Design of Web-Based Inventory Accounting Information System at PT XYZ

PT XYZ is a company engaged in the retail trade of large and small clothing, and it is located in the city of Bandung. As a trading company, PT XYZ needs to utilize information technology in managing warehouse inventory, which is no longer manual management, namely recording in paper media, which will be susceptible to data discrepancies. The web application here is interpreted as an inventory application through a display that includes goods to be stored in the warehouse and product transactions that come in and out. The research method used here is the interview and observation method. Software creation is carried out with a waterfall model consisting of the following stages: system planning analysis, system analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance. In the object of system modeling with visual data flow diagrams and flowcharts. The results of this study produce web-based software using PHP as a programming language with MySQL as a database and visual code for its program editor. Through this system, it is expected to facilitate work and can be used at any time. This inventory application can be a benchmark for managing incoming and outgoing goods. Another benefit is that this web-based application aims to control the stock of goods at any time.

Influential Mechanism Research of Environmental Control on Chinese Textile Export Trade

This study constructs a regression model of textile industry export trade. The panel data of nine importing countries or regions from 2006 to 2022 are used to verify whether environmental control has short-term cost effects and long-term technical effects on Chinese textile industry export trade. First of all, the panel data from 2006 to 2022 are empirically analyzed for the short-term effects. The results show that the cost effect of environmental control makes environmental control inhibit the export of textile industry in the short term. Then, the same panel data is used to empirically analyze the impact of environmental governance input on textile export trade, that is, the long-term effects. The result shows that the technical effect of environmental control is greater than the cost effect in the long run. It means environmental control has a role in promoting the export of textile industry. Finally, combining the influence factors of textile export trade, two suggestions are put forward from the enterprise level. This study constructs a regression model of textile industry export trade. Brassinosteroids in cotton: orchestrating fiber development

SummaryCotton cultivation spans over 30 million hectares across 85 countries and regions, with more than half participating in the global cotton textile trade. The elongated cotton fiber cell is an ideal model for studying cell elongation and understanding plant growth and development. Brassinosteroids (BRs), recognized for their role in cell elongation, offer the potential for improving cotton fiber quality and yield. Despite extensive research highlighting BR's positive impact on fiber development, a comprehensive review on this topic has been lacking. This review addresses this gap, providing a detailed analysis of the latest advancements in BR signaling and its effects on cotton fiber development. We explore the complex network of BR biosynthesis components, signaling molecules, and regulators, including crosstalk with other pathways and transcriptional control mechanisms. Additionally, we propose molecular strategies and highlight key genetic elements for optimizing BR‐related genes to enhance fiber quality and yield. The review emphasizes the importance of BR homeostasis and the hormonal landscape during cotton fiber development, offering insights into targeted manipulation opportunities and challenges. This consolidation offers a comprehensive understanding of BR's multifaceted roles in fiber development, outlining a strategic approach for BR optimization in cotton fiber quality and yield.

Implementation of Minister of Trade Regulation Number 40 of 2022 concerning Prohibition of Trade in Imported Used Clothing in the City of Surakarta

Fulfilling the need for decent clothing, the price and quality differ between used clothes and new clothes, so that business actors provide clothing needs with quality models but at affordable prices, so thrifting businesses emerge where this business sells used clothes. The development of the used clothing trade is clearly visible at the moment, one of the places selling used clothes in Surakarta that is well known to many people is the Tirtonadi Convention Hall. However, there is another side, business actors only prioritize profits, thereby ignoring public health problems. The problem in this research is the implementation of Minister of Trade Regulation Number 40 of 2022 concerning Trade in Imported Used Clothing in the City of Surakarta, whether it has been implemented well or not. This type of research is empirical research. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews at the research location. The results of the research show that the implementation of Minister of Trade Regulation Number 40 of 2022 concerning Trade in Imported Used Clothing in the City of Surakarta has not run optimally due to lack of supervision and law enforcement, lack of education and outreach, economic dependence, availability and quality of local products, inadequate bureaucratic structure. efficient.

The Effect of Entrepreneurial Competence, Market Orientation, Product Quality, and Product Innovation on Competitive Advantage

MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy, contributing significantly to GDP and employment. However, they face the challenge of increasingly fierce competition, especially with market revitalization plans that can increase business competition. This research aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial competence, market orientation, product quality and product innovation on the competitive advantage of MSMEs in the clothing trade sector at Sudimampir Market, Banjarmasin. This research uses a quantitative approach with 95 respondents who are owners/managers of MSMEs in the clothing trade sector at Sudimampir Market. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, and data analysis was carried out using SEM-PLS with SmartPLS 4.1 software. The research results show that market orientation, product quality and product innovation have a positive and significant influence on the competitive advantage of MSMEs. However, entrepreneurial competence does not have a significant influence on competitive advantage. This research highlights the importance of market orientation, product quality and product innovation in building competitive advantages for MSMEs in the clothing trade sector. Although entrepreneurial competencies do not directly influence competitive advantage, developing these competencies is still important for the long-term success of MSMEs.

Установлены изменения в международной специализации стран за последние 30 лет в сфере текстиля и одежды, в положении ведущих экспортеров и импортеров одежды и факторы, на это влияющие. Определено, что международная торговля оказывает значимое влияние на вопросы занятости, оплаты труда, международной миграции и использования труда мигрантов в индустрии моды развитых стран. The relevance of the article is related to the important role of the fashion industry, including the textile and clothing industry, and international trade in textiles and clothing in the global economy. It was revealed that the international division of labor in the fashion industry has changed significantly under the influence of globalization and changes in technology. Changes in the international specialization of countries over the past 30 years in the field of textiles and clothing have been established. Changes in the position of leading exporters and importers of clothing and factors influencing this have been identified. It has been established that international trade has a significant impact on issues of employment, wages, international migration and the use of migrant labor in the fashion industry of developed countries.

Life cycle assessment of alternatives for industrial textile recycling

The $882 billion textile trade in 2021 poses environmental concerns, highlighting the importance of encouraging a circular economy to attain sustainable textiles. Therefore, policies must prioritize textile recycling, particularly in developing countries, and sharing information throughout the value chain. This research aims to explore the potential environmental benefits of two industrial recycling processes for textile residues versus the traditional waste management and production process through a life cycle assessment applying the ReCiPe method at midpoint and endpoint levels focusing on generating significant data availability and broader assessment than existing literature to support decision making related to recycling systems for textile residues. Results related to the textile residues recycling process to obtain stripes (R1) and replace sawdust, to fill pushing balls, show that it would produce environmental benefits regardless of location in several midpoint categories. Furthermore, regarding the endpoint results, the DALY savings are mainly due to avoiding landfill, while the savings in ecosystem impacts are generated by avoiding landfill and sawdust production. Regarding the recycling process to obtain recycled yarn and fill (R2) net savings in global warming potential are generated if landfill avoidance is considered. Nevertheless, endpoint results show that DALYs of all the avoided processes correspond to 1.5 times the impacts of all the R2 recycling processes, mainly due to avoiding virgin yarn production. Therefore, both recycling processes are recommended. However, some strategies are required to generate greater benefits, such as applying the R2 recycling process as the first option for stretchable textile waste, and after being used, going through the R1 recycling process. In addition, the strategic placement of the R1 recycling facility should be distant from areas of sawdust production. A sensitivity analysis was carried out due to the variability of virgin products to replace in the market.

Patching sites, patching data: Patchwork ethnography on fashion in and beyond pandemic times

This article explores the innovative method of patchwork ethnography, which was first introduced by Günel, Varma and Watanabe in 2020, and its applicability to the area of fashion studies. It elaborates on the features, qualities and limitations of the method. The article does so by reflecting on the ethnographic research I conducted for my Ph.D. thesis. In March–August 2019 and January–July 2021, I used a patchwork ethnography approach to participant observation, interviews, digital ethnography and visual analysis to study the trade and retail of Chinese-made garments and textiles in Mozambique. The article puts a special focus on the difficulties and restrictions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, and how these can be offset by the specific characteristics of patchwork ethnography. Apart from discussing the issues relating to my positionality and privilege as an educated white female researcher in a cross-cultural Global South context, it also hopes to further push the ongoing decolonization of fashion studies. It therefore aims to show that the applicability and relevance of patchwork ethnography go beyond periods shaped by pandemic restrictions. More generally, this article emphasizes the necessity and benefit of an interdisciplinary mindset and creative, flexible, multi-method approaches to understand and tackle the great challenges of our time that relate to the production, trade and consumption of fashion products.

Exploring Influential Factors on Customer Satisfaction with Clothing for Overweight and Obese Women: A Focus on Generations Y and Z in Sri Lanka

Purpose: At present, global trade in textiles and clothing is expanding across the world. The increase in the percentage of overweight and obese women creates tendency to focus on the demand for plus-size clothes. Prior studies confirmed that there is a low attention paid to women's plus-size clothing in Sri Lanka when compared to other countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, and England. The main purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting clothing satisfaction of overweight and obese women in Generation Y and Z in Sri Lanka.
 Design: Acknowledging Renoux’s theory of retail satisfaction, the study used three influencing factors; shopping system, buying system, and consuming system. Shopping system considers displaying plus-size mannequins, creating a separate section for plus-size cloth and providing proper and sufficient information. Buying system focuses on new clothing designs, maintaining a reasonable price range, high-quality materials, and adequate the space in the store. Consuming system focuses on body proportion, body image, and the length of time a garment is held after purchase. A self-administered questionnaire is used to gather data from 287 respondents via online survey. This study adopted quantitative analyses. Influencing factors were determined through the multiple regression analysis.
 Findings: Results revealed that the buying system and shopping system have statistically significant influences on overweight and obese women's clothing satisfaction and buying system recorded the highest influence. However, consuming system has an insignificant influence on overweight and obese women's clothing satisfaction.
 Research Implications: Under the shopping system, displaying plus-size mannequin and allocating a separate section for plus-size could stimulate clothing satisfaction of overweight and obese women. Offering a reasonable price range and providing an adequate fit-on-room are the significant factors to be considered in buying system. 
 Future Research Suggestions: Quantitative approach limited the ability to address the problems of overweight and obese women's clothing satisfaction in depth. Shopping mechanism, the ability to do online or offline shopping, store attributes and human attributes should focus on further studies.

Textile Trade of India with RCEP Members: A General Equilibrium Assessment

The study quantified Indian textile trade with selected Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) countries, including Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, and Vietnam, based on their proportional share of the Indian textile trade to analyze the impact of RCEP on the Indian textile trade. The primary objective was to investigate the impact of a 10 per cent reduction in existing Indian tariffs with selected RCEP nations through Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) modelling. The study demonstrated that if India reduced tariffs on textile imports, it would allow a flood of imports from other competitive countries. As per the results, India will only achieve prosperity when selected RCEP nations reduce or eliminate their tariffs. The decision to withdraw from RCEP seems reasonable regarding its textile exports from India.

Traders on the Margins: The Resilience of a Fourth-Century Trading Community in Roman Egypt

The contribution aims to shed light on economic relations between cities and hinterland in the antique world by examining papyrological material from Ismant el-Kharab (ancient Kellis) in Egypt’s Dakhleh Oasis. This material provides evidence for a village community in the Oasis and its trade relations with distant urban areas in the Nile Valley. The study draws on recent research into the ancient textile trade to situate the community’s economic strategies. In turn, it examines how these strategies facilitated trade with cities in Upper Egypt, employing the notion of capabilities drawn from communal resilience theory. In conclusion, it is argued that the Kellis material demonstrates how rural communities could attain a high degree of agency within the late antique economy, although it also highlights vulnerabilities to which they were subjected.

The Wufeng Village is an urban village that located in Haizhu District, Guangzhou city. Urban village is a special product of rapid urbanization since reform and open up of China. It’s the village (collective land) left in the city (state-owned land), wrapped up by the modern city. However, Wufeng Village has a long history and is one of the two largest textile cluster bases in China. Guangzhou Textile Trading Park, Yangtze River International Textile City, Dazhong Fabric Market, Zhongdajiangnan Textile City is located there, is the world’s fabric distribution center. The people there rely on the fabric industry for their livelihood. But in recent years, due to the deterioration of the economic environment, the rise of international competition, the rise of systematic risks in the industrial chain, and the impact of the pandemic, the industry of Wufeng Village needs an opportunity to upgrade and innovate.

AUTOMATION AS AN INNOVATIVE METHOD OF MANAGING A TRADE NETWORK OF CLOTHING STORES

Purpose. The aim of the article is the substantiation of necessity for the implementation of automation as a novel approach to the management of a retail chain of clothing stores. Methodology of research. The systematic approach, general and special research methods were used in the study, in particular: scientific abstraction, deduction and induction – to formulate a scientific hypothesis of work, laws and principles; formal and logical – to make theoretical generalizations, substantiate the research methodology, formulate conclusions; monographic – to study the automation of management of trade enterprises; system-structural – to consider the automation object as an integral set of elements of management of a trade network. Findings. The article describes the concept of automating the management of the trade network of stores. The expected effect of the automation of the management of the trade network of clothing stores was determined. It is considered how the automation of the management of the trade network of clothing stores works in practice. The list of equipment for the effective operation of the trade network of clothing stores is substantiated. The software that should be used to automate retail networks of clothing stores is considered. Originality. The scientific novelty is determined by the relevance of the research topic, since the work systematized and improved knowledge about automation as an innovative method of managing the trade network of clothing stores. Practical value. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of using the provisions of work by specialists in the development of the automation system for the management of the clothing trade network. The programs under consideration can be used to automate retail chains of clothing stores. Key words: management innovation, trade network, clothing store, automation.

THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY TRADE COMPETITIVENESS OF SELECTED EUROPEAN TRANSITION COUNTRIES

The paper analyses the textile industry trade competitiveness of nine European transition economies (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia), in parts and in its entirety, by using the following indicators: Revealed comparative advantage (RCA), Competitiveness growth index (RCA1), Index of net business performance (RCA2), and Michaely index (MI). The analysis focuses on the period between 1995 and 2018. The results of the analysis show that the textile industry of Northern Macedonia is internationally competitive, and that most countries have revealed comparative advantages. The textile industry contributed to the surplus in trade balance in North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania, while North Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia achieved some level of production specialisation. It was also confirmed that these countries had statistically different levels of trade competitiveness. The top level of production finalisation accounted for the greatest average value of competitiveness indicators.

Industrial and textile waste trade: Multilayer network and environmental policy effects

Waste management is an international enterprise, and it is important to understand global flows of recyclable materials. The Pollution Haven Hypothesis (PHH) suggests that waste moves from high income nations with stringent environmental policy to low income nations with less environmentally stringent policy, by exploiting low labor and regulatory costs. This paper assesses the PHH thesis for slag/dross and textiles (SDT) wastes in PHH through novel integration of the multilayer network and gravity models. The multilayer network model generates network effect that quantifies interlayer connections of multiple waste trade networks. Instead of North-South movement of waste, North-North, South-South, and even South-North are shown. Results from the gravity model indicate that stringent waste management policies reduce both waste exports and imports. PHH is not found for slags/dross where high income countries are importing the waste, contradicting PHH. On the other hand, PHH is more evident between highly connected hubs and havens in SDT waste trade networks.

Analysis of the impact of RCEP on the industrial and innovation chains of China's textile and clothing industry.

This research examines the impact of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) on the textile and apparel industry within its member nations. The study seeks to understand the implications of RCEP on trade dynamics, innovation chains, and industrial integration in the textile sector. The study uses both quantitative analysis of trade data and qualitative assessment of policy frameworks to analyze changes in textile trade and patterns among RCEP members through UN Comtrade data. Qualitative analysis is conducted to examine RCEP policies related to intellectual property protection, investment regulations, and innovation cooperation. The findings reveal a significant increase in textile trade volume among RCEP member countries following the agreement's implementation. China emerges as a key player, experiencing substantial growth in textile exports to RCEP nations, particularly driven by tariff reduction initiatives. RCEP provisions stimulate demand for innovation within the textile industry, fostering collaborative efforts in scientific research and development.

“What’s in a Name?” Toponyms and Loanwords in European Textile Cultures

Textiles as man-made products have been exchanged over distances for millennia. They can and have been produced almost anywhere; they are also, as a product, highly differentiated and quickly adjustable to changing demands. This brings with it naming practices to communicate about the goods in question. Textiles are labeled so that people can form expectations about them and rely on the reputation tied to the product’s identity. The terminology of textiles and textile items arises and develops in unison with technical innovations, discoveries, fashions, and trade patterns. Although the occurrence of toponyms e.g., in preindustrial trade (10th to 18th century AD) is widely used to study the development of textile trade, there are no studies that look at textile labeling practices across time and space in Europe’s history. This paper explores textile labels from Antiquity up until now, drawing on the expertise of an interdisciplinary group of scholars. Exploring labeling practices is worthwhile, as it allows us to better understand textiles as a phenomenon that has, across time, always connected regions, markets, and, not least, people. The discussion of naming practices of textiles, and especially the use of geographical indications (toponyms), is by no means only relevant to the study of the past as EU regulations show, namely the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement of 2015, that defines appellation of origin as “any denomination protected in the Contracting Party of Origin consisting of or containing the name of a geographical area, or another denomination known as referring to such area, which serves to designate a good as originating in that geographical area, where the quality or characteristics of the good are due exclusively or essentially to the geographical environment, including natural and human factors, and which has given the good its reputation; as well as any indication protected in the Contracting Party of Origin consisting of or containing the name of a geographical area, or another indication known as referring to such area, which identifies a good as originating in that geographical area, where a given quality, reputation or other characteristic of the good is essentially attributable to its geographical origin.”
