tourists. In addition, according to Article 23 paragraph (1) letter a of Law no. 10 of 2009, the government and regional governments are obliged to provide tourism information, legal protection, as well as security and safety to tourists

Diffusion of Innovation in Tourism Information Systems (SIMPARTA) for Tourism Development in Serang Regency Banten

The focus of this research is the diffusion process of innovation in the Serang Regency Tourism Information System (SIMPARTA). Innovation diffusion is the process by which innovation is communicated through specific channels over time in social systems. Diffusion is needed to produce an easy approach so that people or individuals understand and use the innovations that have been carried out by the government. Serang Regency has a very large area with various natural tourism potentials, ranging from beach tourism to mountain tourism. However, tourism in Serang Regency still does not provide great interest for domestic and foreign tourists to visit. To attract domestic and foreign tourists, the Serang Regency Government made an application called SIMPARTA. SIMPARTA Serang Regency is a web-based application in the form of a tourist directory. One of the purposes of using the SIMPARTA application is as a vehicle to develop the tourism industry in Serang Regency. With this application, it is expected that domestic and foreign tourists will know various tourism and culinary places in Serang Regency, so that the number of tourist visitors in Serang Regency increases. Innovation is not only born to exist but how this innovation is understood, used and ultimately has a positive impact. For this reason, the process of diffusion of innovation is needed.

Research on the structure model of competitive factors of tourism information systems influencing socio-economic environmental performing arts industry in Anhui province based on SmartPLS analysis method

With the development of technology, tourism information systems are playing an important role in facilitating travel and enhancing tourist experiences. These systems include online booking platforms, mobile applications, virtual tour guides, and information centers that allow tourists to store destinations accommodation and provide valuable information about events and cultural experiences. The purpose of this study is to understand how socio-economic factors affect travel decisions and how the tourism information system takes advantage of technology so that tourists have valuable information and services can be provided. Looking for this relationship, the study enhances tourist experiences, helping local economies, and it wants to identify opportunities to promote sustainable practices that meet both tourist preferences and the needs of local communities. In the Anhui region of China, the study uses a survey method to gather data from 300 visitors at popular tourist destinations such as Zhiyuan Temple, Tunxi Ancient Street, Huangshan's granite peaks and twisted pines, and Wancuilou Museum. The data is analyzed using structural equation modelling (SEM). Convenience sampling, a non-probability sampling technique, is the foundation of this study. In the fictitious study's results, the effect of socio-economic factors on tourists' travel decisions, the importance of a tourism information system in enriching travel experiences, and the ability of tourism information systems to support local economies and promote sustainable practices can be included. In addition, tourism information systems can offer valuable contactless solutions for tourists, and there may be opportunities to use technologies such as virtual reality and agnate reality for immersive destination previews. The study offers perceptions on the variables that entertainers and artists should consider to maintain their system in the market and enhance the province's overall tourism offering. The research gap needs to be filled is how to improve the current models of Anhui province's tourism information system factors to better prepare visitors for consumer behavior. In addition to giving a more thorough understanding of consumer behavior and government policies regarding the technology used in the tourism information system, the research findings may serve to increase the overall quality of the tourism industry.

Peningkatan Keterampilan Jurnalistik Masyarakat Pelaku Industri Pariwisata Di Kecamatan Sukamakmur, Kabupaten Bogor

This activity aims to increase understanding and journalistic skills as an effort to optimize the tourism information system (SIPARIS) website by Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency. It's because the role of the SIPARIS website is very important to inform about tourism potential in Sukamakmur District, but turns out that the SIPARIS website content is no longer updated and less informative. To make the website more attractive, the content must be made as informative as possible, so that users who want to know about tourism in Sukamakmur District can get complete information on the SIPARIS website. The participants of this training are website managers, tourism awareness groups, and tourism actors in Sukamakmur Sub-district who are expected to become resources for developing content and information on the website. The method used is a workshop to convey journalistic material, then practice the material that has been learned. The achievement of the success of this service is through pre-test and post-test after the workshop is completed. The result of the activity is the increase in knowledge as well as journalistic skills of the participants, to support the optimization of the SIPARIS website.

Destination Image, Location and Price on The Interest Of Visiting Tourists in The Warm Water Tourism Park Umbul Temple

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of destination image, location and price on the interest of visiting tourists at the Umbul Temple Warm Water Tourism Park. Data were obtained through documentation and questionnaires. The sample used in the study of 78 respondents. The results of the study are expected to provide useful information for managers and tourists. Then the results of the study were processed using the SPSS 23.0 application so that the data obtained were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, validity test, reliability test, F test, coefficient of determination test and hypothesis testing. The analysis shows that there is positive and significant influence of the destination image, location and price on the interest of visiting tourists at the Umbul Temple Warm Water Tourism Park.

Investigating the quality of Iranian hospitals’ websites and their association to the Province’s share of medical tourism

BackgroundNowadays, virtual methods are among the most important and influential marketing instruments in various industries, such as medical tourism. This study aims to investigate the quality of Iranian hospitals’ web pages and their association with the province’s share of the medical tourism industry in Iran and the ownership type of hospitals.MethodsIn this analytical cross-sectional study, the quality of hospitals’ websites was investigated through a 36-item self-administered questionnaire which was validated, and its reliability was verified (Cronbach’s alpha = 74%.). The questionnaire was categorized into three sections: hospital services and facilities, hospital’s medical tourism-related services, and tourism information of the destination province. The census method was used for data collection. Data analysis was performed using the independent t-test and analysis of variance in SPSS software (version 25), and a P-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.ResultsA total of, 102 hospitals with an IPD (International Patients Department) were included in the study, and 21.6% did not have an English-language page and were excluded from the study. The mean total score was 47 ± 7.5, indicating low-quality content. Public hospitals had lower quality scores than semi-private and private hospitals. The total quality score, information about the hospital and its services, and the score of information about medical tourism-related services were associated with the province’s share of national medical tourism.ConclusionAccording to the obtained results and the possible role of website quality in increasing provinces’ medical tourism development, the IPD page on hospital websites should be revised and regularly updated to make them more informative for prospective medical tourists.

The Effectiveness of the Instagram Account @Pariaman.tourism as a Media of Tourism Information and Promotion in Kota Pariaman

The Tourism and Culture Office of Pariaman City designed a planning program with several stages, namely content creation, platform determination, program implementation, monitoring and the final stage of evaluating. This planning is carried out to maximize tourism-related information and promotions through media that are considered quite effective, so as to have an influence on the number of tourists visiting both on a national and international scale. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which the effectiveness of social media accounts can be a medium for fulfilling information and promoting tourism. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The research population is Instagram followers @pariaman.tourism and a sample of 366 respondents. The results of the research on the effectiveness of communication on the Instagram account @pariaman.tourism seen from the theory of communication effectiveness according to Hardjana which consists of six indicators, obtained a value of 3.30 which is included in the very effective scale range. Thus, the Instagram account @pariaman.tourism is a very effective medium in conveying information and promotions about tourism in the city of Pariaman.

Use case modeling in a research setting of developing an innovative pilgrimage support system

With so much confusion around use case modeling, software developers may be reluctant to apply it. However, use cases are easy to apply and have great benefits even in research settings with nonprofessional software developers involved. We report on our experience on this within an innovative tourist information system developed in a research setting of an ongoing Horizon 2020 project named Promotion of Rural Museums and Heritage Sites in the Vicinity of European Pilgrimage Routes (rurAllure). The resulting use case model comprises forty use cases supported by class diagrams, use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, as well as by the domain model and dictionary. Three quarters of use cases have been implemented at least to some extent. Writing use cases provoked intense communication, which helped consolidate the system architecture. The use cases helped validate and better understand the GUI form wireframes designed beforehand and get quickly to a consistent implementation of the system that can be experimented with further in different ways. Finally, the forthcoming extensive system and user experience testing will be guided by the use case model. The paper also exposes the domain model and dictionary along with selected use cases and the hierarchy of user and system actors, which may be useful as such or as a stimulus for the development of other innovative tourist information systems.

An elaboration of obstacles and perspectives of medical tourism development taking the approach of integrated service provision (Case study: Isfahan Province, Iran)

Aim. The intention of the present research has been to examine and evaluate the barriers and limitations to the development of medical tourism in Isfahan as one of Iran’s tourism destinations by taking the approach of service integration.Materials and Methods. This exploratory research was conducted using mixed qualitative and quantitative methodology. Data analysis by the qualitative method was done using MAXQDA-18 software, while by the quantitative method a combination of SWOT strategic planning technique and multi-criteria decision making was usedResults. Multiple weaknesses and challenges were classified by using a framework of indexes developed on different dimensions including: quality of medical services and facilities; access to medical and tourism information; infrastructures and regulations; communications and marketing; environmental factors; treatment procedures and passive defense and international barriers. Meanwhile, the role of each of these dimensions and sub-indexes in impeding medical tourism development in the region was evaluated by examining the association between the various dimensions contributing to medical tourism development in Isfahan.Conclusions. To remove the barriers identified, several strategies are proposed. including the provision of health-based integrated services (medical, treatment and wellness), development of shared products by the sectors involved in this domain, compilation of a comprehensive plan for health tourism development, preparation of a coherent and well-organized scientific plan given the policies of resilient economy, realistic and practical attention to the branding issues, the usage of up-to-date methods of modern marketing plan for the health companies and facilitators, removal of the legal barriers to the medical tourism development and compilation of new supportive, supervisory and advertising policies.

Murale w przestrzeni miasta. Analiza funkcji i rozmieszczenia na przykładzie Słupska

Mural art is popular in many cities in Poland. Słupsk is one of them. The main goal of the paper is to present the distribution, theme, and functions of the murals in Słupsk. In the space of this medium-sized city situated in Pomerania region 40 murals have been catalogued and described according to the adopted criteria, thus obtaining detailed information about their location and subject matter. Most of Słupsk’s murals are in the Old Town, especially located in the revitalized area. The analysis of their detailed location shows that they are both in prominent places (main streets and squares) and in less visible places (side streets, gates, garage walls). The themes of murals in Słupsk are diverse. In-depth interviews with representatives of the city hall, cultural centre, tourist information centre, a foundation operating in the field of culture, social activation, and education, as well as mural artists in Słupsk allowed also to obtain information on the murals’ functions and paths of their creation in the urban space. Respondents emphasized the importance of murals in the revitalization of the city and drew attention to their educational, tourist and promotional function.
