The effect of basic mathematical abilities on learning outcomes of physics education students

Research has been conducted to determine the effect of basic mathematical abilities on learning outcomes of physics education students in the Measurement Method subject. This is done based on the observations of researchers in the learning process of the Measurement Method. There are significant differences in the teaching and learning process. Students with weak basic mathematical abilities tend to be difficult to understand every materials in the subject. The population of this research is fourth semester students of Physics Education academic year 2018/2019. This research is an experimental research. The method of data collection in this research was taken through basic mathematical abilities test and student learning outcomes test. Data were analysis using regression analysis. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that there is an influence of basic mathematical abilities on student learning outcomes in the Measurement Method subject with a magnitude of influence of 6.7%. It’s means that the success of student learning in the lecture Measurement Method is related to students’ basic mathematical abilities. So it can be said that the final grades of students in the Measurement Method subject is influenced by the basic mathematics ability possessed by the student.

EFEKTIVITAS MODEL PEMBELAJARAN TUTOR SEBAYA DENGAN PENGGUNAAN LKS TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA PADA MATERI KELILING DAN LUAS LINGKARAN

This research is an experimental research which aims to determine the effectiveness of peer tutoring learning models with the use of LKS on student learning outcomes in solving the story problems in the material around and the area of ​​the circle. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kota Ternate and samples that were randomly taken were class VIIIA students as an experimental class which amounted to 27 students and class VIIIB as a control class totaling 30 students. Data collection is done through tests of student learning outcomes with 5 items as instruments that have been validated by the validator. The analysis of the data used is 5-scale PAP, homogeneity test, normality test, the Mann-Whitney test and hypothesis test. The results of the calculation of the initial homogeneity test obtained F count = 1.29 less than Ftable = 1.90, then the two data are homogeneous. In the normality test the final test data is obtained χ2 count> tabel2 tables or 9.90> 7.82 for the experimental class and χ2 count> χ2 tables or 10.56> 7.82 for the control class, meaning that the two group data are not normally distributed, so used non parametric statistical tests. The non parametric test used is the Mann-Whitney test, from the calculation results obtained by Zhitung = -4.14 with Ztable = ± 1.96 at a significant level () = 0.05, Accept H0 if -Zt ≤ ZH ≤ + Zt and Reject H0 if ZH> Zt or ZH <-Zt. Because ZH <Zt (-4.14 <-1,96), then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there are differences in student learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class in class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Ternate City. Thus, there are differences in learning outcomes in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kota Ternate who use peer tutoring learning models with the use of LKS and those who do not use the learning model. Based on the mean, level of mastery obtained by the experimental class and the control class, as well as student activities and responses to peer tutoring learning models with the use of LKS, it can be concluded that the application of peer tutoring learning models with the use of effective LKS to improve student learning outcomes material around and area of ​​circle

The Application of Quantum Learning Model On the Eight Grade Students In Circles Material at SMPN 5 Jombang

This study aims to describe the application of the quantum learning model in the material of the central angle, the circumference of the circumference and the area of circle circle in class VIII students in terms of the ability of the teacher to manage learning, student learning outcomes, student learning activities, and student responses. The design of this study uses the One-Shot Case Study. The subjects of this study were class VIII B SMPN 5 Jombang. Data collection techniques used the test, observation, and questionnaire methods using the instrument of student learning outcomes test sheets, observation sheets the ability of teachers to manage learning, observation sheets of student activities and student response questionnaires. Based on the results of data analysis shows that: (1) student learning outcomes complete and meet the KKM. Classically, student learning outcomes are 76.67%. While individually students completed 23 from 30 student . (2) the ability of the teacher to manage learning from the observed aspects as a whole obtain an average score of 4 including in the excellent category. (3) student activities during learning, from the results of the study showed the percentage of overall student activity of 77.78% included in the active category. The Application Of Cooperative Learning Model Of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Based Manipulative Media On Topics “Shape” Of Class VI Elementary School Of Tombolok Gowa

This study aims to describe the application of the cooperative learning model of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type assisted by manipulative learning media to improve student learning outcomes in shape material. This study involved 29 elementary grade VI students as a research sample and used a pre-experimental research type with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Student mathematics learning outcomes data obtained from student learning outcomes tests consisting of 10 breakdown questions and analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. To see an increase in student mathematics learning outcomes can be interpreted using normalized gain (N-gain). From the results of data analysis, it is obtained that: (1) the average value of student learning outcomes before applying the TAI learning model assisted by manipulative media is 42.21 with a low category; (2) the average value of learning outcomes after applying the TAI learning model assisted by manipulative media is 74.76 with a high category; (3) hypothesis test results obtained tcount> t table (13,589> 2,048) and the significance value is 0,000 <0.05 so that Ha (Ha: µ1 <µ2) is accepted; (4) increase in the value of pretest and posttest with gain index (d) of 0.56 with the medium category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the cooperative learning model of the TAI type can improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students in grade VI in shape material. Therefore, this type of TAI cooperative learning model can be used as an alternative learning model that can be used in order to improve student learning outcomes

Developing high school physics teaching materials through 7E learning cycle model

Research has been conducted which aims to describe the feasibility of high school physics teaching materials through the 7E learning cycle model. The feasibility of teaching materials is evaluated from the validity of teaching materials, the practicality of teaching materials, the effectiveness of teaching materials, and the achievement of science process skills. This research is a research and development based on the Dick & Carey development model. The subjects of this research are 30 students of science class in one of the high schools in Banjarmasin. The instruments of this study are; the validation sheet of teaching materials, the implementation sheet of the lesson plan, the science process skill observation sheet, and the student learning outcomes test. The results showed that the teaching materials are categorized as good, the practicality of the teaching materials categorized as very practical, the effectiveness of the teaching materials included in the medium category, and the achievement of science process skills categorized as quite good. The Implementation Of Active Giving Questions and Getting Answer Strategy In Direct Instruction Learning Model To Improve Biology Learning Outcomes Class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Kendari

This class action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of biology students of Class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Kendari through learning active strategy giving questions and getting answers in the direct instruction learning model. The subjects of this study were all students registered in the even semester of the 2013/2014 academic year class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 5 Kendari with a total of 42 students, consisting of 11 male students and 31 female students. The initial data collection technique was done by interview and observation. The source of data from the study is the measurement of student learning outcomes tests using learning outcomes indicators according to Anderson and Krathwoll in cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive data. The results of this study concluded that the average learning achievement of students in the first cycle was 68.55%, the second cycle was 61.695 and in the third cycle was 81.81%. Penggunaan Media Animasi pada Kompetensi Memahami Dasar-Dasar Sistem Hidraulik Siswa SMK Teknik dan Bisnis Sepeda Motor

Abstracts. This study aims to: Determine the effect of the use of animation media on the competence to understand the basics of hydraulic systems to improve student learning outcomes in class X Engineering and Business of Motorcycle Bikes at SMK Negeri 1 Palangka Raya. The population in the study applied was all students of class X Motor in SMK 1 Palangka Raya second semester Academic Year 2018/2019. The research sample chosen was class X Engineering and Motorbike Business with students totaling 31 students. The instruments applied in this study are: observation sheets of teacher and student activities, questionnaire sheets of student responses to the use of animation media on learning and student learning outcomes tests. Based on the results of research conducted with the use of animation media in Competence Basics of Hydraulic Systems in class X Engineering and Motorcycle Business, has an influence on student learning outcomes, where the level of achievement in learning with the use of animation media is 89.4% with very achievable information because there are at the percentage of 80% -100%, and the completeness of student learning in classical is at the percentage of 87%, so it can also be declared very complete.

Implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) Assisted by E-Learning through Lesson Study Activities to Improve the Quality of Learning in Physics Learning Planning Courses

This study aims to improve the quality of learning in physics learning planning courses through the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) assisted by E-Learning through Lesson Study activities. This type of research was qualitative research through the stages of Lesson Study activities. Subjects in this study were the 5th-semester students who program 11 physics learning planning subjects in the 2018-2019 academic year in the Department of Physics Education, University of Papua. The research data was obtained through the student learning outcomes test instrument that was given after the submission of each topic of study, observation sheet of student activities, interview guidelines, documentation in the form of video recordings during open class implementation, and student response questionnaire. Data were analyzed through Rasch modeling with the help of the Winstep application to analyze student responses after learning. Lesson Study activities consist of three phases of activities, namely Plan, Do, and See. In the Plan stage discussions with the team of lecturers were held to develop Chapter Design and Lesson Plan. In the Do stage, the model lecturer based on the tools that have been prepared does learning. In the See stage, the reflection was done to find out weaknesses and strengths during learning which is then followed up on further learning. The results showed that student-learning outcomes increased student responses to good learning and learning atmosphere seemed very fun. Therefore, it can be concluded that through the implementation of PjBL assisted E-Learning through Lesson Study activities can improve the quality of learning in physics learning planning subjects.

The Effect of Problem Based on Learning Models Using Macromedia Flash and Motivation Against Student Learning Outcomes on Environmental Pollution Materials

This study aims to determine: 1) whether the learning outcomes of students taught with problem-based learning models using macromedia flash are better than students taught with direct learning models, 2) whether the learning outcomes of students who have high motivation are better than students who have low motivation,3) is there an interaction between the two learning models with the level of motivation in influencing student learning outcomes. This research is a quasi experimental study. The population in this study were all grade VII students of MTs Lab. UINSU Medan Academic Year 2018/2019 which consists of three classes. Samples were selected by cluster random sampling of two classes. . The instrument used was a student learning motivation questionnaire and student learning outcomes test. Data obtained from the research instrument were then analyzed using two-way anova in the SPSS 14.0 for Windows program. The results showed that: Student learning outcomes taught by the problem-based learning model were better than students taught by the direct learning model (sig. = 0.027 <0.05), Student learning outcomes that were highly motivated were better than students who were motivated low (sig. = 0,000 <0.05), There is an interaction between the two learning models with the level of motivation in influencing student learning outcomes (sig. = 0.018 <0.05).

The Effectiveness of Adobe Flash CS5 Learning Media on Explanatory Text Material in Public Senior High School 1 Padang Bolak

The aims of this study is to find out the effectiveness of Adobe Flash CS5 Learning Media. This research was carried out in Public Senior High School 1 Padang, Bolak 2018/2019 Academic Year. Implementation of treatment (treatment) in the form of learning activities that are tailored to the education calendar. The population of this research and development are students of Public Senior High School 1 Padang Bolak. The result of this study The effectiveness of student learning outcomes tests got an average score of 81% with the criteria of "good" before using Adobe Flash CS5 learning media on learning to write explanatory texts got an average score of 68.7% with the criteria of "enough".

UPAYA MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING PADA PADA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA KELAS IV SDN 106788 PURWODADI KECAMATAN SUNGGAL KABUPATEN DELI SERDANG TAHUN PEMBELAJARAN 2018/2019

This study aims to increase student learning outcomes on mathematics subjects in the material measuring angles with standard units by applying the Problem Based Learning learning model at SDN 106788 PURWODADI, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study were students of class IV-B, which amounted to 29 students consisting of 11 male students and 18 female students. This research was conducted in two cycles. Data from the results of this study were obtained from tests of student learning outcomes and observations.Based on the results of the study, it was shown that there was an increase in the learning outcomes of material students measuring angles with simple aircraft standard units by applying the Problem Based Learning learning model. This can be seen from improving student learning outcomes every cycle. In the pre-test of student learning outcomes carried out before the application of learning there were 4 students (32%) completed learning while 17 students (68%) had not yet finished with a grade point average of 50.93. In cycle 1 completeness of student learning outcomes there were 17 students (72%) completed in 8 students (28%) not yet completed with an average value of 70.4. The results of teacher observation amounted to 67.27% with a good category while the observations of students amounted to 64% with sufficient categories. Student learning outcomes have increased to 23 students (92%) completed 2 students (8%) have not been completed while the average value of 86.4. Teacher observation results have increased by 92.72% with very good categories while student observations amounted to 92% with very good categories. By looking at the percentage of learning outcomes and observations it can be concluded that the Application of Problem Based Learning Learning Models can improve student learning outcomes.

Study on the Effect of CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting and Extending) Learning Model on Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Cognitive Domain

In the world, mathematics education is one of the fields of study that occupies an important role in creating students who think logically, rational, critical and insightful. Therefore, mathematics is indispensable everyday life and a provision in the face progress of science and technology. This study aimed to assess the effect of the learning model CORE towards mathematics learning outcomes, especially those in the cognitive aspects — this research conducted at Junior High School 34 Pekanbaru with a quasi-experimental type of research. The study design uses a nonequivalent control group design with a sample of all students in class vii-1 (control class) and class vii-2 (experiment class). Data collection techniques using test techniques, observation techniques, and documentation techniques. While the data collection instruments used were a test sheet and observation sheet. Student learning outcomes tests were analyzed using descriptive statistical data analysis and inferential statistical data analysis. Results of data analysis descriptive study gained an average of learning outcomes posttest experimental classes (VII-2) = 83.70, and grade control (VII-1) = 68.02, whereas the results of t-test analysis showed that the experimental class (VII-2) is higher than the control classes (VII-1) seen from the values that tcount (3,81) ˃ ttable (68,02) with significance level α = 0,05. So it was concluded that the CORE model influences mathematics learning outcomes, especially on cognitive aspects.

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Diskursus Multy Reprecentacy (DMR) untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman dan Prestasi Belajar Siswa


 The research problem is the low activity in the classroom in the learning process, especially in the process of activity and achievement which is still rigid. The purpose of this study was to find out by applying the Discourse Multy Representace learning model that could improve student activity and achievement abilities. This research was conducted at SMP N 1 Hinai in the 2020/2021 academic year. With the subject of 36 students. This research was formed in the CAR research. In data collection, the data obtained are student learning activity observation sheets and student learning outcomes tests. For data analysis used quantitative and qualitative data. Based on data analysis, the result of student activity (cycle I was 38.88%), while in cycle II it was (86.21%). On student learning outcomes from the pretest data obtained a score of 62.7 with 12 students who completed and 24 students who did not complete. In the first cycle posttest obtained a value of (73.19%) with a total of 8 students who completed from 28 students who did not complete. And in the second cycle posttest with a value of (94.16) with 35 students who completed and 1 student who did not complete. This shows the success of the research conducted. It can be concluded that the application of collaborating the Discourse Multi-Representation learning model with the concept sentence on the students has succeeded with what was expected.

Improving science learning outcomes material for the healthy and unhealthy environment through a contextual learning model

The contextual learning model is a learning model that emphasizes the process of full student involvement to be able to find the material being studied and connect it to real-life situations to encourage students to apply it in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of science materials in a healthy environment and an unhealthy environment in third-grade students of SD Advent Merauke using contextual learning models. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) type of collaborative research. This research was conducted in two cycles. In each cycle, there are activities of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were Grade III students of SD Advent Merauke, totaling 19 students. Data collection techniques used are tests of student learning outcomes, observation, and documentation. The instruments used are a syllabus, lesson plan, observation sheet, and test sheet. While the data analysis used is the analysis of learning outcomes tests and analysis of student and teacher activity sheets. The results of the study showed that in the first cycle the percentage of completeness in classical learning of new students reached 31.6% and the class average reached 47.89. In the second cycle, improvements were made based on the shortcomings in the first cycle so that the shortcomings in the first cycle could be overcome. In the second cycle, the percentage of classical learning completeness students reached 94.7% and the class average reached 85.78. Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the contextual learning model is able to improve the learning outcomes of science.

Development of Portfolio-Based Modules with Enrichment Model to Improve Creative Thinking in Middle Schoo

One of the objectives of learning Mathematics in Indonesia is for students to get various provisions when facing challenges in the global era. Therefore, the ability to understand is emphasized in the development of thinking processes. Teaching materials are obviously needed to bridge the material so that it is conveyed to students correctly according to the learning objectives. One of the appropriate and necessary teaching materials in Mathematics learning is an Enrichment based portfolio module. The objectives of this research were to find out the condition of learning Mathematics in the Surakarta State Middle School nowadays. The second objective wasto know the development of portfolio learning modules with the Enrichment model to improve creative thinking. The third objective was to determine the effectiveness of the portfolio learning module with the Enrichment model that can improve creative thinking. The type of research used in this research was development research. The instruments used in this research were material expert and media assessment sheets on teaching materials, student response questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. After the teaching material was made, it was then validated by the expert team. Validation was carried out by two material experts and design experts. After the medium was validated and revised, then a user trial was then carried out, namely the trial of small groupsand large groups. Based on the results of these trials, the teaching materials were revised again if weaknesses were found again. Next was the implementation stage of teaching materials for 8th grade students in one of the Surakarta City Middle Schools

Practicality and effectiveness of physics teaching materials based on contextual through inquiry to increase studentsscience literacy

This study aims to determine the feasibility (practicality and effectiveness) of contextually based physics teaching materials through guided inquiry learning to improve scientific literacy of grade X students in the first semester of senior high school. This research method uses research and development (R&D), this physics teaching material was tested on high school students in grade X even in the school year with one-group pretest-posstest design. The instruments of data collection used in the study were sheets, practicality test sheets and effectiveness test sheets in the form of student learning outcomes test sheets. The data analysis technique used was the analysis of practicality, and analysis of effectiveness. Based on the data analysis that has been done, it was obtained, the contextual physics teaching material through guided inquiry learning to improve student scientific literacy was very practical which was characterized by the average value of teaching materials according to teacher responses 93,82 and teaching materials according to student responses 81,5. Then, the use of physics teaching materials based on inquiry learning was effectively used in learning to improve students’ scientific literacy skills.

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa

Proses pembelajaran hendaknya berpusat pada siswa namun pada pelaksanaannya masih berpusat pada guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat penerapan model discovery learning dengan media gambar terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimen. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII MTsN 7 Pesisir Selatan pada tahun akademik 2018/2019. Kelas eksperimen adalah VIII. 5 dan kelas kontrol adalah VIII. 3 yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah Randomized Control Posttest Only Design. Penilaian kognitif dapat dilihat dari tes akhir siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t, dengan kriteria t hitung> t tabel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan rata-rata tes hasil belajar siswa di kelas eksperimen adalah 80,70, di lain pihak rata-rata tes hasil belajar siswa di kelas kontrol adalah 69, 37. Setelah uji coba dilakukan, peneliti menemukan jika harga t hitung 6,59 dan t tabel 1,67 itu berarti t hitung> t tabel, sehingga hipotesis penelitian diterima. Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan jika penerapan Discovery Learning Model dengan media gambar dapat meningkatkan skor siswa dalam mata pelajaran biologi dalam domain kognitif di kelas VIII MTsN 7 Pesisir Selatan.

Analysis of the data used in this study in the form of student activity observation sheets, and student learning outcomes test data. From the results of the study showed an increase in the average activity and student learning outcomes, namely in the first cycle the average value of student activities 11.35 was active, while the average value of student learning outcomes was 67.5 and the percentage of completeness was 81%. In the second cycle the average value of student learning activities 18.2 is categorized as very active, while the average value of student learning outcomes is 70 and the percentage of completeness is 87.5%
