Abstract Densities, speeds of sound and surface tensions were measured for the ternary mixtures of propyl propanoate + n-heptane + n-octane at atmospheric pressure and at different temperatures (T = 288.15 - 308.15 K) using mechanical oscillation densimetry and falling drop tensiometry. From experimental data, excess molar volume, speed of sound deviation and surface tension deviation were calculated and satisfactorily fitted by the equation of Cibulka. Additionally, the derived properties were predicted with the geometric solution models proposed by Kohler, Jacob and Fiztner and Radojkovic et al.
