The article is devoted to the reconstruction of the nominative field of the concept PSYCHOTRAUMA in the English-language scientific discourse with the aim of providing a detailed description of its internal structure, semantic organization, and principles of terminological representation. The purpose of the study is to identify the lexical units that verbalize the phenomenon of psychotrauma in the academic domain and to model their hierarchy in accordance with the nucleus-periphery structure, which makes it possible to reveal the systemic regularities of conceptualizing this multidimensional phenomenon. The methodological framework includes structural-semantic, contextual-interpretative, componential, and comparative methods implemented within the intra-textual and trans-textual levels of the DIMEAN model, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the analysis of the terminological material. The empirical basis consists of a corpus of 868 nominative units selected through continuous analysis of the full text of the scientific article Road to resilience: From traumatic experiences to psychopathologies (2022), which reflects current tendencies in psychotraumatology and contains a substantial amount of relevant terminology. As a result of the material analysis, 21 lexico-semantic groups were identified and integrated into six macrogroups representing key directions in the conceptualization of psychotrauma: etiological and contextual factors, psychopathological consequences, mechanisms of resilience, diagnostic approaches, therapeutic interventions, and sociocultural determinants. The internal structure of the nominative field demonstrates a clear differentiation between the nucleus, the near periphery, and the far periphery: the nucleus comprises definitional and conceptually stable terms; the near periphery specifies structural and clinical characteristics of trauma; whereas the far periphery encompasses interpretative and contextually marked nominations reflecting interdisciplinary perspectives on the phenomenon.

The present study is an attempt to analyze Qassim University EFL learners’ linguistic-pragmatic competence of “politeness strategies”. It explores how EFL learners use “politeness strategies” in lengthy written responses on a variety of topics selected by them. This study uses Brown and Levinson’s (1987) Politeness Theory as the primary framework. A comparative analysis of texts authored by twenty four female students in an EFL setting at Qassim University, Saudi Arabia was employed to accomplish the study's objective. To analyze “politeness strategies”, a qualitative content analysis was used. The findings show that while verbal agreement and shows of solidarity are common positive politeness (49%) methods used by students, on-record (10%), off-record (6%), negative politeness (13%), and baldly without redress action (22%) strategies are less common. Underdeveloped sensitivity to formality and moderation is the outcome of pragmatic transfer from Arabic norms, as seen by frequent directness and repetition. The results emphasize the necessity of providing clear education in pragmatic awareness, especially with relation to tone, mitigation, and audience consideration in academic writing. The study argues for more explicit training in pragmatic awareness in university-level curriculum and indicates that pragmatic competence is a crucial but underdeveloped component of EFL writing. Finally, the study concluded with helpful recommendations for further research and pedagogical implications that highlight how these “politeness strategies” might assist students in transitioning from literal accuracy to writing that is pragmatically appropriate.

In songs, whether they are from popular or traditional genres, there is often a gender stereotype that reduces women's identities to physical attributes and domestic roles. "Mojang Priangan", as an expression of local culture from the Sundanese region, is a relevant subject of study in understanding how women are represented in songs. This study aims to examine the representation of Sundanese women in the lyrics of "Mojang Priangan" songs through a critical feminist approach. The music, composed by Iyar Wiyarsih, was selected for its high historical and cultural significance in representing the identity of Sundanese women. A descriptive, qualitative method was employed in this study, utilizing Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis model, which encompasses text analysis, discursive practices, and social practices. The primary instrument in this study was the researcher herself, who actively interpreted the data contextually and reflectively. Data were collected through literature review and documentation of song lyrics and relevant scientific references. The results of this study show that the lyrics of "Mojang Priangan" songs describe women who have physical and personality advantages as the feminine image of Sundanese culture. In Sundanese society, Sundanese women are always positioned in the role of guardians of values, symbols of family honor, and representatives of morality. Although the lyrics have undergone several changes, the main values are still maintained. The lyrics do not exploit women as sensual visual objects. However, they show their values and roles in maintaining dignity in a social context.

The February 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine disrupted Northern and Eastern European security politics. This study examines how five major far-right parties in the Baltic Sea region revised their 2022–24 election manifestos—relative to their 2018–20 platforms—to incorporate explicit defence provisions and alliance commitments. The paper employs paired document analysis using comparative text analysis. Results indicate that, while these parties-maintained core nationalist and sovereign positions, they introduced substantive deterrence measures and formalized international partnerships. The extent of programmatic change correlated with each party’s national threat exposure and coalition prospects: parties in more vulnerable states or with stronger coalition opportunities exhibited greater manifesto convergence toward alliance-based security frameworks. These findings demonstrate genuine crisis-induced policy adaptation rather than mere rhetorical shifts. By integrating quantitative text-analysis with codified policy indices, the study offers a transparent, reproducible framework for tracking political party program change under acute external threats. This framework advances crisis-induced party adaptation theory and provides a methodological template for future research on party responses to disruptive geopolitical events.

Purpose This study highlights the crucial importance of effectively managing intangible resources, particularly green intellectual capital (GIC), in enhancing environmental, social and governance (ESG) information disclosure. GIC holds the potential to foster innovation, transparency, and stakeholder trust. Its actual impact is often constrained by challenges such as regulatory gaps, greenwashing and limited stakeholder enforcement, especially in emerging economies such as China. Drawing on stakeholder, resource-based and knowledge-based theories, this study examines how GIC and its three dimensions influence ESG disclosure practices and contribute to a competitive advantage. Furthermore, it examines the moderating role of family ownership in influencing the strength of the GIC-ESG relationship. Design/methodology/approach This study uses textual analysis to construct the GIC and its components for Chinese A-listed firms. The data is sourced from the Bloomberg and China Stock Market and Accounting Research databases. The sample includes annual data of Chinese A-listed firms from 2010 to 2023, following the 2008 financial crisis. Analyzing 40,357 observations, the fixed-effects regression model is used to obtain baseline results. A series of tests is employed to check robustness and endogeneity issues. Python and Stata software were used for analysis. Findings The findings reveal that GIC and its components positively impact ESG disclosure. Additionally, family ownership strengthens the effects of GIC dimensions on the ESG disclosure. The results are robust to robustness analyses, propensity score matching, instrumental variable analysis and the generalized method of moments. Practical implications The findings highlight the importance of GIC in enhancing ESG disclosures and providing firms with strategies to improve stakeholder engagement and competitive advantage. Social implications This research underscores the need for policies incorporating GIC into ESG frameworks, promoting sustainable practices, fostering transparency, enhancing long-term quality of life and contributing to societal welfare. Originality/value This study contributes to the development of the measure of GIC for Chinese A-listed firms through a novel approach of textual analysis. It is the first study to analyze the impact of GIC on ESG disclosure, including the moderating role of family ownership.

Contemporary research in family studies increasingly highlights the importance of spousal character as a core determinant of marital satisfaction, relational stability, and long-term family well-being. Despite this growing recognition, scholarly engagement with the theoretical foundations of character formation in marriage remains limited, particularly in Muslim contexts where ethical frameworks are deeply rooted in religious tradition. Existing discussions often treat Islamic and Western perspectives as separate domains, leaving a conceptual gap in understanding how these traditions might complement each other in shaping moral behaviour within marital life. Addressing this gap, the present article examines the concept of spousal character formation through an integrative analysis of Islamic ethical thought and Western developmental theory, grounded exclusively in a qualitative document analysis of classical and contemporary texts. Relevant sources were selected through works in Islamic ethics and foundational literature in developmental psychology, followed by systematic content analysis to identify recurring concepts, thematic patterns, and conceptual divergences. The findings demonstrate that both traditions provide complementary insights into the moral dispositions that shape marital interaction, relational stability, and family well-being. Building on these insights, the proposed Integrated Character Formation Framework synthesises classical Islamic ethical principles with contemporary psychological theory, offering a holistic model for understanding how spouses develop the virtues, competencies, and relational behaviours essential for marital harmony. This interdisciplinary and textually grounded approach contributes to social science discourse by broadening theoretical conceptions of character formation and offering a culturally relevant foundation for future empirical and theoretical research on marital and family dynamics.

The Buddhist doctrine of cittaviveka is one of three forms of viveka – bodily solitude (kāyaviveka), mental solitude (cittaviveka) and seclusion from the substrates of existence or attainment of nibbāna (upadhiviveka) – and is found in Theravada texts, in particular, the notion of mental detachment (cittaviveka) is explicitly described in the Mahā-niddesa. Among these, cittaviveka is an essential attribute of Buddhist spiritual path represented a stage of inner detachment, in which the mind becomes secluded from obstacles and defilements. Despite previous scholars offered the Buddhist concept of cittaviveka from Buddhist perspective, the Mahā-niddesa and the Paṭisambhidāmagga viewpoints have received less attention on it. It still remains challenging to clarify about specific levels of mental detachment. For instance, the Atthasālinī (the commentary of Dhammasaṅgaṇi) and the Visuddhimagga cannot provide the satisfied answer to what levels of mental detachment are achieved through it without help of the Mahā-niddesa and the Paṭisambhidāmagga. The research problem should be based on the following questions: What does cittaviveka truly signify in early Buddhist teachings, and what levels of mental detachment are achieved through it? Therefore, the aim of this paper is to give the reader a clearer answer and more critical analysis of cittaviveka, looking at different levels of mental detachment with special reference to the Mahā-niddesa and the Paṭisambhidāmagga. The analysis revealed three main spiritual transformative processes: solitude through displacement (tadaṅgaviveka), the temporary suppression of obstacles, the state of absorptions or jhānas (vikkhambhanaviveka) and permanent uprooting of defilements (samucchedaviveka). The method adopted is a textual analysis of Theravāda Pāli sources, including commentarial literatures and related works done by scholars were also incorporated to grasp the actual meaning of the selected term as clearly as possible.

Over the past decade, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of scientific, technical, and medical publications dedicated to the automatic detection of cognitive impairments in humans based on speech and visual data. These impairments are often associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other disorders. Despite the high prevalence of these conditions and their significant contribution to mortality and early disability, effective treatment options remain unavailable or severely limited in current medical practice. Consequently, early diagnosis and symptom alleviation have become areas of considerable research interest. Current studies focus on the development of automated and automatic systems based on quantitative and objective methods, neural network approaches, the integration of various modalities, and explainable artificial intelligence techniques. This paper presents a comprehensive review and analysis of key studies published since 2022 that address the automatic detection of cognitive impairments using unimodal and multimodal approaches. The review includes the most commonly used multimodal datasets in this domain, such as ADReSS, ADReSSo, and TAUKADIAL. It discusses state-of-the-art methods for detecting cognitive impairments from various modalities, including those presented in international competitions such as TAUKADIAL-2024, as well as methods developed outside of such events. According to competition results, the most effective approaches to recognizing cognitive impairments are ensemble probabilistic models trained on explainable hand-crafted features and neural features extracted from text and audio data. The review also explores multimodal approaches that incorporate visual modalities for training deep neural networks. A new direction in the field is examined, namely, the applicability of large language models to the analysis of medical texts and interpretable disease prediction. The paper systematizes methods for extracting informative features and the classifiers employed. Based on the review, key requirements for systems aimed at the automated detection of cognitive impairments are formulated.

This study aimed to explore the perspectives of Australian medical students on medical and surgical specialty training program selection criteria and examine their influence on career intentions. A cross-sectional online survey of Australian medical students assessed perspectives on the criteria utilised to select applicants into Australian specialty training programs for 2025. Likert-scale and free-text responses were collected. Quantitative analysis used the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and free text responses underwent automated textual analysis using natural language processing techniques to classify sentiment and extract recurring themes and concerns. Student interest in pursuing multiple specialties decreased significantly after exposure to their current selection criteria, particularly in ophthalmology, intensive care, neurology, and obstetrics and gynaecology. Automated textual analysis revealed a clear negative sentiment across most surgical specialties. Respondents' main concerns of selection criteria related to research requirements, competitiveness, time commitment, requirement of academic achievement despite a lack of awards in medical school, burnout, and affect on family planning. Understanding the perspectives of medical students on specialty training selection processes may help inform strategies to improve equity and address workforce imbalances. Student suggestions to improve specialty training selection processes included earlier education on specialty pathways, clearer guidance to build a competitive curriculum vitae, and more equitable access to research, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Future research may consider investigating the perspectives of prevocational medical graduates and medical students across multiple Australian institutions.

This study investigates Hamka’s reformist epistemology by examining the modernist genealogies and hermeneutical strategies that shaped his intellectual project in the Malay Indonesian world. While previous scholarship has highlighted Hamka as a literary figure, nationalist thinker, or religious leader, limited attention has been given to the systematic ways in which he internalized, adapted, and transformed the rational modernism of Muhammad Abduh into a distinct framework of Islamic renewal. Addressing this gap, the study aims to identify the intellectual transmission of Abduh’s ideas into Hamka’s corpus, analyze the interpretive principles embedded in Tafsir al Azhar and related writings, and explain how these principles contributed to the emergence of a localized yet cosmopolitan modernist discourse. Methodologically, the research employs qualitative textual analysis, intellectual genealogy, and historical contextualization using primary sources from Hamka’s tafsir, essays, speeches, and archival materials, complemented by secondary analyses of Southeast Asian reform movements. The findings reveal that Hamka developed a reformist epistemology grounded in rational inquiry, ethical intentionality, and the rejection of uncritical conformity, while simultaneously constructing a vernacularized model of Islamic modernity attuned to Malay Indonesian socio cultural realities. This synthesis produced a transformative religious discourse that reshaped educational, doctrinal, and public life across the region. The study contributes theoretically by repositioning Hamka within the global trajectory of Islamic modernism and demonstrating how peripheral intellectual spaces generate original models of reform. Its implications extend to contemporary debates on Islamic hermeneutics, religious authority, and the ongoing negotiation of modernity in Muslim Southeast Asia.

This research analyzes the concept of "fragmented self" in Laurie Halse Anderson's novel Wintergirls, focusing on Lia Overbrook's struggles with anorexia nervosa and bulimia. This issue significantly reflects contemporary mental health challenges exacerbated by social pressures and internal conflicts. The concept of the fragmented self here refers to the disunity or incoherence encompassing an individual's identity, thoughts, and emotions, often manifesting through dissociative conditions, eating disorders, self-harming behaviors, or severe anxiety. The objective of this research is to conduct an in-depth psychological analysis to uncover Lia's self-fragmentation, identify its underlying causes, and understand the psychological consequences she experiences. In this analysis, the researcher utilizes the Freudian psychoanalytic theoretical framework, specifically the concepts of Id, Ego, and Superego. Through applying a descriptive qualitative method by careful textual analysis and literature review, the researcher found that anorexia nervosa is the root of Lia's problems, triggering severe internal conflicts, and this is also reflected in the fragmented writing style of the novel. This research is expected not only to enrich the understanding of psychological concepts within literary contexts but also to raise awareness and empathy towards adolescent mental health issues. Through highlighting Lia's journey, the researcher aims to explain the widespread issue of fragmented identity in contemporary society, providing insights into the psychological basis of such struggles and advocating for greater understanding and support for those facing similar challenges.

Title: Ayurvedic Principles of Ahara Vidhi Vidhan: A Comparative Analysis with Modern Dietary Practices. Background: In Ayurveda, Ahara (food) is recognized as one of the Trayopastambha (three pillars of life), essential for sustaining life, maintaining health, and preventing disease. Among these pillars, food is regarded as the foremost contributor to physical and mental well-being. Objective: To explore the Ayurvedic guidelines on Ahara Vidhi Vidhana (dietary conduct) compare them with modern dietary practices and analyze their respective implications for health and the development of lifestyle disorders. Methods: This study involves a textual analysis of classical Ayurvedic literature, primarily the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita, to extract core principles of Ahara Vidhi Vidhan. These principles are then critically compared with current dietary trends and nutritional recommendations in modern medicine and public health. Results: Ayurvedic texts provide comprehensive dietary rules that emphasize the quality, quantity, timing and mental state during food consumption. In contrast, modern diets focus on macronutrients, calories and convenience, often overlooking individualized and mindful approaches. The deviation from Ayurvedic principles in current dietary behavior correlates with an increase in lifestyle-related disorders such as obesity, diabetes and gastrointestinal issues. Conclusion: The Ayurvedic concept of Ahara Vidhi Vidhana offers a holistic and preventive framework for diet and lifestyle management. Integrating these time-tested principles with modern nutritional science may contribute to better health outcomes and a reduction in chronic disease prevalence.

Poverty is a global problem. It affects the human person differently of which Idah LGA, Kogi State is not left out. Idah Local Government houses the ancient town of the Igala people. It is probably the oldest town and cultural centre of the Igala land. Despite the abundant opportunities for wealth creation, the local government is still facing an increased poverty rate. This poverty rate is apparent with the increased number of beggars in the town and poor educational, health, and modern water facilities in the area. This has led beggars’ population to soar in a town where the majority of the population is of Islam. These beggars are seen around Mosques, market squares, busy road junctions and hospitals. Despite the fact that Idah is blessed with arable lands for agriculture, the River Niger and Benue banks etcetera, which could help in alleviating the people’s suffering through trading and merchandising, the reverse is the case as poverty remains a fact in the area. This paper analyses the effort of Islam in reducing poverty in Idah, and adopted mainly an analysis of relevant texts of the Quran as its method of data collection. Observation supplements the analysis of these texts as a form of data collection for the study. Findings of the study show that Islamic insistence on exemplary leadership, teaching that the rich should assist the poor, prayer and the practice of zakat and the establishment of waqf(endowment) will go a long way in addressing poverty in the area.

This paper proposes a new theoretical framework for analyzing the role of gendered sensorium mise-en-scène in the context of the Anthropocene. Through theoretical inquiry and textual analysis, this study explores the shift from anthropocentrism to feminist ecocentrism in film, examining how this gendered approach enhances storytelling and frames the relationship between spectatorship, cinema, and environmental justice. Specifically, it investigates how The Scent of Green Papaya (1993) integrates sensorium storytelling with ecofeminism. The film intertwines the framing of bodies, from micro to macro, from individual female protagonists to socio-political issues at the backdrop, centered around feminine voices who engage with their non-human environments through a heightened sensory experience beyond the audio-visual. By examining the aesthetic stylistics of ecofeminist sensorium mise-en-scène, this paper aims to establish a new cinematic framework for ‘staging’ ecological interconnectedness. It questions whether ‘deep ecology’ can be represented as more corporeal through feminine senses in cinematic portrayals.

In the digital economy, data assets have become key drivers of firm competitiveness and market stability. This study examines the association between data asset information disclosure and stock price crash risk. Using annual reports of Chinese A-share listed firms from 2010 to 2023, we construct a Data Asset Information Disclosure Index through textual analysis. A double machine learning framework is employed to flexibly control for high-dimensional confounders, and the results indicate that greater disclosure is associated with lower crash risk across multiple specifications. Generalized random forest analysis further highlights heterogeneous relationships, with disclosures on both internally used and transactional data assets showing stronger negative associations with crash risk. Mechanism evidence suggests that disclosure may facilitate information dissemination, strengthen investor confidence, and improve analyst forecast accuracy. The association is more pronounced in firms with weaker corporate governance, higher reporting transparency, more competitive industries, and in regions with less developed digital economies. An industry spillover pattern is also observed, whereby one firm’s disclosure is linked to reduced crash risk among peers. Overall, this study contributes to the literature on data asset disclosure and corporate risk management by providing empirical evidence from a major emerging market and by highlighting the potential relevance of enhanced transparency for digital governance and capital market resilience.
