Analysis of Policies in the Field of the Tourism Industry from the Republic of Moldova in Ensuring the Sustainability of Sports Tourism

As diminishing the effect of the pandemic, the tourism industry in the Republic of Moldova is starting to recover after a period in which not only local tourism suffered, but also the international one. The current research aims at the potential of the sports infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova, but also the place of sports tourism in regional policies for the coming years. The subject of the research aims at the effects of the policies implemented in recent years, which contribute to the development of sports tourism. The methods that made it possible to carry out the present research included the analysis of specialized literature and the statistical-mathematical one. The results of the research highlighted the fact that in the Republic of Moldova, among the forms of tourism on the rise are gastronomic, transit and sports tourism, the latter becoming more and more popular. All this is due to central and regional policy instruments, which in recent years have led to the development of the necessary infrastructure, a fact that allowed the organization of large-scale sports events. Moreover, they had the ability to attract athletes, who used various local tourist services during the sports events. The mentioned leads us to conclude that at the regional level, in the development policies for the coming years, most of the authorities have measures to boost sports tourism.

A Review of Marketing Stratergies for Promoting Sustainable Tourism Destinations in India

Sustainable tourism for Indian destinations is promoted and marketed by utilizing marketing strategies to gain interest from travelers. However, the promotion of sustainable tourism destinations is achieved in a manner that does not jeopardize the environment or community conservation. Sustainable tourism is promoted by increasing the destination's visibility, which includes social media marketing, search engine optimization, and content marketing, one such example is the scheme of Swadesh Darshan, which was launched by the Indian tourism and it aims for the development of sustainable tourism destinations. Furthermore, enhancing cultural and community features in marketing might help to attract and retain tourists' interest, thereby strengthening sustainable tourism. To entice people to visit sustainable tourist places, the tourism sector is focusing on proper selling factors, physical improvements to attractions and accessibility, and proximity to other tourist sites. Overall, the current study reveals that a comprehensive Destination Management action plan can help accelerate India's green tourism transition. This study aims to understand some of the marketing strategies employed by Indian Tourism Industry on environmentally sustainable vacation spots. The Indian travel industry is impacted by sustainable tourism, one of the topics discussed in this article. This study is descriptive and relies only on books and periodicals covering a wide range of topics that are relevant to sustainable tourism destinations in India. Moreover, the present study also highlights, the importance of online marketing strategies for marketing sustainable Indian travel destinations which is discussed to have a better understanding of the future of the tourism sector in India. The particulars of the study are emerging from the SWOT analysis model for the assessment as well as the scrutinization of the potential of the Indian tourism industry.

Cultural Landscape is a Power of Increasing the Beauty of the Natural Landscape and It is an Attraction to the Traveller for Visits the Tourists Places: A Study in West Bengal Major Tourist Spots Cultural Landscape

The study mainly focused on the cultural landscape’s impact on the tourism spots in West Bengal and it is really effective to attraction power to the travellers. The article mainly represents cultural landscape refers to the modification of the natural landscape by human activities and it is increase the beauty of the tourists spots. we have directly contact to some travellers for collection their satisfactory level and observation their main subject to create an attraction for a specific tourist places and collection the data and more information to use internet websites. We are using FDGs method, online survey, questionnaire survey and GIS software for using secondary data collection. We showing the major tourist spots of West Bengal, such as Darjeeling, Sundarbans, Santiniketan, Dooars, Bishnupur and Purulia. In those places we observed their natural beauty and elements of cultural landscape increase the beauty of environment. And represents to analysis of this think that culture is a key to the development of natural landscape and attraction to the travellers to those places. And this study helps to deployment of these places for visiting large amount travellers.

Comparative Sensitivity Analysis of GA, PSO, and PSO-GA Algorithms for Carbon Environment Development and Sustainability

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;" lang="EN-US">To effectively address the CO<sub>2</sub> emissions in the tourism place, in this study focuses a Sanshan scenic spot for precise prediction. The main factors contributing CO<sub>2</sub> emission as, accommodation, transportation and catering services which intends to improve the need of carbon emission forecasting methods. To address this issue, we proposed an innovatively integrating the optimization algorithms Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization for accurately predicting the CO<sub>2</sub> emissions. Initially, this system taken input from the CO2 emissions occurred from the year of 2010 to 2020. The optimization model contains the input variables, initializing populations, evaluating fitness values, and iterating until convergence to found best prediction model. The experimental results of the proposed PSO-GA system attains 9.86 highest sensitivity showcases best performance in predicting CO<sub>2 </sub>emissions, as evidenced by its superior Adjusted Rand Index value of 1 after 160 iterations. The predicted and measured values of CO<sub>2</sub> emissions using this algorithm remains significant and advanced carbon environment development at scenic spots. The PSO-GA was used to calculate the carbon emissions of three mountainous scenic spots over the next five years, and the medium and high carbon levels should change to a medium carbon development stage by 2024.</span></p>

Ghaslah: Car wash application

It is known in Oman and many countries that technological devices and artificial intelligence have become a part of daily life. People use them to complete daily tasks and communicate among themselves, as well as facilitating some tasks that require time and effort. Therefore, there are many phone applications that have been developed to serve people, and they were created and developed by Omanis. These applications facilitate the promotion of the tourism, economic, and commercial sectors. Some of them support tourism by showing tourist places and introducing them to tourists, and some show important events in the Sultanate. Which tourists love to go to and supports the economy through the financial returns that result from this trade through these applications. In this project, we proposed creating a mobile application titled Ghaslah. It is an application concerned with car washes. It supports the customer and the owners of car wash companies. It enables the customer to choose the appropriate car wash company and choose the best services that the customer needs. It also supports segments of society, including women, the elderly, and people with special needs in particular. It supports car wash companies by displaying the services provided by the companies at the lowest costs in terms of advertising and other things, enabling companies to provide their services such as reservations and home services. This application will enhance the economic aspect in Oman and the owners of car wash companies and satisfy the customers with services that suit their needs.

The relationship between technology and place in tourism

ABSTRACT Tourism digitalization is often understood and implemented in a technocratic sense and implicitly viewed as a solution to perceived shortages in tourism development. Despite this, little attention has been given to the fact that digital technology has spatial and social implications and is strongly intertwined with tourism places and various actors. We address this intending to identify the dominant disciplinary and contemporary research approaches to tourism digitalization through a systematic review of 2 480 publications from the Scopus database. With inspiration from geomedia studies, an explorative thematic analysis found a separation that poses a risk of technology development being detached from its actual context, suggesting that tourism scholars and practitioners would benefit from broadening their readings and critically addressing the interconnection between technology and tourism places.

A Development of English for Tourism Book Based on Tourism Places in Dompu to Improve Students’ Speaking Skills

The aim of this research is to develop a valid, practical, and effective book of English for Tourism based on tourism places in Dompu. This study is a R&D (Research and Development) approach using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The book that had been developed was implemented in the English learning process at the class XI of Tourism Vocational High School Dompu, Department of Travel and Tourism Business with a total of 27 students, in academic year 2024. The validity test results of the developed book obtained from media expert is 88% (very valid) and 92% (very valid) from material expert. Moreover, the practicality test result from students and teacher was at the level “practical” with average score 3,8 or 76%. Lastly, based on students’ speaking test result, the average total score obtained by 27 students is 77. On other word, 100% students or all 27 students obtained average scores more than or equal to 70. It means all students have successfully done the task with good scores. Based on that, the use of English for tourism book based on tourism places in Dompu is effective to improve students’ speaking skill. Another remarkable finding in this reseach is that both teacher and students strongly agree that the material in book is able to stimulate students to be active in the learning process.

Integrating second home owners into conservative rural communities in a developing country

The integration of second home owners into rural communities poses a complex challenge that remains little addressed in conservative developing countries’ context. Guided by integration theory, this qualitative study explores the integration of second home owners in Iran. The findings demonstrate that second home owners’ integration processes are manifested in three distinct forms: environmental-physical, socio-cultural, and mental-psychological. These types of integration significantly influence the dynamics of tourism development and community cohesion in the studied rural communities. Overall, this research contributes to integration theory by exploring second home owner adaption to rural environmental, sociocultural norms and deepens understanding of the social implications of second home ownership within conservative rural communities. The study also expands knowledge of place attachment and identity formation by investigating how the presence of second home owners influences the identity and sense of place for both tourists and local residents. By recognizing the complex nature of integration, the findings offer practical implications for improving the integrating second home owners into rural destinations.

Should we value rain harvesting more in Türkiye for mitigating precipitation extremes

Mitigating precipitation extremes is a major issue due to destructive global warming and climate change. Heavy rainfall and drought have posed a threat to human life and ecology. That said, new strategies and new action plans are needed at local and global levels through needed cooperation from different stakeholders to handle the possible risks associated with precipitation extremes. Turkey has become one of the most vulnerable countries involved in climate change due to its geographical location, rapid urbanization, and deforestation. Many forests have been destroyed to make room for agriculture, animal grazing as well as for manufacturing and construction. The impact has caused complications in landscapes. Precipitation extremes, such as heavy rainfalls and drought, are posing significant threats for many cities in Turkey. In recent years Turkey has faced a large number of extreme events regarding precipitation. In this line, the present study aims to explore the potential benefits of rainwater harvesting (RHH) in mitigating precipitation extremes by overviewing regulatory actions of rainwater harvesting and best practices worldwide. In addition an interview-based survey was conducted with domain experts in the water management field to better understand the current challenges of stormwater management in Turkey and discuss the role of rainwater harvesting against precipitation extremes. The results of the study have shown that Turkey has several problems with infrastructure to mitigate precipitation extremes, such as shortcomings in capacity and old water management systems, unseparated water collection and sewage systems, and lack of green infrastructure. In addition to urbanization, expansion in industry and tourism may cause water unavailability. The study has also indicated that many authorities around the globe try to boost RWH use by stipulating or encouraging RWH through incentives to save a large amount of water by implementing different projects. This research has argued that RWH promises several benefits thanks to its cost-effectiveness and contribution to water storage. Therefore, this study has recommended that policymakers should take immediate action against precipitation extremes by introducing new regulations, such as mandating rainwater harvesting for old buildings, industrial and touristic places. Preparing new guidelines and applying rooftop RWH systems that comply with Building Code requirements should also be considered for the widespread use of rainwater in rural and urban areas.

Intelligent System for Tourist Guidance in Tumbes-Perú

An Intelligent System (IS) for Tourist Guidance was developed for the city of Tumbes, Peru. Considering the preferences of the tourist, the IS obtains the optimal route for the visit and provides a visit plan with schedules and times of stay in each place. It is an innovative hybrid system since it is complemented by two artificial intelligence techniques, a rule-based expert system and a genetic algorithm. The methodology for the implementation of the IS consisted of the collection of tourist, geographic, georeferenced information and photographs of 28 tourist places, grouped into Beaches, Nature, Adventure, Culture and Medicinal Sites, then the logical rules, the distance matrix and time of stay in each place were developed, and finally with the vehicle routing technique the genetic algorithm is implemented that allows obtaining the optimal route. The results indicate that the GA provides optimal solutions with an execution time of 5.6 seconds and zero errors. This contribution is very important for future work on tourist profiles and new tourist routes, since the intelligent system can be adapted for use in other cities.

WEB-BASED TOURISM INFORMATION SYSTEM IN BUNGUS TELUK KABUNG SUB-DISTRICT OFFICE

This system design aims to develop a web-based tourism information system for Bungus Teluk Kabung sub-district office and create applications that can be implemented in this sub-district office. This system research method is built on a website platform and runs online. The research method uses the system development life cycle (SDLC) with the waterfall model approach, which consists of 5 phases, namely: a) Analysis b) Design c) Implementation d) Maintenance e) Planning. The programming language used is (PHP), and the database application uses a data processor (MySql) as the database (RDBMS). The system design tools use Unified Modeling Language (UML) method with 4 (four) diagrams according to the design requirements, namely use case diagrams, activity diagrams, class diagrams and sequence diagrams. The tourism information application in the sub-district office of Bungus Teluk Kabung facilitates visitors to find information and tourist places in the study area. This system was tested and validated using the software testing method, using black box testing. This system can overcome the problems that exist in the area of Bungus Teluk Kabung sub-district.

The Implementation of Tourism Policies in Sikka Regency: Tracing the Role of Local Government in Maintaining Tourism Places

The tourism sector plays a significant source of foreign exchange profits and promotes national economic growth, particularly in terms of lowering unemployment and boosting a country's productivity. However, a tourism destination located in a village frequently produces conflicts of interest between stakeholders and tourism service providers in the community. Thus, this research is intended to find out what are the government policies towards the sustainability of the tourism sector in Sikka Regency. In addition, this research aims to investigate the impacts of Tourism policies conducted by Sikka Regency Government. This research uses qualitative research design by employing interviews and documentation to gain the comprehensive data. The results of this study indicate that there are several programs conducted by the Tourism and Culture office in Sikka Regency. The programs are increasing attractiveness of tourist destinations program, tourism marketing program, and tourism and creative economy resource development program. In implementing the programs, several activities carried out starting from maximising socialisation, implementing several programs by involving all stakeholders to work together in optimising tourist destinations. In addition, the Tourism and Culture office also provides tourism personnel with education and training related to the program. Furthermore, the Tourism and Culture office establishes rules for each tourist destination to record and report the Regional Original Revenue. The implementation of tourism policies in Sikka Regency has been effective. It can be seen from the increase of Regional Original Revenue 2021-2024, especially in the tourism sector. Several suggestions are that the Tourism and Culture office need to improve infrastructure and collaborate with other tourist attraction managers to build links.

Talking Tourist Places, as the Innovative Platform in Tourism (Marneuli Municipality)

The project EU4Business-Connecting Companies, managed by Euro-chambers and funded under the EU4Business initiative of the European Union, launched in 2009 to deepen and strengthen relations between the European Union (EU), its Member States, and its six Eastern neighbors (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine) (EU4Business, n.d.) The project involved collaborating with two organizations: "Travel Agency Saba" in Tbilisi, Georgia, and "Movimento Life Beyond Tourism-Travel to Dialogue Srl Soc. Ben" in Florence, Italy. The primary goal of this collaboration was to promote cross-border cooperation and create a platform for joint activities and projects aimed at promoting tourism products at both local and international levels. One specific initiative mentioned was the implementation of the "Talking Places" program in specific Georgian heritage sites. The project also involved establishing agreements with local administrations to support these initiatives. The research project titled "Marneuli Municipality Talking Tourist Places as a Tool for Green Economy of the Community" was oriented on the Kvemo Kartli region (Marneuli Municipality). The project included various research activities, such as conducting a needs assessment in the tourism sector. The ultimate aim was to encourage the local community to follow Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), create an eco-friendly environment, use a storytelling platform to promote local culture, and contribute to the international attractiveness of the region. Financial support for this initiative was guided by HEKS-EPER Georgia and the European Union. The project aimed to increase the average stay of visitors, enhance the visibility of less-known destinations, and promote cultural mindfulness and typical local products. Overall, it appeared to be a comprehensive effort to foster sustainable tourism development and economic growth in the target region.

Destination image and revisit intentions: a mediation-moderation study through tourist satisfaction and place attachment

Purpose The purpose of this study is to test the relationship of cognitive destination image and affective destination image with tourist satisfaction and revisit intention. This study also tested the mediation effect of tourist satisfaction between cognitive destination image and affective destination image with revisit intention. Furthermore, place attachment is aimed to test as a moderator between tourist satisfaction and revisit intention. Design/methodology/approach Participants in this study are international visitors who were visiting different tourist places in Pakistan. A total of 340 tourists participated in the data collection process, and subsequent data analysis was performed using SPSS and smart-PLS. Findings The results confirmed a significant effect of affective destination image on revisit intention, whilst’ cognitive destination image does not signify a significant influence on revisit intention for international tourists; however, tourist satisfaction confirmed the mediation effect between cognitive-affective destination image and revisit intention. Furthermore, the place attachment confirmed significant moderation with revisit intention. Originality/value This study provides valuable insights into the context of tourist revisit intention in Pakistan. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the model tested in this study (affective destination image and cognitive destination image > tourists’ satisfaction > place attachment > revisit intention) is developed for the first time and is the first of its kind to test the moderation effect of place attachment with revisit intention. This study is supported by the Oliver expectancy disconfirmation theory and the Bowlby theory, which is another novelty of this study.

Proposed green marketing strategy to collaborate with tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis): Case study at Sein Farm, Bandung

Purpose: The results of this research are to propose a Development Strategy using the Green Marketing Model to create an environmentally friendly strategy that can make Sein Farm a place for Sustainable Tourism and collaborate with Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Group) Cisurupan Bandung. Research Methodology: This study used qualitative research methods. The qualitative with thematic analysis and semi-structured interviews with respondent and un-structured forum group discussions (FGD) with Pokdarwis to analize this research analysis with STP, Pestle, SWOT & TWOS, Hexa Helix and Sustainable Tourism Indicators. Results: With Thematic Analysis Several findings of green marketing indicators were found (eco-friendly product, price with tour package Rp 20.000-50.000, green place with natural resources, promotion with collaborate attraction, people with verified and certificated, adding attraction with green process with plan tree, waste sorting, and physical evidence with farmers architecture building). STP Analysis is Student with Kindergarten, Targeting is Urban and School with interest about Urban Farming Education, Positioning is Added Atraction with Collaboration with Pokdarwis to achieve Sustainable tourism ( Watching Art & Culture and Waste Management & Game Traditional ) and Empowerement Community with Collaborate to produce Eco-Souvenir and UMKM.

English and local languages in linguistic structuration of the public space in Islamabad and the neighbouring town

ABSTRACT Research studies in the linguistic landscape (LL) in Pakistan seem to have been getting a foothold and topics like the survey of commercial public signs, the glocalisation of English in public signs, traffic signboards on highways, the cinematic-built environment, bilingual advertisements and LL in a tourist place of natural beauty have emerged recently in the LL field. In this study, three commercial locations from Islamabad city and one location from a neighbouring town were selected for data collection in the form of photo clips. The data were analysed by following the model introduced by Ben-Rafael [2009. A sociological approach to the study of linguistic landscapes. In E. G. Shohamy & D. Gorter (Eds.), Linguistic landscape: Expanding the scenery (pp. 40–54). Routledge] that is a sociological framework formed by four structuration principles which are the presentation of self, good reasons, collective identity and power relations. The data were compared to show the attitude of the surrounding population about English and local languages. Moreover, 12 shop owners, three from each location, were interviewed to know their motives behind the language selection on their signboards. The findings revealed that English dominated on signs in the city's commercial locations while Urdu or transliteration overwhelmed the signboards in the neighbouring town. Future studies should explore customers' points of view as well with regard to signboard language.

Enhancing Place Emotion Analysis with Multi-View Emotion Recognition from Geo-Tagged Photos: A Global Tourist Attraction Perspective

User−generated geo−tagged photos (UGPs) have emerged as a valuable tool for analyzing large−scale tourist place emotions with unprecedented detail. This process involves extracting and analyzing human emotions associated with specific locations. However, previous studies have been limited to analyzing individual faces in the UGPs. This approach falls short of representing the contextual scene characteristics, such as environmental elements and overall scene context, which may contain implicit emotional knowledge. To address this issue, we propose an innovative computational framework for global tourist place emotion analysis leveraging UGPs. Specifically, we first introduce a Multi−view Graph Fusion Network (M−GFN) to effectively recognize multi−view emotions from UGPs, considering crowd emotions and scene implicit sentiment. After that, we designed an attraction−specific emotion index (AEI) to quantitatively measure place emotions based on the identified multi−view emotions at various tourist attractions with place types. Complementing the AEI, we employ the emotion intensity index (EII) and Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC) to deepen the exploration of the association between attraction types and place emotions. The synergy of AEI, EII, and PCC allows comprehensive attraction−specific place emotion extraction, enhancing the overall quality of tourist place emotion analysis. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our framework enhances existing place emotion analysis methods, and the M−GFN outperforms state−of−the−art emotion recognition methods. Our framework can be adapted for various geo−emotion analysis tasks, like recognizing and regulating workplace emotions, underscoring the intrinsic link between emotions and geographic contexts.

Factors’ influence of E-WOM on travel intentions of tourists: A study on tourist places located in Bangladesh

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effects of electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) on tourists’ travel intentions. Research Methodology: The researchers collected 302 data points using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire. For this study, a descriptive research technique or methodology was used based on quantitative data. The sampling method was a non-probabilistic convenience sampling method. The SPSS 26.0 version was used for descriptive statistics analysis, reliability testing, and regression analysis. Results: Four independent variables out of five (positive online reviews, negative online reviews, source credibility, and e-WOM quality) had a favorable impact on travelers' plans to travel. Only one variable (e-WOM quality) had no favorable results. Limitations: The study's use of a non-probability convenience sampling strategy was constrained to a certain limited geographic area. There were also issues related to time and money in this investigation. Contribution: This research will help travel organizations understand and acknowledge e-WOM and its significance, as well as develop strategies to manage its effects. In addition, it will help tourists select their tour destinations. Novelty: This study addresses the impact of e-WOM on tourist decision making and explains the complex factors that affect tourists’ decisions to visit a tourist place.
